    4. @12:58 nope, mountainous ang terrain ng Cebu at usually rocky(limestone) type so gagawin niyan i cut and fill ang building. Same in our area in Consolacion, di kami nakakafeel everytime may earthquake, parang nakadikit na ang foundation ng house sa bato.Ang scary lang if my super typhoon just like Odette kasi glass house yan.

    5. y ruin our natural protection against typhoons? magiging prone lang yang area na yan sa mudslide like nung nangyari sa leyte years ago.

      Delete
    6. same from consolacion here. nakakatakot lang pag bagyo and you’re in mountainous area parang konti lang pagitan between your roof and yung kulog.

  2. Uhmmm. Slater, mag touch some grass muna kayo ng wifey mo. You both are trying to be relatable pero kulang pa.

    2. Where do you expect they build their project? Sa dagat? Edi masisira din ang ocean. Kahit san pa nila itayo yan may masasabi talaga mga tao

      Delete
    3. Ang tanong? Paano nabenta ang bundok? Private property yaaarn??? Bundok malamang public land yan.

      Delete
    4. Not to play devil's advocate but isn't Baguio just a whole lot of mountains? Yet they built roads and houses and buildings and srill doing it to this day. How is this any different?

      Delete

      Delete
    6. Same with moa. Na body of water before

      Delete
    8. 143 i lived in that city for 8yrs.. yeah and look at what happened... sobrang crowded at parang bundok na tinambakan ng basura buti na lang at malamig... actually kahit yung lamig halos parang nawala na din..

      Delete
    9. 1:43 may nakatira na kasi tlga doon eversince maging commercial or tourist spot sya. While in this case or mountain, wala pa.

      Delete
    10. Bundok talaga ang gagamitin? San sya kumuha ng permit para dyan?

      Delete
    11. 8:59 proper drainage ang di naanticipate na problem ng Baguio City which is I think, naconsider na sa project ni Slater na’to.

      Delete
    12. 8:59 the earth's population is growing so it'll be really hard to find new homes and areas to build them. Skyscrapers also casts shadows.

      Delete
    2. Bumabagyo ba sa Greece and Italy? If you look at the model, ginawang kalahati ng bundok yung structure. Hindi pjnatag bago tatayuan. Magkaibang foundation.

      Delete
    3. Kaya nga e, daming may messiah complex dito. Basically, when you want to develop a land. Ganun. Hipocrites much lol.

Plus it's actually smart to hire professionals because they know the exact parameters as to what extent they can properly execute the project.

Also, cut and fill with ripraps are an ancient but effective construction method. Even our ancestors did it to prevent the lands from eroding. So patawa yung mga feeling engineers na kesyo maglalandslide daw lol.

      Delete

      Delete
    5. Ikumpara daw ang Santorini at Amalfi jan. May Pacific Ocean ba sila? The Mediterranean Sea won’t be able to produce the same level of extreme storms that the Pacific can. Historically and geographically, they are not at par.

      Slater tulog na.

      Delete
    6. 10:23, I am an Engineer and I am telling you. Iba ang concept design sa actual construction. By the model itself, malaki ang gagastusin sa construction niyan at for sure aaray ang owner niyan at magcocost cutting.

      Delete
    7. Prinoblema nyo yung bibili at titira dun.

  21. Well I hope that by reading all the comments, there will be a realization on his team’s part that what they are planning to do no matter what will ruin nature. Hopefully they will pull the plug on this project.

So sino kaya ang target nila? So Slater, magising ka muna sa high inflation or sadyang di mo dama?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What’s the connection? Just because madaming naghihirap at vacant buildings na hindi naman nila kasalanan, he can’t build what he wants?(put eco issues aside) Ikaw kung gusto mo go solve mo yung issue sa Cebu. No one is stopping you

      Delete
    2. 1:45 It’s almost the same rich-poor ration all over the country, I would say. I don’t like Slater’s project by the way because I’m well aware of how easy and quick Gudalupe can get flooded. But just so you know, the condo projects in Cebu is booming because many people are now investing in them. Dati kasi di naman ganyan ka popular ang condo living because you can easily travel from one place to another. But since traffic is worsening, a lot of people live temporarily in condos during the week tapos uwi on weekends. Condos are also popular na rin to those not from the province. So, of course you’d see a lot of condo constructions.

    3. Di naman yan pulitiko so porpoblemahin niya ba nga ganung bagay? Sabihin mo yan sa mga politicians lols

      Delete
For sure, dumaan na ito sa maraming geo-technical tests and also, engineers design for safety first bago ang aesthetic.

    1. Check the site po muna. I agree with isang commenter na more than landslides or lindol, the risk is more on malakas na hangin similar to Odette kasi glass ang houses. But if they can come up with a design or material that would allow the glass to withstand strong winds, that should be a win for engineering.

      Delete
We had the property as early as 2008. Ang dami pang wild birds, bayawak at minsan Maral (di ko alam ang English word) within our vicinity. Saw a baby snake once in our parking. We lacked the proper environmental information when we bought the property (because we are new money) but now we know better. It is not just plant life that are at risk marami din pala kaming na disturbong animal lives sa kanilang habitat.
