This is SO low. this is why beauty pageants are garbage. Talk about women empowerment, advocacy and beauty. I don't think this clown show is all that. It's just women making noise (and sometimes tearing each other down), flaunting their anorexic, gone-under-the-knife bodies and faces and IRONICALLY advocates for real beauty & body size acceptance-- and "amplifies"(note, sarcasm here) all these by disrespecting the very core of who we are as Filipinos - our faith. This is mockery. It's pathetic.
Well, ang point naman ng national costume is to capture the essence of each city, and religious iconography is an integral part of that. I don't believe it is mocking catholism, more like ikino-convey nila na religion is important in their city, it is central to the identity of the people living there, and it is one of the things that they offer to the rest of the country. But I'm not religious, so what do I know.
Madami din articles dito about politics, arts and social awareness at itong topic nato about beauty pageants disrespecting religion is not considered chismis material!
Pag ginoogle, National Costumes are clothes traditionally worn by people from a particular country, especially on special occasions or for formal ceremonies.
They can still go traditional pero atleast man lang add more to it. Add na nagpapaemphasis ng iyong bansa and culture. Simple traditional costume is not enough anymore. Thats a fact.
May crown yan si Naga City. Ka vibes ni Maureen Montagne.
