Lea's approach and tone were more of tense than being rude. She was alone in a dressing room and all of a sudden, here come strangers coming into her room. Maski ako mate-tense. Andami kayang mga baliw na fans who can be stalkers or killers. I hope fans would understand where she's coming from and know their boundaries.
True.. that's also what I got from her tone. She was surprised (in a bad way), imagine these strangers were suddenly in her dressing room and she was clearly on her own sa video.. she tensed right up. Blurt out "who are you? In the first place, why wasn't there any security or a bouncer to mind the dressing room of Lea. The safety and security of the performer/celebrity should be part of the protocol when the contract was signed.

Well whatever kung mabait ka talaga makikita in any situation. Lea was not in the wrong maybe her reaction was warranted but kindness will always shine through. No matter how much we preach to be kind etc genuine kindness and humility is tested in actual scenarios esp when under pressure.

Actually, bordering on harassment na yung ginawa nila. Yung binayaran nila is for the show, not to invade Lea's privacy. Yes, privacy ni Lea yung iniinvade nila because that is her own dressing room, her own personal space.

ReplyDeleteLea's approach and tone were more of tense than being rude. She was alone in a dressing room and all of a sudden, here come strangers coming into her room. Maski ako mate-tense. Andami kayang mga baliw na fans who can be stalkers or killers. I hope fans would understand where she's coming from and know their boundaries.

She was surprised (in a bad way), imagine these strangers were suddenly in her dressing room and she was clearly on her own sa video.. she tensed right up. Blurt out "who are you? I dont know you" like she was cornered.. walang mali sa reaction at tone niya as far as Im concerned. People don't realize that she's an international artist. Mas wide ang range ng fans niya, she meets all sorts of people so di pwede maging complacent.

DeleteSa western countries ay normal lang yang pinakitang ugali ni Lea. Mga Pinoy kasi sensitive kaya iniisip na may pagkamasungit ang dating ni Lea. Buti natuto na ko na huwag masyado maging balat-sibuyas kasi katrabaho ko puro Americans yung tipong sasabihin talaga nila sa iyo directly yung gusto nila sabihin. I think na-adapt na din ni Lea yung ganung ugali dahil international artist sya.

ReplyDeleteLea Salonga is already what you call, perhaps, “Americanized”? She is a Filipino, yes. But I think her culture is now of that of the Americans. She is straightforward, which for some, or majority of the Pinoys, it sounds mataray. Sanay kasi tayo na mga Pinoy na malumanay makipag usap. Clearly, Lea is no longer like that. Her tone of speaking is no longer like that. I don’t see anything wrong with that though. She just adapted to how Americans talk, I guess.

I can understand this cause sometimes it's just exhausting to be always understanding. We shouldn't stop trying tho :)

No matter how much we preach to be kind etc genuine kindness and humility is tested in actual scenarios esp when under pressure.

Na-offend for the fans but she was so firmed na bawal at hindi niya pagbibigyan kahit pa producer or friend ng producer. I think what was annoying was name dropping. Pag ganun kasi, pinapalabas mo na may backer ka so manlalamang ka dun sa ibang walang backer. It escalated lang dahil makulit yung nag name drop na naghihintay daw sila eme.

Natural offended yan pag hindi napagbigyan yung favor. Let's not normalize yung pakiusap or dahil may backer. Lea's approach is more of westernized style straight forward no sugar coating baka gusto ni Janno Pinoy style yung mag po pa si Lea with malambing tone and smile kahit di maganda ang pakiramdam mo.. id rather be true to myself than being nice and plastik.. masyadong emotional kasi mga Pinoy

The guard said in a polite manner naman, You are in the Philippines not in your country, you should follow our country's health protocols or leave the grocery if you don't want to follow.

She might be frank to tell them they don’t know them that’s why she can’t let them enter and entertain them inside the dressing room which is a her private space. She told them just to go to designated area , sinabi pa nga nya na wag sa labas pumunta, just within the door (inside) for picture taking. Yun mga intrusive people pa nga ang rude and parang nagpupumilit pa kesyo pinoy sila. Passive-agressive pa comments kay Lea “ganda ganda mo/galing galing mo tlga”.

Siguro mga sobrang bait na artista na mga yon kasi napifeel nila ang effort ng fans/fan. To think sa eksena with Lea, hindi naman totally pumasok mismo sa DR, nag greet palang sa labas tinawag na ni lea na hindi nya ito mga kilala which is may konting hurt or insulting yon.
ReplyDeleteAlam mo ba mismo yung policy nila sa event na yan? For example, allowed ba na pumunta sa dressing room at magpa-picture ng walang pasabi o pahintulot ng organizers? Consider those factors muna bago mo isisi sa artista. Wag mo ding kalimutan na si Lea yan. Napakadisiplinadong tao. You know how she values basic etiquette. Hindi magtatagal sa industriya yan kung bastos siya sa fans niya. Hindi siya basta magre-react ng ganyan kung walang valid reason.
