Nice one, Miss Lea. May sound cliche but you truly are world class and a true filipino pride...But... just please keep your political opinion to yourself.
4:55–the fact that she’s an entertainer does not negate her right to free speech, just as you are able to spew your opinion all over the internet and I’m sure elsewhere.
LOL! This is normal and natural unlike those filipino kpop fans who say "proud pinoy" only when kpop idols mention anything related to the Philippines or say mahal kita which non kpop fans like us know they don't really mean. Now THAT'S pathetic!
may K naman siya magyabang kesa naman magyabang ka na walang K. or maybe you find her mayabang because you're seeing it from a jealous-person point of view. Coz I don't find her that way. Yes - she's frank, she doesn't sugarcoat her words but let's be honest, she's excellent in her craft.
6:03 it's called confidence, and she needed it to succeed the way she did. Bata pa lang si lea when she won the role of miss Saigon, she was unproven. When she played Eponine from Les Mis naman, people thought she did not suit the role because she was Asian. Madaling tumiklop at magpaapekto sa crabs and bashers if you don't have self confidence
She has every right to be proud. And we should be proud of her too. Sa totoo lang, Lea is like the only Filipino artist who is known and admired internationally, even by hollywood stars. She has performed on broadway and west end. She has won several awards kasali na Tony’s qnd Laurence Olivier. She‘s been on TV shows abroad, etc, and yet Pinoys somehow do not appreciate her enough. Tapos sasabihin proud to be pinoy! Hala uy. I am always amazed by her work and enjoy watching videos of her on youtube. Eto talaga ang nakaka-proud! She has brought the country pride and honor over and over again yet mga pinoy lampake. Kay Manny pacquiao lang proud or vanessa hudgens, or sa mga sumasali sa America’s or UK’s got talent na may pinoy blood! Anobayan
She even has a group of fans (mostly Caucasians) who watch all her concerts & Broadway shows. She mentioned them before when we watched her in Atlantic City. She was even featured by PBS (National Public television here in the US, equivalent of BBC) during their fund-raising.
Lea Salonga is one of the brightest star in the world. And we Pinoys are proud to say that she is a Filipino. Mabuhay ang ating mga local singers (legit singers I must say 😜)
Uhmmmmm.....the fact na kakanta sya sa isang important event like this (govt related which could be broadcast around the world and in front of a world leader) is already considered as achievement.
PS. I wonder kung kakanta rin sina lady gaga and blackpink . Performing their sour candy collab song. Sana
6:16–ummm it’s a recognition of her immense talent to be asked to perform before heads of state in one of the most powerful countries in the world so yeah, mendj ng slight. 🤦🏻♀️ crab mentality at its finest.
Achievement yan! Bihira ang performers (a filipino performer at that!) na nakatapak sa entablado sa loob ng white house (the seat of power of the most powerful nation lang naman po yan) noh.
I don’t think she had to audition to be invited to a WH state dinner. She is well known and respected in both US & UK theater circles. She has won both Tony & Laurence Olivier awards. She was invited because of her reputation, not because of her management.
I can’t wait to watch her later dito sa California! Lea is world-class, kilalang kilala siya internationally.
Sad but true.

Theater actress like Lea is very underrated sa Pilipinas kasi nga hindi nman uso yan sa Pilipinas. Usually she is most appreciated sa mga 1st world countries, sa true lang. 😬

DeleteI agree! I like Lea Salonga sa pagkanta pero mataray sa ibang bagay.
DeleteShe must express her political opinions to exercise her right as a citizen as guaranteed by the constitution.
DeleteMadam 4:55, I may not also agree with her political views pero it’s her basic right to express it just like yours.
Deleteapply it to yourself. please keep your opinion to yourself too :)
DeleteSino ka ba para diktahan sya. Dapat sa sarili mo yan sabihin. Pakialamera
DeleteFunny mo. Pag d align political views mo bglang keep it to yourself nlng?
DeleteShe has all the right magtaray and to say her political views! Paki nyo ba
Delete4:55 ikaw din keep your opinion to yourself, hindi di naman nakakabuti
DeleteSo proud of Ms. Lea!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Lea! Walang kupas!
Gusto mo yung 10 years ago Ang gamitin?
DeleteGamitin yung pic from Annie ;D
DeleteThis will be inundated with proud to be Filipino comments na naman.
ReplyDeleteand why not?
DeleteLOL! This is normal and natural unlike those filipino kpop fans who say "proud pinoy" only when kpop idols mention anything related to the Philippines or say mahal kita which non kpop fans like us know they don't really mean. Now THAT'S pathetic!
DeleteMay yabang tlga awra neto.
ReplyDelete6:03-I beg to disagree. She is staying a fact. I’m sure if you were performing at the WH, you’d announce it too 🙄
DeleteSa true may ere nga yung dating nya.
Eh ikaw?
DeleteShe's just a confident woman. You are just insecure.
DeleteAs she should kasi may talent and may maipagyayabang siya.
Hehehe. Ang pangit eh ung nuknukan ng yabang pero waley naman maibubuga in real life
DeleteShe’s just confident. Ito yung sa Pinoy eh, if your aura is not passive mayabang agad. Confidence is always branded as mayabang agad.
Deleteor maybe you find her mayabang because you're seeing it from a jealous-person point of view. Coz I don't find her that way.
Yes - she's frank, she doesn't sugarcoat her words but let's be honest, she's excellent in her craft.

ReplyDeleteLea Salonga is one of the brightest star in the world. And we Pinoys are proud to say that she is a Filipino. Mabuhay ang ating mga local singers (legit singers I must say 😜)
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteAnd she thinks of this as an achievement or what?
ReplyDeleteUhmmmmm.....the fact na kakanta sya sa isang important event like this (govt related which could be broadcast around the world and in front of a world leader) is already considered as achievement.

DeleteWhat's your issue
DeleteSo getting an invite to sing at the White House for both the Korean and US Presidents is an everyday occurrence to you?
Delete6:16 what do you think?
DeleteDuh. Kelangan pa ba imemorize yan? Lols
DeleteOnly great artists are able to perform at the Whitehouse , so yes this is a big deal.
DeleteShe's simply announcing tht she'll be performing in White House.
DeleteAy o anong problema mo sis This is happening lang yung sinabi
DeleteWhy are you so bitter???
DeleteE anong tawag mo dyan? ASAP levels lang? O baka di mo alam ang White House? 😂
DeleteAchievement yan! Bihira ang performers (a filipino performer at that!) na nakatapak sa entablado sa loob ng white house (the seat of power of the most powerful nation lang naman po yan) noh.
DeleteOf course it is! To perform in front of head of states is an honour. Taas ng standards mo accla!
DeleteBakit, may invite ka sa White House?
DeleteWhat do you think?🙄
DeleteWala namang masama.
DeleteAng daming nega dito.. crab mentality talaga
Delete10:58 wala, sa White Castle meron to get Burger Sliders. 🤣
Delete1:22 midwesterner
DeleteLea Salonga and Manny Pacquiao talaga for me ang best representation nating mga pinoy sa internation fame. No gimmick, no hype. Just pure talent.
ReplyDeleteAgree! No clout chasing, just talent and skills.
There she is, the FILIPINO PRIDE
ReplyDeleteSo proud of you!
ReplyDeleteWla lng. Just another day at work for Lea.
DeleteYes meron :)
DeleteI don’t think she had to audition to be invited to a WH state dinner. She is well known and respected in both US & UK theater circles. She has won both Tony & Laurence Olivier awards. She was invited because of her reputation, not because of her management.

DeletePang-international talaga sya. Some (or most) Pinoys can’t appreciate her talent…which is sad.
ReplyDeleteAnd to add… this isnt the only time she was invited to perform in the WH. Goes way back since Pres Bill Clinton.. #Leafansince #WeareproudtobeManang
ReplyDeleteEto ang TOTOONG pang international
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe na may nega comments pa rin sa ganitong klaseng article. Jusko.
ReplyDeleteTheater actress like Lea is very underrated sa Pilipinas kasi nga hindi nman uso yan sa Pilipinas. Usually she is most appreciated sa mga 1st world countries, sa true lang. 😬
