    1. As a Filipino who migrated in America in his 30’s na realize ko na it all depends on the parents pala pag dito lunaki anak mo.

    3. Hindi naman din kasalanan ni Vanessa kung ‘yung mga Pinoy na nakapalibot sa kanya growing up didn’t really make an effort to teach her *Pinoy things*. mas bagay si Bret du’n sa title na binigay kay Vanessa though. Mas may magagawa siya to promote PH and hindi talaga for clout ‘yung pinoyposting niya haha

    4. 825am totoo yan. I have cousins who grew up in the US and have never been here sa Pinas and magaling mag converse in Filipino. Hindi lang updated yung slang but they can speak the language well.

Okay lang sakin wag niya i claim having pinoy roots. US but your argument here is misplaced.

She looks ordinary for me and yep I'm prettier.

    2. She is beautiful but let’s face it. If she became a huge success in Hollywood, she won’t even give our country a glance.

      Delete
    3. For the longest time, she was actually distancing herself from anything Filipino. You can feel she's not proud of her roots. Reminds me of the two halfies who hated our culture, alam nyo na...

    4. Hahaha ang sinasabi kung proud pinoy ba

    5. Watch her feature in Architecture Digest on YouTube. No trace of her Filipino heritage in her home, no mention of it also sa dinami-dami ng sinasabi n'ya. Usually yung featured dun like sila Alicia Keys are so outspoken about their heritage and all. Very telling lang na di naman talaga malaking part of her life.

      Delete
    6. Yep ngayon lang na mention because of her all expenses paid trip sponsored by taxpayers money

    8. 12:39 i dont recall the 2 saying the exact words na they hated the culture here. Just because may mga nasabi siya na hindi ikinatuwa ng former network niya, manager, and fans niya eh yun na maging basehan na she hated our culture. Wag ka naman mag generalize

      Delete
    9. 8:59 correct ka jan! Mga hater talaga … tama naman sinabi nya about toxic LT here, she just exposed it, what hate on her? she even donates money and goods to the needy pag pasko and pag may sakuna and ang laking ambag ng taxes nya ha… Kaya how dare 12:39 na mag throw shade at her. Gusto lang mag Hollywood at mag try mag expand ng reach nung tao, she just told her “truth” and people are hating her- toxic utang na loob culture

      Delete
    10. 8.59 it seems so for me, she hated the culture here. napanood mo ba yung vlog nung kapwa nya female celeb na may pa-lie detector test? she kept on saying “in the Philippines…” like p*ksh*t siya she used our country to be popular tas kung maka “in the Philippines” siya parang hindi Filipino at wala sa Pinas.

    4. 12.34 you dont follow bret noh? Im a follower of make up YT and I used to dislike him too because of his immaturity then he slowly turned around starting 2019.

By 2020 during the pandemic was when she turned her back on the make up YT community and from then, he has been mature & honestly, wholesome for me in a sense that his moral compass & lifestyle significantly improved and matured.

He spends his time in hawaii with his dogs, 100++ chickens, plants, & fam.

Just because he swears too much does not mean he does not make any sense. Vanessa, on the other hand... Remember her pandemic thoughts? Lmao. Ayaw ko na lang magtalk. Yes, they're not on the same level because vanessa is literally detached to her roots and her thoughts... Welp

  15. Bretman is very proud of being Ilocano and Filipino. Even his younger sister posed for a magazine celebrating Ilocano/Igorot heritage. Bretman still speaks Ilocano and is not ashamed to post on IG stories what he eats, especially Filipino foods, even when his millions of followers are from different countries and cultures and celebrities like Gigi Hadid follow him.

  18. Haha well, he's not wrong. I don't blame Vanessa - her mom probably isn't too fond of her Filipino roots either. To each his own, BUT, the government definitely chose the wrong ambassador. Both because she's never acknowledged it let alone become an ambassador, and also because she's not that influential anyway. Her, Appl d Ap, Brandon Vera, Manny Pacquiao, Lea Salonga, Bret - heck, even Jokoy would've been better candidates.

    2. 5:04, Stop saying that. It is never bakya to be proud of your roots. Nasobrahan ang pagkainis nyo sa mga nagsasabi ng proud pinoy but look around you, most foreigners are proud of their countries kahit hindi perfect ang bansa nila. This kind of mentality na bakya ang maging proud pinoy will only make us kulelat compared sa iba. Just look at the new Hybe girl group reality show na puro foreigners ang contestants including the PH na first time nila sinali. Top comments with the most engagements galing sa kanila. Walang top comment na galing sa pinas supporting our girl. Why? It's because of the mindset that you have. SO WRONG.

  21. I believe Vanessa was not exposed to Filipino culture growing up unlike Bretman, Apl de Ap (who lived their early years in the Philippines) and H.E.R, that is why she does not or cannot identify with her Filipino heritage and that’s okay, but her endorsing the Philippines all of a sudden was weird for me.

      Delete
  25. This is why madaming youtubers na foreigners ang kumikita sa pinas. We love to have our ego stroked when someone proudly declares being a filipino or loves the filipinos for whatever different reasons.

Vanessa may be half but she wasnt born amd raised in the pi so of course she has more of the western influence. Ive seen too many filipino families here whose kids can fully understand the language but cant fluently speak it as one becomes an adult. So there’s that. Can’t blame hudgens here. Not sure if people also realize that vanessa’s image is largely dictated by how her manager/team wants the public to perceive her. At the height of her popularity, DIVERSITY wasn’t as loud as today. Again, perception and image in hollywood are all just that..

And this bretman guy is totally riding the controversy for their own benefit.. 🙄

    5. 11:06 koreans sees SEAs as inferior because of our skin color and the fact na we are not a confucian country, so maliit talaga ang chance na may umusbong na ph celeb sa SK. At some point, there was also a filipina there who worked as an actress and was elected from public office.

    9. 1.06 tama naman din na prioritize nila yung own people nila. kahit mga Japanese ganyan din.

    10. I never said koreans must prioritize Filipinos. Where did you even get that??? Napaka-klaro ng post ko, I WAS ONLY LOOKING FOR A SINGLE FAMOUS FILIPINO IN KOREA like how Sandara became famous here in the PH. The Filipinos who appeared as extras in some movie or tv series are NOT famous even the one who was elected in office. They don't even like her, they wanted her to go back home.
See, this happens all the time when koreaboos try to defend their oppas. Nagiging exaggerated sila.
It's also not true that korea don't prioritize foreigners... THEY DO, BUT ONLY WHITE PEOPLE. Look at how many white koreaboos that they instantly put in their tv shows and movies. Even if they can't act and have zero acting background in their countries, basically they are NOBODIES from where they came from but once they go to korea boom! AUTOMATIC ACTRESSES, ACTORS, TV HOSTS.

And since you mentioned Japan... IT'S NOT JUST ONE BUT A LOT OF FILIPINOS OR HALF FILIPINOS ALREADY BECAME FAMOUS THERE THROUGH THE YEARS. The Japanese are really nicer and more welcoming to Filipinos than Koreans. There, I said it.

Madaling makalimot ang pinoy. Convicted na ipapanalo pa sa election. Inuuna ang tsismis kesa paunlarin ang buhay. Lahat ginagawang biro. Lahat joke.

Hayaan nalang natin.
