ReplyDeleteLakas maka nostalgia ng TVJ. Yung overall feels ng show lumang luma. Yung songs, itsura nila, audience, jokes, pati yung kahon na may papremyo. Puro 1980s ang dating.
ReplyDeleteI must agree with you but only to some point dahil hindi naman palaging luma ang TVJ lalo na sa creative segments and games na pinapasikat nilla na di magaya ng iba, I guess most filipinos esp the older generations prefer just wholesome family entertainment they can relate to na walang okrayan or bastusan. yung makakapag reminisce sila ng kanilang kabataan.
DeleteNot everything needs to be too trendy. There is a reason why IS revived tawag ng tanghalan. May component dapat ng familiarity at being close to home yung mga programs like noontime variety, TV news, at magazine shows. Look at what GMA did to wish ko lang and jessica soho for the sake of being trendy. Also, EB is still primarily responsible sa pagevolve ng variety shows. Yung huling peak nila 7 ish years ago via all for juan/kalyeserye is impressive given na 40+ years na yung show. When was the last time jeopardy or wheel of fortune reinvented themselves like that.

DeleteThe world changed drastically due to the pandemic and people, esp Filipinos, are grasping for the familiar, safe and comfortable such as TVJ and EB dabarkads. Ito ang nalimutan ni J bros. Congrats MVP, Aling Puring, Hanabishi etc., you still have your fingers on the pulse of the filipino, saan man sa mundo.
