    6. Boccalino d'oro (Golden Jug)The jug is a wine jug. It's called a boccalino and is used in Southern Switzerland (and parts of Italy), particularly Ticino (where Locarno is located), for drinking local wine. It's representative of the local commitment to cultural tradition, and a reminder of the purpose of the annual film festival: arts and community. There!

  4. Grabe namang award yan.

  7. Hindi porket international eh prestigious na. Yang Locarno na yan provincial film fest yan parsng ung mga barangay beauty pageants.

    1. Hala obviously sa barangay ka lang nakakapunta. Locarno Film Festival is one of the most prestigious prizes in the world of independent filmmaking.

      Delete
    2. According kay google, it is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the world of independent cinema.

      Delete
    3. Obviously ignorante ka when it comes to cinema. Equate talaga ang Locarno sa barangay level? Just bc MMFF lang ang alam mo na festival eh excuse na yan to spout nonsense. Libre ang Google. Educate yourself.

    4. Although ang talangka ng comment mo 12:40 I can’t help but to agree with you.

    5. In fairness provincial as you say Pero ang galing ng red carpet nila ah

    6. Know it all ka pero walang laman. Film Festival yan teh, on it 76th year, prestigious yan sa arts and film industry. Barangay level mo mukha mo.

      Delete
    7. True.

    8. di ko alaam kung papatulan ko tong embarrasing comment mo 🀦‍♀️ research ka muna teh bago kuda - After the Venice Film Festival and alongside the Cannes Film Festival, Locano Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world, screening hundreds of films in various series and retrospectives. Locano is an old town (not baranggay levels na pinagsasabi mo) where Piazza Grande is located - the largest open air cinema in Europe! obviously bitter ka dahil baka hindi nanalo ang manok mo lol

    9. Yung mga international festival parang ganito lang naman talaga ang vibes e for independent films, prestigious but hindi naman magarbo yan

    10. “ The Locarno Film Festival is acknowledged to be one of the world's most important film festivals, and it intends to consolidate that position by optimizing creative energies and engaging its users in a multivalent community, capable of facilitating the progress of the changes ongoing along the entire audiovisual chain.” It has been running for 76 years. It does not matter what the award looks like. It’s the prestige. In fact winning these prestigious film festivals gives an actor an edge when applying for a “gifted/talented” green card here in the US.

FyI
    Boccalino d'oro means Golden Jug.

  9. Google Boccalino De Oro Award at lalabas ang present at previous winners. It is the only acting award given in Locarno Film Festival. According to the press release, this acting award is given to the best performance regardless of gender. Yun ibang actors na recipient this year were pre determined like Riz Ahmed for their contribution to film art.

  11. For the Filipino....for those killed and those they left behind.

  16. At least yung film niya appreciated outside the country. May nagawa ka ba na appreciated ng tao aside from your parents?

  17. Why so hang up on the appearance of the trophy? He won and congratulations are in order. Nakaka sad that we Filipinos are so good in fault finding, crab mentality, feeling entitled among other bad traits. We have good traits as well of course but hopefully the next generation will be better.

    1. Truee. Very mean nung iba.

  18. Congratulations! Maraming Starbucks coffee mailalagay diyan. Mga 5 trenta.

  19. Di naman kasi Cannes or Venice International Film Fest award yan. It’s not as prestigious but still an international recognition. It’s a good start.

    1. Luh recognized ka internationally te? πŸ˜‚

  20. Congrats Jlc, you brought home pride not just for yourself, but for the PH country as well! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰

  21. The top 3 most popular film festivals are Berlin, Cannes, and Venice film festivals. Swiss festival isn’t as widely known but doesn’t mean not celebrated in the film community. I don’t get the shade.

  22. Daming haters dito. Ano bang mga na accomplish niyo? Paki lista naman dito.

  23. Sa panlalait lang magaling ang mga Pinoy. Kaya nananatiling Third World.

  24. That's not a trophy! That's a pauwing Teapot to all the award winners! (sabi ko lang 🀭) Anyway, atleast John Lloyd won a best actor award yet again! Means, the acting prowess' still strong there.

    1. Ininsulto muna yung award bago purihin, can't people just praise him for a good job?

  25. Wow congrats JLC! Is it just me thinking he looks or becoming Dindo Fernando look alike? also one of the best award winning actors in PH film/TV industry in the 70s & 80s

  26. Ang negative naman ng iba dito. Let’s be kind. That’s a product of his own talent and hardwork. It might be small award for some people but you don’t know how much he has worked for it. If you have something mean to say for success of other people (na wala namang ginawang masama sa inyo πŸ˜…), maybe it’s best to keep your lips zipped.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Some of these people won’t know the effect of their words kung di pa sila makasakit ng tao. Sabi nga celebrate you wins, either small or big. That’s a win for him, let him celebrate it. Nakakaapekto ng mental health yang sinasabi nyo in the long run. JLC has struggled to come back again kaya hinay hinay sa mga salita.

  28. Bashers can never be truly happy for other’s success that’s why they remain low life pathetic. Deserving for the award , congrats JLC.

    1. Wanted to ask the same thing too. Gusto ko ring mapanood.
