DeleteTo be fair, I think Liza genuinely wanted to act — yes the money was great, but I don’t think she felt trapped into servitude being in entertainment. That being said, I agree that her father (based on recent videos of him) kind of relied on his daughter to be the breadwinner. Even Liza said that she bore a bit of resentment towards her parents.
DeleteAlso I believe ABS and Ogie when they say they say that they wouldn’t have kept her solely in their clutches. They seem to genuinely believe Liza was different; they had a potentially global star on their hands and they could finally really lay claim to a global crossover star if things fell into place. I admire Liza and Careless’ vision, but honestly they could have realized global stardom just by working towards being the darling of their home country, and not necessarily eschewing it. Make enough noise in the pond, and the whole ocean is bound to take notice.

DeleteI remember Sarah G noon, she also had a 10 year contract with Viva when she won. 10 year contracts are the norm for new artists hindi unheard of yan. You start with longer contracts and when that’s done and you established your name na, then you can demand or signed a shorter contract. Kay Sarah nga noon I think 40-50% ang commission nila, tiba tiba din talaga sila. Then when she resigned, she was able to have the leverage na to make a good deal for herself.

They could even have added another local star to their roster to replace Liza while the latter goes on to the international stage, under their banner. Win win

Pinanood ko ng buo ang vlog ni Ogie. Ang galing naman ng ABS talagang tinutupad nila ang pangako nila kay direk Wenn. Pinagaaral nila yung mga anak ni direk at may 20k pa buwan buwan kahit walang prangkisa. Yung magasawa din ni Bayani nakakabilib din lalo na ang misis ni Bayani. And sa mga nagsasabing 10years,no.ndi yung 10yrs straight na contract. Nagrerenew sila. So meron sola say if they want to continue or not. This is a not like Viva contract with Nadine.
Hindi ko alam kay Liza bakit sa Careless nagpa manage. Bakit di niya kinuha na lang yung agency ni Kris Aquino noon na refutable para mag-manage ng Hollywood projects niya.

DeleteMatagal ng makalat si liza, nagkataon lang dati na may OG and SM na naglilinis ng kalat niya. Kaya after makawala sa SM at kay OG, ayun lumabas ang tunay na kulay. Wala na kasing naglilinis ng kalat niya. Walang 10 years contrqct ang abs. 2 to 3 years lang yung mga contract nila.
