Kara Mia really hurt her momentum after the success of her afternoon show.
But the biggest PR problem of her before was the Jack Roberto headlines alongside Barbie that GMA social accounts really milked. Naging cheap ang image niya because of that.
However, MCAI came, and it’s really a strong restart to claim her once promising A-list status. Barbie’s next projects will be crucial kung talagang A-lister na siya. One box office hit and another smashing TV show (Pulang Araw looks very promising), and no one can argue anymore na A-list na siya sa Kamuning.
This was 2020, start of the pandemic. Bawal shootings. On hold lahat ng projects. Walang trabaho mga artista kaya kailangan maging active sa social media. Kahit sino, kakabahan.

I used to think her antics were annoying and her look is so weird. I couldnt tell if she was a cute little girl or a grown woman so whenever she would come on TV I would just change the chanel. MCI really showcased her talent. Now I look at her differently. I didnt even realized she did a couple of independent films in the past where she was also really good.
Barbie was 16 or 17 y/o when she bagged her first acting recognition as cinemalaya best supporting actress. And sunod sunod na after that. While it’s true na she hasnt reached super stardom as compared to abscbn contemporaries, but the depth and range of her acting skills, her body of work? I havent seen someone better within her age group.
Now lang din nakuha ni Barbie ang attention ko and i must say she’s intelligent! Ung interview nia sa village pipol na magazine, must read! In explain nia dun ung process nia ng character building, impressive! Hndi ko akalain na gnun sha ka intelehente bilang artista.
