Halted Modus

Frequent customers of a high-end store might be wondering why the staff seems to have younger sales attendants. Moreover, the senior staff, some of whom were already hired during the initial opening of the store, are no longer around. The reason for the change is indeed disappointing.

For luxury item enthusiasts, owning sought after bags brings prestige and a sense of pride. However, purchasing such prestigious items is not easy for ordinary customers. Only an elite group, the VIPs, is given the privilege of seeing and given the option to buy ahead of everyone. Stores usually have a private room for showing the quota bags to the VIPs. This privilege is earned and determined by the store. In addition, purchase loyalty matters.

So, why the change in staff? The higher ups noticed something was amiss as their sought-after quota bags ended up online. The situation smelled fishy. Investigation was able to piece out the modus that allegedly involved the senior staff and an online seller. The seniors used the names of the VIPs as the buyers for the quota bags.

A few casual phone calls to the real VIPs indicated they never purchased the said items at all. Boom. The connivance was out and management made the decision of getting rid of staff who violated company policies. Their actions deprived VIP clients of purchasing the limited items designated as quota bags. Consequently, the effect can negatively affect the reputation of the prestigious company.

‘When you choose an action, you choose the consequences of that action. When you desire a consequence you had damned well better take the action that would create it.’ ― Lois McMaster Bujold

    1. Yes!

    3. wala bang OTP sa pinas? like bank accounts in general synced to the holder's mobile number for authentication before debiting any amounts from purchasing any such transactions?

    4. Correct me if I'm wrong pero pag online transaction lang ata ang merong OTP.

    5. Debit card lang yung may pa OTP, CC wala although may pa text sila (some, not sure if across all banks) after ma swipe ng card mo and yung phone number na tatawagan mo in case hindi ikaw nag initiate nung transaction.

  7. reading comprehension left the room. hindi po nag credit card fraud ang sinsabi yung mga senior staff ginamit ang names ng VIP's to purchase luxury brand items para ibenta sa mga online sellers. walang ninakaw only they violated the policies ng high end boutique.

  10. This is a big scandal for H if this gets out. OMG

  11. That’s not fair. Buti na lang na fire yung senior staff kasi alam naman natin how H works. Hindi kung kani kanino lang bebenta kahit may pera ka. The action of the senior staff doesn’t reflect the brand’s process of selling.

  12. Good riddance to the senior staff. This is happening not just with specialty boutiques, even grocery items that are commandeered by the staff and set aside at the behest of online sellers. Nakakainis.
