I cannot relate to her as Ariel since she looks very different from the Ariel I knew from pictures and cartoon shows I watched as a kid. Even my niece who have read the book and watched the movie said Ariel looks different.

They could have made another movie with different plot if they want inclusivity which is much better because every race, every color deserves to have their own story.

Disney's intent is to spark intelligent conversation, not racism, which you (as an adult) should have been able to explain to your niece. Imbis na offering a solution na dapat ibang POC character and movie na lang ang ginawa, it should have been a message of embracing diversity and going beyond the supposed skin color of fictional characters. Conversations about race and color need to start early so we, as a society, can learn and grow.
