    5. If Inquirer is standing by its article then for sure totoo.

Pwede naman ang honeymoon date nila, a week after siyang matapos sa official duties niya as a public official.

    3. I agree with 2:37, she has just as much a voice as Arjo on the matter. Plus, the insinuation is quite heavy to keep mum about.

    7. luh, ano tingin mo dyan research paper na dapat icite and source? they dont need to mention their source to protect it. otherwise, sino pa magtitiwaa magbigay mg info sa kanila. also, the fact that they stick to it, means, matibay ang document nila, and maine deleted her tweet pa

  8. sa tingin ko lang... i think yung beef ni madam is yung word na "official." pag kasi sinabing official, may budget from gobyerno. eh sila ang gagastos kaya reak si madmoysel. hindi ata masyadong klaro yung pagka explain niya and with matching side comments kaya ayan. bungisngis si menggay pero yung mga X twits niya parang laging irita haha

    1. Maine herself said there are two kinds of official trips. She admitted na official nga ang trip. Sana nagfile na lang kasi ng leave si Arjo kasi para sa film niya tapos nakaofficial travel, kahit pa expensed out of pocket, mali pa rin. Kung rank and file employee yan do yan iaapprove for sure

      Delete

  10. But it is an official business trip so bayad salary ni Arjo, so he’s being paid by taxpayers to go on vacation.

He should’ve just took an LOA para walang mag taas ng kilay

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True. As a government employee, pansin ko maraming walang delicadeza sa mga officials. Seems like maine is so naive about sa politics and government systems. Gudlak, maine. You need to learn.

      Delete
    2. This!

The rest, never mind.

      Delete
    4. Di ba entitled naman ang employees to paid vacation and sick leaves from the employer?

      Delete
    5. There is such a thing as paid leave, even outside the government. You are permitted to take vacation even as a salaried employee and your salary doesn’t stop

      Delete
    6. So true. Basically paid pa din ng public funds yung isa sa kanila during the official trip/honeymoon

      Delete

      Delete
    8. 8:30 pm according sa article ng Inquirer, Arjo will continue working remotely. He should not be working at all if mag opt sya ng paid leave, which is more advisable as 3:03 pm said.

      Delete
    9. But if it is paid leave, sana di na ginamit yung word na official. Kaya nagkaproblema eh. Official travel meankng walang leave na ipinasa. So nakabakasyon sya while earning leavr while pinapasahod pa rin

      Delete
    10. 8:30 this isn't a paid leave. This is an official trip. It means it's on official time. Kung paid leave yan, hindi yan official. Arjo should have just filed the leave

      Delete
    11. 7:40 THIS IS AN OFFICIAL TRIP. Meaning, nagbyabyahe sila for work and bayad ang trip nila ng Govt!!!

      Delete
    12. 8:30 - yes, may paid leave both in/out of government . What you missed to understand is that paid leave means nababawas sa leave entitlement mo. Since this is “official”, it means hindi nabawasan ang leave entitlement nya. Ergo, he can still take another trip using his unused leaves.

      Delete
    13. 10:24 and if you think about it "working remotely" is a lame excuse kasi as a congressman marami syang duties na hindi magagampanan because he is not physically present in the chamber. You cant cast a vote if you arent there!

      Delete
    14. Teka lang, I'm not a fan of both and just speaking objectively.. let's say official trip nga at bayad ng govt ang salary ni Arjo.. as far as I'm aware there are 24hours in a day at di naman 24hours ang work niya. Did they claim na honeymoon trip yan? Ako kase when I got married, I had to go on a business trip afterwards (di ko ma-leave because once a year conference siya) at sinamahan ako ng spouse ko because newlyweds kame so ayaw namin maghiwalay agad agad.. my work finishes at 5pm so after that we'll go out, roam around ng konti then go for a nice dinner or stay lang sa hotel.. I guess my point is - pwede naman un gawin sa official trip without breaking any rules.

      Delete
That is journalism 101. I feel like they’re hiding behind their “highly placed sources.” Ang dating tuloy it’s like they wrote a hit piece against Arjo, which isn’t surprising.

    ReplyDelete

    1. You keep your sources confidential. Yan ang journalism 101. Wag kang mema, girl. The fact na pinadelete kay maine ang tweet means inq is correct. Take your fantard glasses off.

      Delete
    6. 5:07 They can publish what they want because they can “choose to keep their sources confidential”. You get what I mean? Pwedeng tama sila, pwedeng mali. Pero we’ll never know kasi protected sila from showing their proof or lack thereof.

      Delete
    7. I think what 3:31 is saying ang “source” ni Inquirer is info na readily available so why not cite it in the beginning? They can easily verify this information instead of making it look like something fishy is going on behind the scenes. From the start, may certain angle na agad yung article and the timing is quite suspect.

      Delete
    8. @5:07 Not even a fan. But there’s a time when sources can be kept confidential and may time din na pwede mo i-cite lalo na kung public info naman. The point is, they can easily verify if the trip is personally paid or not, without needing “confidential sources.” But the writer made it sound like the couple is doing something illegal when semantics lang naman pala between official time vs official business.

      Delete
    9. Mga fantards if you’re politician you’re being scrutinized 24/7 by the people, government and by your opponents

    10. Sabi ni 3:31, source documents. not reveal the source but the documents backing their claim.

      Delete
If you do, then hindi yun news. PR yun. You are allowing them to preempt and worse, dictate your story.
3:31 : obviously, wala kang alam sa journalism. Opposite ng journalism 101 ata ang alam mo. Ang sources, you protect them - that is journalism 101.

      Delete
    12. 3:31 wag kang gawa gawa ng 101 mo dyan hahaha look at the Rules of Court, may privilege granted to journalists to keep their sources anonymous

  17. One-sided reporting naman ang Inquirer. On one hand it claims they have information from source that they refuse to mention (why????) and on another, they refuse to take into consideration the statement of the couple who is the subject of their reporting.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 4:50 i dont mind inquirer not publicising all their sources kasi some whistleblowers need anonymity, pero ng alam ko proper journalistic practice is to contact the person who is the subject of the article (arjo) so they have a chance to respond and defend themselves before the article is published.

  18. Yan ang sinasabing prudence. Isipin mo may mga bagay2 na pwd ba talaga gawin at a given time taking into consideration status ni Arjo and ano magiging consequences. 20. Published na po ang Travel Authority ni Arjo, which is a requirement for a govt employee to clear immigration. Explicit yung subject, "Official Travel Authority to Switzerland, Italy, and Greece," in his capacity as Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Creative Industry and Peforming Arts. Exempted tuloy siya sa travel tax.

Although nakasulat din dun sa certificate na hindi siya nagrequest ng government fund for the trip and at own personal expense.

Maine could have clarified it better rather than reacting impulsively.

    1. 5:22 Maine clearly did not understand the situation as well as she thought kaya napareact ng bongga. Tbh even with this clarification Arjo's actions are still sus. He misrepresented the nature of the trip so not only is he exempt from travel tax as you said, he will be pretending to work for one month as vice chair of cinema etc etc when we know thats BS and he is just taking a vacation. Sana nag keave na lang.

  28. Arjo is ultimately at fault for the confusion dahil pinagsasabay nya yung showbiz and political career. Sabihin na natin he used his own money to attend the film fest. Why classify it as an "official" trip as though it were part of his congressional duties? Ganito pa balak nya gawin in future, attend his own movie screenings while on the clock with the excuse that he chairs a "special commitee of performing arts" chuchu? Wag ganyan, keep your two jobs separate.

  37. No govt funds will be used pero bayad si Arjo. Natural nasa calendar nila yan.

  38. Bakit nya kasi tinaon sa honey moon. nya yung official trip nya. To visit Filipino communities - for what?

  40. Kung kasama sa official government trip yung destination along with the date, obviously kahit yung ticket is included. So they can’t say 100% personal expense.

  41. I doubt that’s the last time na magkaka-issue yan si Arjo. Good luck sa pagtatanggol Miss Maine.

  44. Stay strong, Arjo and Maine! People will always have something bad to say when you’re a politician. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. You knew this was the life you’re gonna be entering. There’s a renewed interest in the both of you so better keep it on the low muna.

  49. I am for Maine and she comes from a nonpolitical background, but knowing his husband is one of the congressmen to push Maharlika fund as law nagiging sus na sya for me. I say RESIBO din if naglabas na ung Inquirer and if they really want to close this once and for all.

  50. Arjo is attending the premiere of his film at that European film festival while Congress is in session. So instead of attending the sessions in Congress he will be in Europe ostensibly in his capacity as Vice Chair of that arts committee. He could have scheduled his Europe visit and honeymoon while Congress is in recess but he is going to Europe to attend the film festival - while Congress is in session. The excuse he is using ( and it is in the official document ) is he is doing it as part of his role as vice chair of the committee. But his real reason is he wants to go to the premiere of his film. ( and I'm sure they will add how by attending the festival he is helping promote Philippine cinema on the global stage etc etc ) Ms. Maine maybe needs a crash course in governmental ethics. Just because a public official pays his own way for a foreign trip doesn't make it totally right. What if that trip for personal reasons is on official government time. When Arnold Schwarzenegger was Governor of California he put his acting career on hold (although he did make some cameo appearances while governor). Wonder if Inquirer will dig up next how many absences Arjo has racked up because of his acting work. That information is public and readily available.

    3. When Alfred Vargas became congressman, he put his acting career on hold. Seems like Arjo wants to coast both worlds and the wife is just as entitled. Ang yayaman pero walang delicadeza.

    4. I think naka official time nga sya. I did something like this once, attended a convention abroad for 3 days but stayed there for a week so I toured and visited relatives on the side. All on my expense but naka official time ako the whole trip. I just wrote the head of our institution a letter stating the purpose of my trip and showed supporting documents and the trip was approved.
      Eto a whole month?!?

  52. as a wife of a government employee, i can relate naman na ang liit ng sweldo ng gobyerno kaya i need to work hard and todo kayod para makaipon. when we got married, nagvacation leave naman husband ko para makapaghoneymoon kami. Buti si Arjo nakaofficial travel whether they use personal funds or not. Buti pa si your honor

  55. This is Arjo and Maine trying to justify Arjo's not taking a leave for their honeymoon by saying they are using their personal funds. Simple as that. Doesn't make it right, Maine..

    1. Most employed people on full time contracts include time off and are paid while they’re on holiday, so I don’t see anything wrong with that. Ang hindi ko naintindihan yung pag aartista habang nasa politika, it’s not realistic to balance both.

  59. Maine is new. Hindi niya alam ang mga conflict of interest and maybe even Arjo was not aware na he should take leave. It takes time. Give them a break. I guess it’s becoz they’re showbiz personalities Kaya sobra ang mga patutsada.

  60. Baka kasi may approved travel order for official business (funded by govt) si Arjo abroad which coincides with their bakasyon..kaya may confusion ang mga tao kng yung official business ba or leisure yung byahe ni Arjo..

    ReplyDelete
  61. Month long.honeymoon yan disguised as a work trip. He should have filed a leave but instead thought he could just be on official business para ok lang matagal siya wala lol

  62. I think it's how the Inquirer worded it, parang implying she's part of the official trip crew meaning tax money and pambayad. You think di niyo binabayaran yun? Just look at BBMs contingent trying umaalis lahat ba yun kelangan? But lahat yun thank you Filipinos ang nag bayad.
