  2. Deserve. America Ferrera’s monologue brought me to tears. I also loved that Barbie found and forged her own path. This is how you do a feminist movie without making men the enemy.

    1. I agree! I thought it but the right note. And it was so funny. Ryan gosling COMMITTED.

    2. And yet it’s easy for men to belittle and diminish a woman’s worth and men even ganging up to normalize such behaviours towards women. Anytime woman goes up in the world, it immediately threatens the male ego. God forbid masasaktan yung feelings ng mga lalake when things go well for women. Ang “sad”. Haha

    3. Ako naman, na-cornyhan sa monologue niya. It seemed too OA and predictable? Could’ve been better if may pinakitang background ng character niya to support all the hugot she has

    4. Pinakita girl baka nakatulog ka.

    1. Yup! The script could have been better. I was expecting Toy Story-ish levels…

    1. Then you are not the target audience. Some people even watched it 3x because they loved it so much. So deserve nya yung hype na nakukuha nya. :)

    2. @2:27 Yeah definitely not the target audience since I didn't like her not my friends who got hooked from watching the trailer. We really thought it was as good as the trailer, hut meh.. I will rate it 6/10. Also, in my opinion Margot isn't cut for the role. Can't really picture her playing the Barbie role.

    3. Kahapon lang ako nanood upon learning na its a blockbuster. For me the trailer wasnt good at feeling ko hyped nga but after watching it may sense pala. No wonder blockbuster sya. I will watch it again.

  7. Didn’t like the movie TBH. It’s not even “Barbie” at all. My younger sisters couldn’t even what their favorite doll in action.

    1. True. Kaya kumita kasi sa hype. Malalaman natin kung quality film tlga yan kung magkakaOscar yan

      Delete
    2. 1:52 think pede nga magkaOscar ito. Production and costume. Ang ganda kasi ng Barbie world setting and nang mga costumes nila.

      Delete

If anything lalo nga lumakas ang awards buzz nya bc of its box office.

    5. So what kind of barbie movie do you want?

Hirap kasi sa pinoy ang patok na story "revenge" or "war" or "damsel in distress na nirescue ng lalaki"

  8. Marketing Hype is Real

  9. Hyping the hype. Movie is so-so. It’s like another movie na pinilit singit ang barbie chracter.

    1. Ano kaya gusto nilang kwento for barbie?

  11. Infer bawing bawi gastos sa production at movie promotion. Okay naman ung movie for me especially ung monologue ni America Ferrera.may mga parts lang na na bore ako. It’s not barbie na barbie movie talaga.

  13. Got bored watching this movie, the director's weakest movie for me, but congratulations, talagang pinaghandaan nila ang marketing they even called it operation summer barbie,

    1. Yes. Same. Bored to sleep. i like Ryan Gosling kaya ko pinanuod. Ok naman acting nya. The story is not for me lang siguro

  14. Sobrang boring neto.

    1. Agree! I only enjoyed the part when Ken sang “Push by Matchbox 20” very nostalgic to hear it! The rest, very cringey!

  15. Wala akong balak panoorin haha tho margot is pretty i think she and the rest are so miscast!

    1. Somehow, true. Si Margot okay okay pa. Ang ganda and may youthful vibe sya kaya keri. But si Ryan, i really think na he's too old looking for the role.

      Delete
    2. But Barbie and Ken ay di na rin naman bata, iba iba nga trabaho niya di ba. Kaya ok na yan and Ryan is really guapo at eye candy, magaling din umarte.

  17. I watched the film pero hindi ako naantig sa ending. I was expecting na may gut-wrenching moment dahil sa pinapa hype nilang reviews from the US, pero wala talaga eh… Ako lang ba yung naka feel nun?

    1. Sinasadya nila ganyang ending parang hanging cguro if magclick may barbie 2.

  18. I kinda like Margot. But this movie, hyped lang talaga. All the promotions, marketing strat were all so Barbie that's to get the fancy of the the "Barbie doll" fanatics. But the movie isn't all about something Barbie. It's all just hyped with all the pinks & blonde.

  19. We could all learn from their marketing efforts.

  20. Not the best movie that you would watch multiple times but Director Greta G. approach is different and teaches a good lesson for young girls but needs the guidance of their mothers/aunties/sisters to understand the inspiring message of America’s character

  21. Atleast sulit ang over promo.

  23. Pretty good $$$ for a meh movie

  24. Watched the movie twice and cried both times. The movie resonates talaga when you think about your worth and life. Dasurv Barbie.

  25. fave ko si weird barbie ahahah
