Celebs usually gets invite to help the brand get more media mileage. While Influencers are PAID MEDIA by the brands. That’s the difference between Heart Evangelista versus other Philippine celebs attending Fashion Weeks. If you noticed, Heart is a regular in fashion week because it’s her WORK. Just like Bryan Boy, same sila ni Heart, they are PAID media. Others celebs like PIA, ANDREA BRILLIANTES, ALEX G and LIZA, they are just there for experience na rin how fashion weeks are. But they aren’t PAID media by these LUXURY BRANDS. Kaya swertehan lang talaga. Swerte ni Heart and Bryan Boy. That xx could be the brand or a top fashion and lifestyle authority like Elle, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar etc. Influencers are usually invited for their individual brand. Kaya mas mahirap maging influencer kasi sila talaga ang true hustle just to get those invites. And most influencers vs celebrities have direct relationship woth the brands because they are played by the brands themselves. Their outfits are also all coming from the brand’s atelier.

DeleteThat’s not how it works. Kaya nga launchmetrics themselves separated the category of influencer vs celebrity. Sa Influencers top si heart, sa celebrities si enhypen then followed by Pia. So you can’t rank it like that. A major publication being a celebrity’s invitee will weigh differently than a mere influencer that usually invited by diff brands.

That’s heart’s usual MIV kahit dati pang fashion weeks @3:47 which is not bad for an influencer at top padin sya. But that ranking by 12:34 is highly inaccurate and shows ignorance of these fans in this industry. You don’t rank it like that because they are not in same category! Even the tracking media who published these MIV clearly created a distinction in MIV. You can see there sa article the top 5 influencers and the top 5 celebrities kasi magkaiba yan sila! Influencers are paid by the brands while celebrities are paid or correspondents of another fashion authority like vogue. PLACEMENTS play a crucial role in these calculations. Big names like vogue and harpers bazaar will count very high. What more if these posts will be published or commented by their other media partners. Quality of media is one of the categories of MIV. And that’s easy to score if you are invited by a big media pub. Hence celebrities will always score higher and hence a different category.
DeleteFor those who do not know shadowbanned is when your posts don’t come up on feeds and usually the poster don’t know about this. Reasons usually, if they spam content back to back. I think Pia is getting shadowbanned now too as I don’t see her posts in my feed I have to go to her profile to see them. But its not the fault of the celebrities it’s an algorithm by IG to counter bots. Madali lang remedy nito they just need to slow down a bit sa feed posting (stories are ok).

No need to compare dear. I am a huge fan of heart, and I really hate these comparisons. Probably mainly from trolls trying to instigate fan wars. Yes Heart paved the way for the Fashion Week to be a thing in Philippines but now that we are more vocal about fashion it’s nice to have other filipino celebrities in fashion week as well. Stop the comparison let’s just be happy that we are getting more representation in a very cutthroat industry like fashion. Our Pinay ladies have been supportive of each other and posting stories of their quick interactions there, so why are we not as supportive as they do with each other?

ReplyDeleteMIV does not rely on likes alone. Main categories are reach, engagements, source authority and contents. Source authority is big deal kasi quality of media yan. So if you are sent by vogue or harpers bazaar you already got huge points. Most celebrities have high source authority because of this category.
