Oh, how heart breaking. Pray that you'd be healed. Alzheimer's, an illness where you won't be able to remember/recognise everything and everyone dear to you anymore. Even yourself. All will be lost/fade in blank. Chris now choosing to cling with his loved ones, and hopefully be healed w/o losing memories even partially.
Hmm. Nobody knows. Having a genetic predisposition to something doesn't mean na you'll definitely end up with it. There are families who are genetically predisposed to cancer and nobody knows why some members get it and some don't.
Nothing has been proven effective to delay Alzheimer's or even dementia, sadly. Had my grandmoms who had dementia and the other one Alzheimer's and had to live with these until their death. Mas lumala pa nung na covid
May nabasa ako before that mental exercises like doing puzzles and sudoku would help delay the onset of alzheimers. Tsaka having an active social life din.
While may genetic predisposition talaga Alzheimers, you can do a lot to strengthen your mind. Iba iba yung strength ng evidence but surprisingly the one with the strongest evidence now to help strengthen your mind as you age is exercise. Yes exercise, more specifically cardiovascular exercise. Increased blood flow sa brain, strengthening neural connectiins (the brain works hard just to keep you upright, balanced and moving forward) plus the other physical benefits that we already know of. I always tell my patients to move and keep on moving. Pansin nyo yung mga nag eexercise into their 60s and beyond mas mabilis lumakad, mas sharp yung brain at hindi uugod-ugod. A diet rich in unprocessed foods and antioxidants also helps. May studies na diets rich in processed food detrimental sa memory. Walang magic bullet...paulit ulit na kami na diet and exercise and admittedly mahirap naman talaga sya. Here at home we're trying to implement that lalo na na may toddler kami and we want to expose her to rich wholesome food instead of fast food. Kaya tuloy napapakain na rin kami ng fruits and vegetables every meal para good role model for our kid.

ReplyDeleteAba gwapo naman talaga yang husband ko, thank you
DeleteSo, kapag hindi gwapo?

ReplyDeleteHoping that it wont develop to a stage where he needs to leave the limelight for good
ReplyDeleteWhen he gets older..
DeleteParang Bruce willis ba yan
DeleteHindi pa pala healthy lifestyle nya sa lagay na may super big muscles sya
ReplyDeleteHe has predisposition for the disease, he is not diseased.
DeleteSus, no amount of work break would prevent it from happening. Just keep working and live a healthy lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteBakit parang kasalanan pa nya kaya sya nagkasakit non?
DeleteHis break doesn't seem to be to prevent it but moreso spend more time w/ his fam even before any symptoms starts appearing.

Gawa ka personal vlogs, private obviously, just in case para mapanuod mo in the future
ReplyDeleteSa mga nasa medical field if nababasa nyo ito, is there any way to delay or perhaps maiwasan itong mangyari? Like lifestyle change, mental exercises?
