It's much more complex than that. Did tape EB really last 44 years if literally no OG founders are left, the core audience is gone, and they can't even call their show eat bulaga? Tape EB is basically over at spot holder nalang siya till showtime replaces them. TVJ EB on the other hand, has the founders--one who came up with the name eat bulaga and the other who wrote the theme song, as well as the loyal audiences who grew up with the show. You can never take that away with a mere technicality. Kahit makuha pa ng TAPE yung EB name, do they really have it if no one acknowledges nor believes that they rightfully own that name? Parang walang nuance tayong magisip na mga pinoy. We think like mindless employees who treat employers and companies as absolute authorities na source of everything, hence they can take anything and everything from an individual because they can pay for it. Welp, us human beings are more complicated than that and at some point there are things na hindi kayang tapatan ng pera.

When TAPE celebrates this so called Eat Bulaga anniversary, would there be an acknowledgement of the past 44 years? Sa true lang. Like many new employees of big prestigious companies who have been in the business for 100 yrs for example would still feel out of place and uncomfortable to “celebrate” because they were never part of those 100 yrs. Would the new EB hosts be sincerely happy to celebrate and acknowledge how it all started? Well, pwede kasi scripted, trabaho lang. Just saying.
Sa totoo lang umingay lang ulit silang TVJ nitong nagkaissue pero other than that, same old show lang sila na napaglipasan na. Kahit si Bossing na mismong lead host e hindi na din patok. Wala na rin siyang movies ngayon. As for Eat Bulaga, medyo may pag-asa pa kasi malakas talaga si Isko sa masa lately.
Whether it's the use of 'Eat Bulaga' or saying "44 years", kahit sabihing legal pa, as a viewer, it does feel weird to see folks not associated with Eat Bulaga celebrating their "44 years".
