  1. Sana malinaw na sa lahat. Siguro naman maine is satisfied with this na. The trip is official but expensed out of pocket.

    1. Hehehe the point is, hnd sya nakaleave so binabayaran sya ng taong bayan para sa travel (kapag kasama si Maine, baka honeymoon) nya. 🤣

    2. May travel tax exemption nga siya eh. Dapat nag leave na lang siya. Anyway, ganyan talaga mga nakapwesto. Wala pa yan sa mga perks and privileges nila.

      Delete
    3. More on napahiya sya.

      Delete
    4. Where does it say na hindi siya nag leave? Isa sa prerequisites ng TA is an approved leave form

    5. Syempre nagawan na yan ng paraan no

    6. To witness international screening... To visit Filipino Communities in Italy and Greece... from Aug 5-27.

Siguro naman 1 day lang yung international screening, so kailangan ng 3 weeks para sa meet and greet? Aba magaling, pakilista lahat ng grupong imi-meet at kelan, ktnxbye.

Kung mas mura na tumuloy from one trip to another, this is usually done kaysa uuwi sa Pinas in between travels. Even sa ibang bansa, we do this. It is also allowed to combine official and personal travels as long as you pay for the personal part.

      Delete
    8. baka naman leave without pay? hahahah

    9. 7:25 baks magpakatotoo tayo. You really think he is doing any kind of government work sa official trip na yan? Come on.

      Delete
    10. 725 official travel means travelling in his CAPACITY AS AN ELECTED GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL. Alam namin yan madam wag kang mema. Kung talagang malinis yan si Arjo, inihiwalay nya sana ang travel nya as a private person sa official travel nya. Hindi yan alang alang sa pagtitipid o convenience on their part. madam. ALANG ALANG YAN SA TINATAWAG NA DELICADEZA bilang public servant.

      Delete
    14. 225 and 226 iisa lang ang comment mo. Hanap damay ka pa. The fact na Arjo was not transparent at first eh alam mo naman, he’s up to no good. And tama nga ang inquirer. While he will use his personal money for the trip, his salary for 3 weeks will still be paid by the Filipino tax money. Your own tax money are paying for your idol’s salary so he could go for a honeymoon in Europe with his wife.
Let that sink in to you 😉

      Delete
    15. 2:26 vacation yung kay isko dai, not "official trip". Hindi na nga sya mayor non

      Delete

      Delete
    17. Dapat lang. Hindi na dapat bigyang kulay dahil Hindi Naman corrupt as of now.

      Delete
    18. 225 exactly!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not really. INQ was right as they only pertained about the newly weds going on an official trip after the wedding. It is no longer a requirement to write any other supplemental details from the main topic. Writing in news has limited sections and words. Maine could have just discussed the additional info in her vlog lol ayan tuloy nascrutinize pa

      Delete
    2. 1217 the statement saying he will travel by his own expense was deliberately tsken out. for sure alot of people will react negatively kaya nga yomg wife ngarag sa pag clear ng name nila dahil maraming uto-uto na naniniwala at bash kaagad without verifying facts...

      Delete
    3. Anong irresponsible? Yung article ng Inquirer copied practically word for word the travel authority issued to Atayde.

      Delete
    4. True 1217. Pero maine took it the wrong way and questioned Inquirer’s credibility. Syempre dedepensa ang Inquirer, since their credibility is important.

Lagi na lang naninidak si meng when called out, relying on her blind followers to back her up.

      Delete
    5. No. By not clarifying, Inquirer implied about the expense. If they really had no intentions, why didn't they clarify? Why wait for the matter to blow out of proportion?

      Delete
    6. May travel authority kasi eh at usually government expenses yan. Exemption un hindi sagot ng government

      Delete
    7. Syempre there was an intent of malice para mapagusapan but honestly it wouldnt have blown out of proportion have maine been quiet and just brushed it off for the time being. she even called them out as fake news when the fact is inq only noted it as an official trip after the wedding - nothing wrong with that so i wouldnt really say that as irresponsible journalism

      Delete
    8. Ano ka ngayon Maine?! Hahaha

      Delete
    9. 1233 how did you know it was deliberately taken out? the news was only about them going on an official trip.

      Delete
    10. not necessarily na sagot ng govt pag may issued travel authority 1:29. Kasi mandatory for all government employees who want to travel outside of the country na magpresent ng travel authority. kahit nayou will be using your leave.

      Delete
    11. 1:29 for government employees, need ng TO for both personal and official travels

      Delete
    12. Anon 12:33 I read the same article from INQ and Philippine Star (online) AT walang ano mang ommission as you claim dahil those newspapers were merely reporting about Arjo's OFFICIAL trip as a member of congress during his honeymoon.

      Delete
    13. Basahin kasi yung content not just title. Tapos sasabihin niyo irresponsible journalism. Kayo irresponsible readers. Puwede ding tamad lang bumasa, poor comprehension lang, or nega overthinker lang talaga.

      Delete
    14. Maine fans who were so quick to bash inq, just take the L and go. You keep moving the goalposts makadefend lang. Nakakahiya na.

      Delete
    15. 1.29 may travel authority lahat ng nagta-travel na govt employee whether for work or personal. magkaiba lang ang tawag or depende ata sa office. kaya usually, lalo pag public school teacher, hindi dine-declare ng iba na govt sila kapag hindi sila nakakapag-secure niyan.

      Delete
    16. 5:15 WRONG. Travel order is for official travel only. Magkaiba yan.

      Delete
Ang dating sa akin yung visit ek ek from aug 5 to aug 27 is just a reason to make the trip long. Malamang honeymoon talaga sana yan. Newlyweds ba naman. But now that naleak na, goodbye official honeymoon. Hope maine learns her lesson na wag magmagaling bec she is clearly very naive and uninformed about arjo's affairs as a politician.

      Delete
    7. Why will Maine not react? At nagmamagaling daw eh she and Arjo were being mercilessly bashed precisely bec of the INQ article, which was deleted the same day but reposted, deleted then reposted for the 3rd time. She has the right to defend herself.

      Delete

  6. So ano ba talaga Mrs. Atayde? “Official” travel pa din naman pala because ginamit din nya yung duty nya as Vice-Chair. Sana LOA di ba

    ReplyDelete

Eh samantalang si Arjo wala pa isang taon ha pero absinero na in the guise of an official trip hahahaha.

    2. 1:11 truuuuuuuutttttthhhhh.

      Delete
    8. Movie din niya yun. Conflict of interest?

      Delete
    9. Why should PDI apologize? Tama naman ang report nila and tama din that they stood by their story. If may mali, then let the Ataydes file a case against them.

      Delete
    10. 11:56 si maine ba nag apologise for calling them fake news? So quits lang.

      Delete
    11. Nilabasan ng resibo, bwahahaha! Sino fake news at uninformed ngayon?

      Delete
    12. Why should Inquirer apologize? If you look at the date of certification letter stating Arjo would be using his own money for the trip, it was 8/02/2023.

      Delete
    14. Si Maine dapat mag apologize sa inquirer. That’s defamation.

      Delete
    15. Why should Maine apologize? She and Arjo were bashed bec of that misleading article INQ posted which insinuates that they will use govt funds. InQ deleted the post and reposted with updates twice.

      Delete
  9. So tama si Inquirer. Official trip nga, only, Arjo will be be personally defraying the expenses. Pero as I understand, hindi naka-leave during the said trip kasi official e.

So mag-iintay sila after Aug 27 para sa personal trip aka honeymoon??? Lokohan na ito.

      Delete
    2. 12:15 ikaw ang hindi marunong umintindi. There is no "after", pinagsabay nila talaga. Arjo filed the entire period of Aug 5- 27 as a congressional work trip kahit konti lang naman ang official itinerary and the rest is honeymoon.

      Delete
    3. 9:25 is correct. Talasan ang reading comprehension, 12:15

I visited the main post nung Inquirer, everyone’s just wishing them a happy trip

    1. For me, malicious pa rin ang dating ng article if you omit facts as important as funding (tax money). Nag-aral din ako ng Journ ethics.

      Delete

      Delete
    3. 1247 learning about journ ethics is different from publishing your news in real life. it's a cut throat industry, and if we're being honest these news sites need traction, they are afterall still a business

    4. Still malicious. Official government travel at own’s expense is an exception rather than the norm.

      Delete
    5. 1247am the July 10 travel order didn't say Arjo did not request for funding for the trip so there are no details to "omit". Sa Aug 2 memo lang lumabas yang detail na yan after the newlyweds' defensive posts.

Kasi mas maraming for personal ganap lang ang gagawin nya doon, kesa as Cong. e. At ang tagal talaga? So hindi as Cong.

  40. Politicians should not be allowed to hold side jobs like acting. It's ridiculous. The meet and greets with Filipino communities sound so lame too. How many other politicians use that excuse?

    1. True, if you run for politics, once elected, focus na dapat sa public service. Step out muna dapat sa limelight.

  41. Ang malas naman nila! Inisked pa talaga yung "official trip" just days after their wedding.

  42. Mga comments dito as if sa congress nagtatrabaho.

  44. Media is all about sensationalism. News ba kung aalis ang government official? Pero kung may hint that something is done wrong then it becomes news. So deliberate yon sa part ng INQ dahil alam nila marites capital of the world ang Pinas.

    3. as you said, media is about sensationalism. they delivered the news, probably with a bit of inuendo but that doesnt diminish the fact that what they published were true. Have the newly weds been quiet about it, it wouldnt have this much attention. besides, it wasnt only INQ who delivered the news. i have read it in some other news site as well, why single out INQ? i guess this is all on them...

  45. Congress is in session while Arjo is in Europe for three weeks for his honeymoon slash working trip. He could have just taken a short trip for the premiere and then gone back home immediately so as not to miss the sessions in Congress. But he extended his travel because it is also his honeymoon. At the same time, since he is not on official leave (since he is meeting with OFW groups as a legislator and attending the premiere because he is vice chair of that arts committee - it is all in the official document ) he will still be drawing a salary. Even if he is not in the country to attend the sessions of Congress. So in a sense, he is STILL using public funds for the trip. Maybe Arjo and Maine could have deferred that nearly month long trip to when Congress is in recess. But it looks like this trip was planned a while back.

  50. Gov Employees needed TO to travel kahit personal or on Official Business, Ngayon kung personal funds ang gagamitin, bakit sya exempted sa Travel Tax? So ayun na nga >.<

  51. Mr. & Mrs. Atayde should have moved their honeymoon trip to another date. A week of deferment could have "saved" them from issues. Just an opinion.

  52. People are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Of course the guy will go on a honeymoon! I work all the time when I’m traveling. And people are allowed to get paid time off. He has an arts role in as part of his official duty right? So why not kill three birds by attending the Locarno film fest? Why don’t we focus on the real issues
