    1. Nothing wrong with the article. I wonder why some alt accounts and fans made a big fuss from it.

Over na nga sa papuri nila ang ibang artista kahit so-so and/or no acting naman.

    2. D ko magets or wala naman talagang offensive sa write-up ni ayns? Ayns ayns bebe. Hhaha

    3. The article was balanced nothing belittling to Kathryn’s career or personality, the thing they find offensive is their own perception. Grabe so much entertainment because of thisI WILL NOT WATCH THE MOVIE!

    5. kaloka naman itong critic, hello there is nothing wrong with the article. kung nagmamaru kayo, e di kayo kaya ang sumulat ng article. Mas marunong kayo sa writer. Magapply kayo!

I feel eto yung backhanded compliment echu nila sinasabi Compare "her eyes conveys her greatness as an actress" vs "mata mata acting" then you can say the latter is derigatory

  2. Ano? Im a big fan of Kathryn pero wala naman mali sa article nor did I find anything insulting. Lahat na lang. But yeah, I am excited for AVGG lalo na sa Elena 1944. Historic woman/ Periodic tale ang pangarap ko for Kathryn.

  3. I don’t see anything wrong with the article other than the typo sa last page.

    1. Same sis, I see nothing wrong except for that one typo haha

Nakikialam.

  8. As a cuasl audience here, this is so non issue that gotten big. It wasn't even critizing Kathryn. It was non offending article. Pero ginawang big deal. Yikes! So immature. Yikes!

And to Ayn, she was bashed so she have to save her face. I feel like she's doing it just please people. She could have stand on her ground. EIC pa naman.

    1. If you read the original article and you don't think there was a backhanded compliment there then you're lacking in comprehension.

Parang bawat kilos at salita mo may negative reaction lagi. Hahaha

    ReplyDelete
Not a fan of kb pero ang daming backhanded compliments lalo sa last part. Pang ilang pagkakamali na ba to ng Nylon? Dami nilang issue since last year lol ngayon lang sumagot sa issue kasi sikat yung nadamay.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oo, as a reader, pansin ko din, daming issue kay nylon, at yes, most of the time their writers have bad choice of word and tone, sometimes lack of research and interview on the subject, i wonder whether their editor do their job or not

      Delete
    2. Panong di magsosorry eh kinuyog nyo na

      Delete
    3. 12:28 media writers are allowed to have their own viewpoints, bringing her own lukewarm take to a subject matter is not a "mistake" she needed to apologize for. May editorial element talaga yan unless it is a whitewashed PR article. That's not realistic.

      Delete
    4. Not a fan kpa jan ha

    5. 1014 nahiya pa diba? 😂 Hello, Asia‘s Superstar daw yan bakit ka pa mahihiya. And that is a backhanded compliment. Lol

  16. I dont see anything wrong naman sa article.

  19. The EIC should have stood her ground. There wasn't anything offensive about it at all.

Comment ng comment without getting the full context..selective reading yarn?

    ReplyDelete
  21. “she could have easily DO a love team movie” cringe I can’t

    ReplyDelete
  22. Just promo tactic to create intigue and controversy where none exist so the public will see for themselves what the issue is. Kathryn's contemporaries mentioned in the article have had similar issues written about their transition from loveteam to solo. There were not raised voices of protest on their choice of projects and timeline. Why do her fans infer that she's being maligned. Perhaps it took the EIC a while to issue and apology since there's nothing to apologize about.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  24. Kay Kim, nag sorry din ba sya? Ginawang Starlet eh.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Haters lang kayo ni Kathryn. Basahin nyo before kayo kumuda, intindihin nyo na rin.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ang mga fanney feeling superior din..kaloka

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ang babaw na ng mga fans ngayon ha... not only these loveteam fans pero pati other fandoms ('di ko na sasabihin kung ano).. nasa generation ba ito or dahil ngayon everybody has an access to social media? 😅 kaya nagkakalat ang mga snowflakes

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  29. There was nothing offensive about the og article. These kathryn fans need to get a life. Delulus.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The statement wasnt even derogatory for them to react negatively. And it’s not as if Nylon demean Kathryn’s talent! Sila nga magsulat kung kaya nila! Makapagparevise akala mo kaya nila trabaho nung writer. Baka nga daigin pa sila ng Chatgpt!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ang OA ng mga faneys. Hirap iplease.

  35. Glad people in this article agreed on one thing: pls stop the woke culture. Super sensitive na ng mga tao ngayon lalo na mga gen z and mangilan-ngilang millenials and gen x. Filipinos used to be the happiest, but parang angriest or grumpiest na now lol

    2. 1:54 gurl, mas malala ang pagiging grumpy noon.

Super lala ng misogynist noon. Mapababae man or lalaki, they will always degrade and sexualize woman. Kapwang babae ay dinodown noon.

Then, malakas din ang power tripping noon. The oldies always done it sa mas nakakabata noon. Paglumaban ka, ikaw p ang masama and sasaktan lalo.

Kya mo nsabi yan, eh dahil no one calling out for it. Everyones tolerating it and passing it down to new generation. I didnt say n ibalik ang dati or okay ang gantong kawoke sa pangcacall out. Moderation is a key to everything, including sa pagcacall out. Be sensitive but just enough n u didnt hurt nyone, including urself.

    3. 1:54 happiest kasi wala naninita kamo. But if u let them belittle u or tolerating their harmful action and words, they having so much fun.

  43. Read the article, tried to comprehend what was written at sobrang layo ng interpretation ko sa mga faneys na nag react hahhahahahaahhaha.

The article was complimenting about career move, reinvention.

  47. Ano na lang mangyayari sa bansa in the future kung ganyan na pala mga ugali ng generation ngayon? Nakaka entitled at sensitive.

A backhanded compliment is not a compliment at all. Another thing the casuals and fans were calling her out on is because she's supposed to be a champion for women empowerment and yet she allowed an article that downplays a womans choices as somehow less than what is perceived that she should do. She would not have edited the story then made a statement if there was nothing wrong with the article. Again, for those saying there was nothing wrong, try reading the original and comprehend.

    ReplyDelete

  51. As an EIC, she should take responsibility. As an advocate for women empowerment, she should analyze and understand what that means. After all, she allowed this article to be put out there. I read the original article and as a woman, who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn't do in terms of my career and when I should do it. Different folks have different strokes and all should be respected and not ridiculed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I didn’t see anything wrong. It was a good article for Kath. Baka tinamaan yung mga fans sa sinabi na while gusto ng fans na ang roles nila e yung what you loved them for, kailangan rin hayaan sila to take on other roles so they can spread their wings. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Nu problema? Grabe mga tao ngayon, lahat na lang?

    1. Tama news blackout dapat about Kath and KN, sama na rin yang mag/physical or online cover patient Marin TVC. Won’t support anything related about Kath or KN from now on.

      Delete
  56. Casual fan here. I think that Kathryn is good and at her age, should slowly move out of her current love team to do solo projects so she can establish herself more as an artist. There's nothing wrong with the post IMO and I hope to see her do more interesting projects without her current partner in her love team. It's time for her to spread her wings more and pursue more individuality in her craft.

    ReplyDelete
  57. OMG. Ang OA ng ibang fans. Nakakainis na. Ayn just apologized na lang siguro to appease yung mga delulus para di na palakihin pa yung non-issue na 'to.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ultra sensitive b ang mga tao ngaun? Masyado kayong entitled. Gusto nyo lahat pabor s inyo. Ayan ang influence ng social media. Lahat n lng binibigyan ng issue.

  60. Sensitive ng mga delulu fans. Kaloka. Soft fandom.

    2. 4:50 Did it ever occur to you that they apologised to keep the peace kasi sobra kayong makareact? Seems like a coerced apology just so they can move on from your escalated backlash.

      Delete
    3. lol @8:57. did it ever occur to you that you are just in denial whose hopes and dreams to malign kathryn were crushed when that EIC failed to hold her ground? matapang ka pero duwag naman yang pinagtatanggol mo, lol

  61. Those saying there's nothing wrong with the original article doesn't know the meaning of a backhanded compliment or lacks comprehension. It reeked of aspersions and slights. Not a fan but the article was obviously insulting to the person it was addressing. It was only proper to own up to the mistake.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Not a fan pa ng lagay na yan pero sobrang affected lol

    2. Just bec people have a different opinion than you doesn’t mean na they lack comprehension. May backhanded compliments like “she deserves the right to do projects that will shake up the entertainment industry” eh hindi ba totoo? Kailangan bang isugarcoat pa yan? I don’t think Ayn deserves the backlash. Sobrang babaw.

      Delete
Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right.

  64. I can't believe so many people didn't understand the underlying tones of rebuke from the article. So many people lack comprehension nowadays and they're blaming the fans for being defensive? Of course they will defend their idol. That original article was insulting is so many levels. Good thing it was revised and as an editor in chief she took responsibility.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It’s not understanding that’s the issue. It’s more of perception. Miss EIC should grow some balls and let the noise fade away eventually.

      Delete
    2. Just because people are not offended as you are does not mean they lack comprehension. If the general consensus do not see the insult and people who are offended have a common bias, maybe that's saying something. And if you're so great at comprehension, maybe you can also can see that a certain fan base tend to not take any criticism (wala mga eh) without being offended.

Akalain iisang tao tayo lol 5:00 here 🤣

  65. Bad move for Ayn as an EIC. Di siya dapat nagpa-bully into releasing an apology. She'll end up retracting their content basta may fandom na hindi nagustuhan yung sinulat tungkol sa idol nila.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think the writer doesn’t need to apologise. She didn’t say anything offensive and meerly stating her opinion and thoughts. Why are readers so affected and offended just because it was an article about their idol. Unless the apology was done for marketing purposes

    ReplyDelete
  67. This fanbase are so entitled. Remember your idol is getting richer and richer and you don’t even get a single centavo from her earnings. It’s ok to idolise but to this extent? Maybe not.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don’t even care about Ayn (she is annoying) pero I also struggled to see the part na dapat ako mainis sa article.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Nag-apologized eh,kaya alam niyang mali siya hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Napaka entitled ng fans ni Kath. The author need not apologize for this.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Maybe Kath should also address her fans. Pagsabihan niya. Wag masyadong delulu. Sayang, Kath gets the hate kasi kagagawan din ng rabid faneys niya.
