    1. GREENWASHING. Look it up.

Our ancestors in Banaue had to build the terraces in order to survive. They needed a place to plant grains and rice up the mountains. This construction project is plain business GREED. Landslide pa more!

    4. 1:13 exactly. Hence, landslide.

    5. We live in the lowland area in Cebu and when the Monterazzas property was developed grabe iyong baha sa area namin. Iyong kulay talaga ng mud..

      Delete
    6. That's what engineers are for.

      Delete
    7. I am from Cebu that area is landslide prone. Narrow road pa going to and from the city - as in 1 car right lane and 1 car left lane, kaya accident prone din and road.

Oh well, lahat nman nabibili at nababayaran sa Pilipinas. Hindi na ako magtataka if matuloy ito. 😂

    1. Hinde ka kasi engineer. You are familiar with Banaue right? It's an old method of construction to prevent landslide, it was intentionally made that way so they can develop the lands to make it more productive.

  11. Is this one Of his projects in Cebu yung malayo sa City? Nasa bundok? Actually marami na trees naputol talaga. Remember nagkaroon ng typhoon sa cebu and minsan lang mangyari bumagyo one Of the reason is wala na daw talaga puno sa bundok naipon tubig sa taas kaya bumaha sa Cebu nawala usually yun nag protect sa kanila mga trees now? Not anymore.

    1. Either doon sa bundok sa may busay area or sa may Guadalupe

      Delete
    2. Cebu city and Cebu po is generally mountainous or hilly. Ang Monterazzas is located in Guadalupe and yung area na po na yun sa Capitol and after is hilly and mountains na po talaga. If you care to study po about Cebu’s topography, yung flat lands ng Cebu especially Cebu City are already almost developed na. Residential subdivisions and dwellings are already located sa mga “bundok” and Guadalupe is among those. Kahit po lumabas na kayo ng Cebu City which is Talisay and Minglanilla, there are a lot of mountain subdivisions na rin po kasi ganun talaga ang topography ng Cebu.

      Delete
    3. 10:29 Slater ikaw ba yan?

      Delete
    4. Pangalawa na nya to diba? Yung 2.0 sa bundok din. Ang bilis na soldout. Greedy so 3.0 naman. Ang yayaman ng mga taga Cebu

      Delete

I live in a mountain subdivision din po and most of the subdivisions now nasa bukid na talaga. Why? If you bother to go around Cebu like Guadalupe, Busay, Opra, Talamban, Basak and mostly sa Talisay and Minglanilla bukid na po halos lahat ng baging subdivisions. Kaya nga po uso ang habal2 or motorcycle dito instead of tricycle because of the terrain ng Cebu which is hilly and sloping talaga.

I am aware that when it started Monterazzas had a problem sa baha way back before but I know that has already been addressed kaya nakapag continue na sila and even sold the skypod 2.0.

Don't compare Cebu with other cities, kasi magkakaiba ang terrain nila.

How good and reliable is this slater young as an engineer? what construction company is he partnering with? And where in cebu are they building this? Pasensya na my short attention span can't finish the 18-min video. Salamat.

Looks gorgeous though and if the commenters are right about the destruction of our nature, then it's a no for me.

    1. I think it's their company. Maalam naman talaga, but to cut the mountain for this para maka create ng architecture na impressive? Not worth it.

      Delete
    2. Exactly my questions because I do not want to watch the video hehe

    3. Yung skypod na bahay nya ang daming leaks at ang daming problema even before sila binagyo. Then nung bumagyo na ang daming damage. Glass house din yung bahay nila so sobrang init kapag mainit talaga. Imagine that is his own house na ha, di ko sure kung natutukan nya ba ang construction nun. That says a lot about his “reliability”.

Eto yung maganda lang sa conceptualization but would be a nightmare to actually live in, he's basically trashing the environment for his huge ego.

      Delete
    13. @2:54 ayan tayo sa third world mindset e. Engineers and architects are creative problem solvers. I would understand pa kung ang ipinaglalaban nyo is "making an intelligent, concious choices" to preserve the environment without halting progress. But the way I see, you hated the project just cause its easier to act like a hero, an not the villain.

      Delete
    14. Creative problem solvers but not with this project. 1. Hindi madali makakuha ng water supply sa mountainous and high areas sa Cebu - to meet this basic need magiging unnecessarily costly ang project. 2. The project is located in the outskirts na kung saan ang public road na pa in at out ay narrow- dagdag traffic na naman. Anong problem ang naso solve nyan?

That is akin to quarrying. It will only benefit the few people who will live there but thousands will suffer in low-lying areas dahil sa mga punong pinutol.

  71. This is what you call greenwashing, when a company is claiming to promote positive environmental effect that does not exist. Sustainable and green kuno but in turn you are ruining natural landscape with possible detrimental environmental effects.
