With the shortage of nurses dito sa bansa natin and overseas, maraming tatanggap sa kanya. Unless the hospitals are as discriminatory in thinking like you do.
She used to be a midwife. She has experience in healthcare already. Baka mas magaling pa sya kesa sa new graduates na degree lang and panlaban. Experience comes with age. Ang Mom ko RN pero became a housewife to raise me and my siblings. 20 years later, dito na kami sa Canada, nag-RN ulit sya and it's like she never stopped being an RN. The basic knowledge is still there, yung modern equipment lang ang need ng training but as with all things, it can be learned. Dito sa Canada RNs work until they retire, and there are lots of people here pursuing Nursing in their 40s and 50s.
Unfortunately, sa Pilipinas sobra ang discrimination pag dating sa age when it comes to employment. If dito sa US, for sure maha-hire pa din yan as a nurse. May mga co-nurses ako dito who started their nursing career on their 40’s, yung iba nga on their 50’s pa.
May tatanggap sa kanya because she was a clinical instructor. Mas keri nya ngayon maging Acedemician or Professor. Unless her mom wants to practice. There’s no such thing as AGE LIMIT. Pangarap na nahinto nya yan eh. Problema sa mga Pinoy, tinataningan ang pangarap. Bawasan nyo yung mindset na “may tatanggap pa ba?” “Matanda na sya.” Pag pangarap ng isang tao, gagawin nya lahat ng makakaya to become FULFILLED AND CONTENT. Iba yung happiness!!
Here in the US no age limit when it comes to work. I even work with a travel nurse that use to be a policeman. I see student nurses here with the same age.
It's never late! Dito lang sa Pilipinas may discrimination. She has been in the medical field. Am sure mas may opportunity siya overseas , lalo na Europe! Good luck!
Congrats to her Mom! Pursuing education and a degree when you're older is very, very difficult lalo na when you're raising a family and with the economy nowadays. It's so great her Mom was able to juggle all that life threw at her and never gave up in her dream of becoming an RN!
So pag mtanda n wla ng tatanggap?? Kung capable pa why not? Based sa experience ko as a nurse
There is a law in the Philippines that shun from age discrimination. She can land a job anytime. Also, this is a good example that learning is a continuing process...one only stops learning when he/she is dead. THIS A GOOD REFLECTION for the both the young ones and young once...Congrats KZ...and of course to your INAHAN. Good job
Minsan it isn't about the money earned from the job. It is the self worth and prestige that these people aspire na even at their age, they can still unleash their full potential, do things they really love and fulfill their dreams kahit na may delay due to unwanted circumstances.
Well, kahit hindi siya mag tranaho. What matter most nakamit niya ang kanyang pangarap dahil sa tiyaga, hard work, at faith in God. Masaya at feeling accomplished. Fullfillment and happiness. Congratulations. Nakaka inspire. Sana all
Sa mga nagaask if may tatanggap pa ba sa kanya.. wala naman nasabi na magwowork pa sya or what.. ibigay niyo na yun sa kanila.. baka gusto lang ni mother magtake ng exam and maging rn.. fulfillment yun for her..
Congratulations to your mom, KZ. Hanga ako sa kanyang determination and perseverance. Good luck sa job hunting.
If age is not a problem she can work but if the government limit the age of a worker it will be hard for her..not like here in Canada..I started working when I was 49 til my retirement age.
Anong akala ninyo sa mga ‘matatanda’walang silbi??why worry with d age as long as she can do her job.lahat tayo tatanda, wag masyadong nka focus sa age dahil bata pa kayo.marami ng alam ang mga matatanda,na hindi pa alam ng mga bata..
Just a question if mag apply si mother, sa ganyan na age meron ba hospital na tatanggap?
ReplyDeleteWith the shortage of nurses dito sa bansa natin and overseas, maraming tatanggap sa kanya. Unless the hospitals are as discriminatory in thinking like you do.
DeleteDepende na lang siguro sa hospital. If im not mistaken, according kay DOLE dapat walang age discrimination.
DeleteSame question, may tumanggap pa ba?
Deleteyes

Delete11:11 anong problema mo sa tanong ni 10:42? Wala namang pasaring sa tanong nya? Advance ka mag-isip?

DeleteAbroad yes madami, esp Europe, i mentored a newly qualified nurse 60 yrs old

DeleteIt's like wine as you age you become more worthy. I am 54 and working and planning and dreaming of greater heights....wala sa age yan. Nasa puso.
Delete10:42 dito sa US walang age discrimination. You can work as long as you can . I am a nurse here and may mga katrabaho akong 64y.o na
DeleteMarami tatanggap sa kanya.
DeleteYup ang daming tatanggap sa kanya dito sa america as a nurse. No age descrimination as long as u could do the job.
DeleteHere in the US no age limit when it comes to work. I even work with a travel nurse that use to be a policeman. I see student nurses here with the same age.
Delete👏👏👏
ReplyDeleteWill she able find a job? Parang masyadong late naman for her age but still, my warmest congrats and so proud of her.
DeleteIt's never late! Dito lang sa Pilipinas may discrimination. She has been in the medical field. Am sure mas may opportunity siya overseas , lalo na Europe! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCongrats mother RN!

ReplyDeleteMukhang di naman mag nurse yung mother dito kasi may age limit dito. Sa USA wala. Kaya mukhanh doon yun hehe
ReplyDeleteSo pag mtanda n wla ng tatanggap?? Kung capable pa why not? Based sa experience ko as a nurse
18,000+ out of 24,000 test takers ang nakapasa.
116 Don’t underestimate their hardwork please
DeleteTry not to be judgemental kahit matanda kana if you have the energy and care to patient go lang

ReplyDeleteWhy the concern about her finding a job? What if dream nya lang talaga magka-diploma?
ReplyDeleteVery stressful job to start a career in nursing.
