I'm a 41 year old lesbian and I say we have to push for inclusivity and be woke (not pa-woke) in order to let others know na marami tayong kinasanayan na hindi ok at dapat baguhin. Compassion and acceptance nga, sabi mo. Hindi mo naman dapat talaga ipilit, pero you have to make a stand and make it known that some things are not ok. Pride is not just a celebration, it's a protest. Pag may mali, kailangan ipaalam mo na mali yun, otherwise ipagpapatuloy lang nila.

I'm part of the lgbt community and this issue screams vindictive to me. That encounter happened many years ago, when things were different pa and the world wasn't as open to queerness as it is now. They should have let the band explain themselves because maybe their beliefs have shifted with the times na din. Back in hs, my mom warned me not to be gay but now that I'm older, she's accepted me and my partner with open arms. I'm living in the moment and I appreciate how my mom has learned to be accepting over the years. I wont ever call her out for a belief that she has long ago dismissed. I'm just saying na people can change.
