We Catholics have been tolerant.

      Delete
    5. Separation ng Church and State kamo? Di ba our Constitution gives us the right to practice freedom of religion?

    7. He wanted to get a rise out of the public for clout. Ngayon na nakuha niya, pa awa na? The Philippines is probably one of the most tolerant countries when it comes to the gays.

      Delete
    8. I agree with 12.38. Luka's offence was a disrespect to our faith. Why bring the gender discrimination card in the picture? Singing our Lord's Prayer in that manner is still offensive, regardless of whether a man, woman or someone from the LGBTQ community did something similar.

      Delete
    9. He was arrested because he violated PD 960 n 969 which are about respecting any religion.
      Ang OA ni Aiza.

      Delete

      Delete
    11. 12:44 Ayaw mong bastusin religion mo. 🤦🏼‍♀️

      Delete
    12. Louder? How about we respect each other, and respect our religion and faith too? As if the arrest is because he’s part of the community and not because of the offense committed. ‘Wag ganon, Ice. Ang mali ay mali. Mapa-babae, lalake, or part ng LGBTQIA community.

      Delete

      Delete
    14. kung lalaki o babae na straight ang gumawa ng ginawa ng luka, kakasuhan pa rin. walang kinalaman ang gender card dito pati na rin ang separation of church and state. ano ba pinagsasasabi mo ha ICE?

      Delete

      Delete
    16. Maski si Aiza hindi alam ang separation of Church and State

      Delete
    17. Tama! Hindi gender issue ito kundi disrespect to the catholic religion. Bastos sya!

      Delete
I feel sorry for u kung wala kang Panginoon.

      Delete
    21. Misinformed si Aiza. Kawawa naman.

      Delete
    22. Natamaan ba kayo? Totoo naman parepareho lang tayo makasalanan. Hindi porket straight ka malinis ka na. Yung iba dyaan palasimba nga pero may matinding baho pala.

    24. I get Ice. I’m straight, but I get her sentiments.

      Delete
    25. Even CAtholic members of the LGBTQ.. were offended by what he did. kaya do not use the gender card here to act like the LGBTQ are the victims here. and please Separation of Church ansd State is irrelevant in this issue.

    27. @11:43 thru your personal experienced ba yan? Bakit ako beki pero never ako nakaramdam ng discrimination.

      Delete

pero etong kaso na isinampa kay luca, dapat siguro madeclare yung batas na unconstitutional because it abridged luca's right to free expression. okay lang kasuhan kung may ginulo syang misa at don sya nagdrag show, she deserves to be jailed. pero yung performance nya, sa isang party club, that should be protected by the constitution

      Delete
  2. Oh no. I did not expect this from you Ice. Paano kaya kung kayong LGBT yung i mock at bastusin? Diba aalma din kayo? There is separation of church and state pero hindi ibig sabihin pwedeng ng mang bastos at mangbalasubas ang kahit sino.

    2. "Paano kung LGBT ang i-mock at bastusin..." Nako, matagal at ang dami dami daming beses ng nangyare 'to, in all forms and platforms.

    4. 1253 Manny Pacquiao is not a catholic, Quibuloy is not a catholic...

    7. Lol decades nang nababastos LGBTQIA community for being who they are.

For all you know, yung ibang na-offend ang religious sensisbilties ay nga members din ng LGBTQIA+.

  9. Have to agree with him. Remember Carlos Celdran? Remember the condoms on an art exhibit? Bilis lang sampolan and nationwide coverage pa. Pero do you guys remember the string of cases of gay men who were killed in 2010s? No diba. They were forgotten.
This is not to say that Pura was right. But this is an overreaction na ipakulong. Turn the other cheek.
But then again this is a political move. The Church has a sway with its devout followers.

    1. On the flipside, this is also holding him accountable for his actions. My only question for our church is: have we exhausted all means to reconcile with this man? If so, a case filed is but just, but if not… we have failed to represent Jesus to this lost man.

      Delete
    2. Whatever his happening to him now, he brought it on himself. This will not ruin his life. He just needs to apologize. Or pay the bail. He can learn humility and respect from this.

      Delete
    3. Those against Luka did not ruin Luka's life. Luka did this on his own. And for those who are outraged with what he did and are moved to action, we could not blame them. Sometimes, we also need to defend our loved ones and beliefs. If he did that song about someone's loved one, expect the other person/ party to be mad as well.

Oo lahat ay nagkakamali. May kanikaniyang kaparusahan sa tamang panahon.

This would set precedence for drag acts in the country. Also when it comes to cases like this, leaning naman most of the time towards freedom of expression ang SC.

  20. Aiza, respect is a two way street. When someone makes fun of the lgbtq community, you all get offended by it. Same is true for people who value their faith. Maypa archaic ka pang nalalaman dyan. You talk about your dignity? No one is robbing it away from luka. You want to be respected? Look for a decent job. It doesn't have to be a job that makes a mockery of other people's faith or culture. That's just downright disrespectful.

LGBTQ+ always asked to be respected, but look what he did? "Don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you." If somebody will disrespect anyone of my love ones , I will be very very offended what more if someone did it to Jesus Christ? He is my everything. That is the Lord's prayer, a very sacred prayer.
Pura did the sacramental bread (Ostiya) mukbang challenge as well, that is a very disrespectful act. Respect begets respect.

  23. Regardless of your gender identity, puede magdemanda pag abused or any unfair treatment, karapatan ng bawat tao yun.. That’s basic human rights.. So walang kinalaman sa gender ang issue.. Don’t use the gender thing to get away with this kind of cases..

    ReplyDelete
  24. Respect begets respect. Dignity begets dignity. And the blasphemer and violator of certain Republic Act gets what's due. Take away gender from the equation. This is not political. Let us just base it on the actions of the person in question. Said accused had quite a number of times to change or even apologize. Yet the accused dug in, looking downnon a faith sp important to so many, blaspheming the center of that faith, using 'Ama Namin', and the crucifix of Christas cheap entertainment, taking potshots at the faithful, without mercy. What then, if there is a law broken, should it just be allowed because of the 'gender card'? The gender card is not a get out of jail free card. PLV is an adult and is responsible for whatever actions he has taken. Let's be rational and let the law take it's due course. This then becomes a deterrent to similar behavior. Diversity and equality also means we are all equally accountable for our actions, whatever our background, politics, status or gender.

A lot of people didn't like it, because they said, nobody should changed it, it should've been solemn. Same with Faith and Religion, whatever it is, we should respect it! Nagkamali sya, and ni hindi sya nag sorry, so, he should face the consequences.

    2. Yup. Would still get the same rise out of the faithful who fond their faith and God mocked. Also, if he only attended the hearing na no-show siya, seguro may settlement at wala siyang warrant of arrest. All these is caused by PLV. 2. In Philippine society pa? The concept of bakla, agi and the babaylan ay nasa lipunan na natin bago pa ang panahon espanyol. The lgbtq in Pinas enjoy many freedoms and levels of acceptance na wala sa western society. Do we burn, scourge or kill lgbtq members like they do in Arab countries? No, in fact we celebrate them especially in professions that only they can do so much better in (beauty, art, music, design). So don't exagerrate. Even if a huge percentage of Filipinos have opinionsnof what they believenis proper and right because of their faith and values, we are a very tolerant bunch. We can even tolerate the most degenerate of politicians and mendicant relatives, si Pura pa kaya? The reason hebis in thia situation is because of his own making. He made an entertainment out of 'Ama Namin', condemning it, making it a joke. This is the prayer taught by Jesus to his disciples. Jesusbis the central figure in our Catholic faith. Pagmukbang ng ostya - that was just so disrespectful and uncalled for. How can the faithful tolerate such blasphemy of 'the body of Christ'? It is but right that they seek redress for their grievances for deterrence and to defend their faith. They were willing to talk to him, but he won't even say sorry or acknowledge his actions andnit's impact. Just as PLV has the right to his freedoms, the Christians also have the right to theirs. Thisnis what equality means. Diversity and equality means we all have the same respnsibilities to each other and towards the law. PlV cannot be given an excuse just because of his gender. That would make our society unfair, favoring only the lgbtq. That's not right.

  33. The issue was not about Pura’s gender but rather with her act of disrespecting the Catholic religion/faith. Dont muddle the issue. Ang tapang pa nya e. Walang remorse sa ginawa nya. Tapos ngayon pinapalabas na sha inapi. Duh? Stop spinning that this has to do with her gender preference. She justifies it by saying that it is art and she is entitled to freedom of speech. But everything has limits and not evrrything is absolute.

  37. How do you divide a country? :) :) :) Easy... just pit men vs. women, LGBTQIA++ vs. straight, Catholics vs. Atheist, and so on and so fort while the politicians silently drain the nation's money :D :D :D It works and you penoys falls for it every time ;) ;) ;)

    1. Ikr? The hypocrisy here in the comment section is laughable. First, they say they're offended because of their religion then proceed to bash ice & luka - if you're truly religious then what happened to 'love thy neighbour'? Dba? The irony...

    2. 5:48 - you made an incomplete quote and has taken it out of context. The first and greatest commandment is Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and the second is: “Love your neighbor as yourself”.

      Delete

  41. Whoa, anong nangyare Ice? This is not an issue about LGBTQIA. but anyways, since against ka sa pagka kulong ni Pura, ikaw na mag piyansa sa kanya. Dami mo pang sinasabi eh kahit ibang mga taga lgbtqia ay not in favor sa ginawa nya.

  42. If you have rights, others too...
This has nothing to do with him being LGBTQ...
That is how narrow minded you are, you only see what you want to see and disregard others because they don't conform with what you believe in and want... isn't that unfair too????

    ReplyDelete
  43. I have high respect on you Aiza. But you did not get the real picture here. This is not about LGBTQ issue, this is about how he blasphemously used the very prayer Jesus Christ taught us! As what other netizens here are saying, do that to our Muslim brothers and puka is nowhere to be found. This is about respect and belief in one's faith. And we never heard any apologies from this puka and now you are using the LGBTQ issue here? Know when and where to shut your ideas and/or opinion!

  49. Pero sa totoo lang no, i really think this has gone too far. Whatever happened with that teaching of the church? Sure he went too far but wala rin naman syang pinatay or may namatay ba sa sobrang kunsumisyon because na offend masyado sa ginawa nya? How can a religion teach about forgiveness kung sila mismo di marunong magpatawad? Let God decide for his fate.

  51. What an ignorant, self absorbed comment from Aiza.

    ReplyDelete
Sa dami ng mga batang nakakapagpakita na na sila ay miyembro ng LGBTQI+, I think society has already accepted that people have certain gender preferences aside from being male or female. I don't think yung problema is as grave as before kasi kahit sa anong larangan, may mga LGBTQI+ naman who are successful or are occupying high positions in their own organizations/professions. Discrimation is such a broad term and it comes not only because people are members of LGBTQI+ it can stem from race, it can stem from culture, it can also stem from the character and attitude of a person. So sa issue ni Ice, mas open minded and accepting na ang mga tao ngayon sa LGBTQI+ Minsan tignan din nila sa sarili nila, baka yung discrimination is because of race, culture or the character of the person.

Yung mayayaman kasi may pambayad sila.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Pura won’t be in jail if he didn’t violate any law. If Aiza has a problem with the law, she should have told Tito Sotto when he was still at the seat. Ngayon reklareklamo siya.

  55. Sa true lang, the entitlement among LGBTQ members is irritating. Respect is a two-way street. Lagi kayo ngumangawa na respetohin pero pag kayo nangbastos sa common folks and their religion at may umangal, all of a sudden kayo ang victim by playing the gender card. Kairita.

  56. Think hard before you post, Aiza Seguerra. It is never about gender issues. This person disguised his acts as performances / art. When, in fact, they are sacrilegious, offensive, blasphemous, disrespectful. Lest you forget that we are predominantly a Catholic nation. In our upbringing as Catholics, he deserves this arrest as a "learning punishment."

    ReplyDelete
  57. Aiza Seguerra, regardless of gender, mataas ang crime rate at expulsions sa trabaho, dont single out a certain group just to justify na merong discrimination. Gusto nyo maging acceptable pero what Pura did was disrespect sa mga taong hinihingan nyo ng acceptance. When asked to apologize eh nagmagaling pa. And ang point is hindi nya sineryoso ang warrant sa kanya kaya he wasted that chance na makapag counter affidavit sya, kaya ang siste, ayan kalaboso.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wag niyo gamitin yung LGBT as issue sa ginawa nyan.

  63. told ya.. here comes the LGBTQIA+ card.

    ReplyDelete
  64. This was never about Pura being a part of LGBTQA++ . It was about PLV's performance. Drag was never a crime. Imagine him doing that to a different religion, let's say PLV depicted Allah.

Let's separate how he identify himself. Someone who's in their right mind won't ever consider this as a form of self expression and art.

  66. Ice, if you are going to give a statement like that, provide actual data to support your claim.

    ReplyDelete
At nanghamon pa ng “bring it on” nung sunod-sunod yung persona non-grata niya. Kasama ang pride sa seven deadly sins. Di pa din ba niya narerealize that this is God’s way for him to be humbled

    ReplyDelete
  68. He was arrested because he did not show up for the hearing. He had a case because he violated a Republic Act. His warrant of arrest is to compel him to appear before the court which summoned him but which he subsequently ignored. Where in all that is his gender a factor? Wag maglihis ng usapan. Objective and factual, yan ang requirement ng forensics (forensics is not just the science used for evidence, it also refers to the requirements of court). He had the freedom to defend himself from the accusations and the choice to find ways to solve the issues levelled against him. Nagdrama siya and ignored what could gave been a simple apology. He escalated the situation himself just like he caused all this by his own blasphemy and refusal to apologize to the faithful he condemned and offended.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sandali lang po, inaresto siya dahil no show siya sa preliminary hearing. If you snub the court na naglatag na ng resources at time para ma process ang kaso, that means the kaw has the power to punish and compel you to attend. Bakit siya no show? Dami niyang chances na mag apologize, mag settle. Wala siyang ginawa.
