I watched the tribute nakaka-touch actually. Her fame, voice and talent may fade over time, but the lives she touched, the artists she helped and the legacy she built will be forever.
I was in my high school days when I got hooked on her songs when the REASON ENOUGH album came out with an original carrier single BABALIKANG MULI launched in ‘Sang Linggo nApo Sila.
Time flies so fast yet I had the best and most wonderful memories growing up as a Regine Fanatic. I even went to the point where I mimicked her, acting and wearing makeup like her, especially her (Boxing Helena) Sherilyn Fenn-like eyebrows back in the day.
My unforgettable concert experience was her 10th Anniversary Concert in the UP Sunken Garden, The Art of Voice held in the same venue in the UP Theater Diliman, Retro in Folk Arts Theater (2nd Night), R2K at the Big Dome (2nd Night) and Queens on Fire (with the Concert Queen, Ms. Pops Fernandez) at the Ultra (currently Phil-sports Arena).
I thank Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and her songs for being my way to express and discover more about myself during my teenage years.
