    4. Ba't ngayon lang magreklamo? Eh diba last year, sa BBP ba yon or sa MUP, diba may nagcostume ng Mama Mary?

    5. And Sto. Niño is not a girl!

    6. Or lechon cebu

      Delete
    7. or lumanog guitar

    8. Or dried mango

    9. O kaya rosquillos. Buti di sya pinahiran ng tuwalya at sinayaw sayaw. Very tacky man kasi dai!

    11. Di kaya otap. Hahaha I can't imagine.

  2. Hirap nito sensitive topic. Pero hindi din kasi ako religious eh so I could be wrong.

  3. Message delivered. Reminds me of Madonna's controversial 'Like a Prayer' video

  4. A perfect example of sacrilege.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Kailangan ba ng permission sa kanila? Ginagamit iyan sa buong mundo.

    1. Respect is what they are asking.

      Delete
    2. Yung costume is similar sa damit ng mga hari during Coronation.

      Delete
    3. 12:47 & 2:24 Ang Sto Nino and Baby Jesus, sya a Dyos and ang sinasabi nyong costume ay damit ng tao. Baka iba religion nyo kaya hindi nyo maintindihan. Respeto lang naman sa Dyos ang hinihingi

  6. ligwak si Miss Cebu.. not the publicity that she needs... dapat hindi mo na ooffebd ang lugar na nirirepresent mo

  7. Ang hirap ng topic nito mga classmates. S met gala nga, kailangan pa ng approval from catholic church, tama diba?

    1. Naging controversial din yung sa Met due to how some of the attendees interpreted the theme. Nino at ipinasa sa mananahi para i-replicate for her

  8. Tacky! Sacrilegious!

  9. National costume or religious costume?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm an atheist but I understand how this is disrespectful. At pwede ba, this such a lazy concept for a costume, dinamay nyo pa yung Sto Nino! Wala na maisip na iba?

    ReplyDelete

  11. Read between the lines sa official statement ng Augustinian Friars. That is the indirect and polite way of saying they dont agree to be used in beauty pageants. In example pa yung allowed which mga bata. Hayyy, many things na pwedeng gawin to represent Cebu.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes, it's disrespectful!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why so serious? Pageant lang yan wag nyo masyadong damdamin.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Being a devotee of sto.nino hndi pwdeng sabihin na pageant lng.

      Delete

      Delete
    3. Di Ka siguro Catholic Kaya Di mo maintindihan.

      Delete
    4. Anon 1:57, hindi ang pageant ang issue.

Ang issue is hindi dapat kinakaladkad ang sagradong bagay sa pageant, sa katuwaan, sa birthdays, and the like. Please use logic. Lumagay sa lugar.

    5. Pwede wag kayong hipokrito?

      Delete
    7. 5:00pm - sinasabuhay ko ang turo ng simbahan. I am not perfect, but follow the 10 commandments the best possible way I can. I live my life based on faith, love and respect na tinuturo ng simbahang kinabibilangan ko.

      Delete
    8. 5:00 your logic left the Earth. porke hindi mo nasusunod lahat ng aral, di na pwede mag call out ng mali? ganyan ba argument mo sa parents mo dati pag pinapagalitan ka dahil sa kalokohan mo? na "wag ka ipokrito ma, kasi di ka rin naman sumusunod kay lola noon?"

      Delete
    9. Not 10:01 but 5:00 Hindi kami ipokrito!

      Delete
  15. As a Catholic person this is very insensitive. I dunno if they just want to get attention for hype of the candidate but this is stupidity at its finest. Attention seeker.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ang creepy! 😲

    ReplyDelete
  17. Mag volleyball ka na lang uli, Dacoron. Di mo kailangan mag-costume dun.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nowadays sa pageant, pa weirduhan ng concept. And honestly, some are really not thinking. National costume should be something that people wear on daily or special occasions

    ReplyDelete
  19. As a creative, this is lazy and boring. As in literal na kinuha lang damit ni Sto. Nino. Di man lang inspiration or re interpretation ginawa.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Anything to gain attention. Just disrespectful and disgusting behavior

    ReplyDelete
  21. Honestly, it kinda ate. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  22. Grabe naman kasi. Kopyang kopya naman. Pwede namang gawing inspiration nalang. At nagpic pa talaga sa church. Pero daw pildi ka gd day, with or without this controversy..

    ReplyDelete
  23. We all have an inner child in us. Does that count? Char!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Isumbong kay Padre Damaso yan

    ReplyDelete
  25. While it is quite in bad taste to wear a complete replica of the Sto. Nino costume, an even bigger question is why did they choose this for the pageant? Ang pandak tuloy tignan ni candidate. Kaya nga siya niño eh, kasi little Child Jesus siya!

    ReplyDelete
  26. she should have known better

    ReplyDelete
  27. Looks weird and ugly. Not to mention disrespectful.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Religion aside... Napaka chaka! Hahaha. Why would anyone willingly do this haha

    ReplyDelete
  29. sacrilege. May you be forgiven.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hahaha!

      Delete
  30. Did they know that the image of Sto Nino was also lifted from somewhere else? Specifically from the Baroque era. If they claim it, they should sue.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Overreach naman.
Inspired by Sto Nino, brought attention to Nino so for me a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Saka babae sya, yung Sto Niño ay lalaki.

    ReplyDelete
  33. pa angbung nag Mama Mary portrait lng din yan last year.

    ReplyDelete

    2. I think yung pagaya din kay Mama Mary o kay Jesus or sa iba pang santo kasi ginagawa lang sa tamang occasion at venue, alam nyo un? sa school play or sa mga procession or sa mga religious events. eto kasi for a beauty contest? sna better of nag-gown na lang siya inspired sa damit ni sto.nino hindi ung literal na true to life sto. nino ang pineg nya.... ang creepy nya kaya tingnan sa totoo lang

      Delete
  35. Sa totoo lang, nakakatakot po. ahahaha! Same feeling you get with M3gan, and Annabelle. Uncanny ba yun.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This was taken sa Basilica church. And Sto. Nino is a male child. Also, she didn't clearly say her purpose. Magpa picture lang dw cya sa Basilica but never mentioned what she was going to wear. Ano kaya ang reason nya?

      Delete
    2. adult woman kasi si Mama Mary, innocent boy kasi si sto. niño

      Delete

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe because Sto Nino is young Jesus. A God. Part of Holy Trinity. Mama Mary is human. A saint. Mother of Jesus.

      Delete

      Delete
    4. 5:47 last year. Parang picture frame yung effect nya not the whole body, i think. Nanalo pa yung candidate parang miss intercontinental ata but didn't win sa international pageant.

      Delete
  38. Hahaha kaloka tawang tawa ako sa kanya!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wtf?? Sobrang poor choice. Other than
Giving shame to the contestant, it is sacrilegious to do this!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Di man lang pinagisipan yung NatCos niya, if yan talaga gusto pwede naman inspiration na lang. Jukoooahhh
