Pia did stop to shake and hold his hands whilst thanking him, and the guard got in between them and pushed her away and rushed her forward even though she was still trying to look back. Even Ricky Lee said it’s not Pia’s fault, this is on the security guards of the mall, they are not her personal security guards.

I've been to some fan events, kapag kinakamayan na ng artista ang isang simpleng fan, naghihintay ang hawi boys o guards kahit pa hallway ang nilalakaran. I think Pia should have reacted differently in respect of Mr Ricky Lee. She just went with the guard as if she did not have any choice. She should have gone back to Ricky to complete her greeting. I think si Pia yong feeling sikat na sinasabihan ni 1st commenter.
For the full context of the video, the guards were rushing Pia to the stage. She stopped and shook hands with Ricky Lee thanking him for the book. As this was happening the guard got in between them and pushed Pia forward, as she was still trying to look back. For those saying she could have stopped the guard or reprimanded him, yes she could have done that but it wasn’t the proper time to do that if she was already being rushed forward and people were crowding her. Afterwards Ricky Lee and Pia managed to talk again but in a better setting. Ricky Lee said that it wasn’t Pia’s personal team who pushed in between them because they know him. The guard who didn’t know him was just trying to do his job but he was being rude to both Pia and Ricky Lee by pushing in between them in the middle of talking and shaking hands and pushing Pia forward.

His award winning screenplays and stories were the basis of a lot of movies in the 70s, 80s by Lino Brocka, Mike de Leon, et al that won awards in Cannes & other really prestigious festivals. DeleteIf you have read Ricky's explanation, he has shown humility amidst the situation. Balewala nga sa kanya nong nangyari mismo yan. He only realized that it was rude after watching the video. Here's what he said:

The close-in is just doing his job. If I were Pia, I would have given a stronger signal to let them know I’m shaking hands with a VVIP. That’s part of the protocol.

ReplyDeleteI've been to some fan events, kapag kinakamayan na ng artista ang isang simpleng fan, naghihintay ang hawi boys o guards kahit pa hallway ang nilalakaran. Lalo na kapag hawak na nina Marian, angelica, angel yung kamay nung fan kasi kapag hinawi agad pwedeng madala si artista at magkagulo pa. Of course ginagawa lang nung guard trabaho niya pero sana next time, assess, paano nila ihahandle yung ganitong sitwasyon. I've read Ricky lee's book about his life. Haligi na siya ng showbiz. 5 decades of great stories. National artist. Siya nagbigay mukha sa pinoy screenwriting. Lahat sa industriya, (film & writing)sa kanya dumadaan at tinitingala siya. Nakakalungkot itong nangyari. Isa rin siya sa "attraction" sa book fair na iyan. May booth rin diyan si sir ricky. Sana yung organizers ay na-brief ang kanilang securities sa mga personalities na nasa event para wala sanang ganito. Buti na lamang at di masakit ang pagkakahawi at wala sa kanila ang nasaktan.

Also, ung nagvvideo na obviously malapit dun sa mga guard nagsabi na “ay sir ricky” not just once so obviously di kung sino lang ung tao. Bastos pa din ung ginawa nung guard. Ok pa kahit papano kung hinarang na lng nya braso nya under pia’s and sir ricky’s arm while they were shaking hands di ung bumalandra sya sa gitna. Pero for sure napagalitan un.

DeleteOn a different angle: sana si Pia nalang ang nag stop for a while… Based sa video, Pia even made a stop-over in one booth para makipag beso beso with someone, just shortly after her brief handshake with Mr. Ricky Lee. And from what I observed, hindi naman nanghawi yung guard sa booth na iyon.
ReplyDeleteThe Kuya guard from SMX security is just doing his job, at mukhang hindi nman sinasadya ni Kuya guard. Pwedeng pag sabihan since alam nila dapat ang mga VIP’s since he is from SMX mismo. Sir Ricky Lee and Pia magkasama na since morning until lunch base sa mga photos online and after nitong pag kamay ni Sir Ricky Lee e pumunta pa sya sa book launch event nung gabi again as seen on videos sa online. May mga tao lang napaka nega wag masydo toxic. Love love lang. Huwag na parang kailangan tangalan ng kinabubuhay yung Kuya guard, prang tayo lang yan working araw araw para mabuhay, anxious na din yan tulad natin.

ReplyDeleteObviously the guard had to do it kasi tuloy2 yung paglalakad kahit ng mga tao sa likod. Baka mgkarambola if mag stop sila. And if you see the guard’s body language, he was being polite. Ricky Lee should be matured enough to understand it.

For the full context of the video, the guards were rushing Pia to the stage. She stopped and shook hands with Ricky Lee thanking him for the book. As this was happening the guard got in between them and pushed Pia forward, as she was still trying to look back. For those saying she could have stopped the guard or reprimanded him, yes she could have done that but it wasn’t the proper time to do that if she was already being rushed forward and people were crowding her. Afterwards Ricky Lee and Pia managed to talk again but in a better setting. Ricky Lee said that it wasn’t Pia’s personal team who pushed in between them because they know him. The guard who didn’t know him was just trying to do his job but he was being rude to both Pia and Ricky Lee by pushing in between them in the middle of talking and shaking hands and pushing Pia forward.

True, ang feeling ko kasi naga-gaslight pa yung victim. Kesyo walang kasalanan daw ang security, just doing their job ek. Pwede ring mag-acknowledge ng kamalian minsan, magkaroon ng konting accountability. Para nacocorrect ang maling ways.

His award winning screenplays and stories were the basis of a lot of movies in the 70s, 80s by Lino Brocka, Mike de Leon, et al that won awards in Cannes & other really prestigious festivals. His stories were captivating & varied. Also, respect should be accorded to everyone (especially older folks). It’s Kindness.

If the guard thinks there is a threat o nadedelay ang client e gagawin nya ang trabaho nya.
