She’s a main character, crucial ang role nya, malaking part ng story.
Napaka-shady ng ganitong comment. Praising one person, while putting down another. I know it's not inggit but what did other celebrities who tried in Hollywood but didn't much exposure on the camera did to you para magalit kayo ng ganyan? You attack them indirectly whenever you get the chance just like this. I'm sure pag labas ng movie ni Liza, you'd compare her to Chai. Walang legit legit pagdating sa role whether big or small.
Before ka kumuda, understand it is part of a film which they intend to show worldwide. The accent is part of her character. And watch the movie to know her background.
Also - daming ganyan magsalita IRL.
He forgot she is just acting and the accent is a realistic portrayal of her character's background. Alangan naman mag flawless English sya jan.
2:47 ang dali mo naman ma-triggered. I'm also Bisaya but speak good English pero hindi lahat ng Bisaya nakapag-aral sa magandang schools and grew up watching Hollywood movies. I have relatives who speak like that.
1:57 AM - she is a nanny so yes, stereotyped pa din. still a meaty role that goes beyond being a caregiver of sorts. nice to see her being the aggressor and antagonist versus the usual victim of human trafficking and overall kawawa.
Ano ba. Pareparehas ba dapat tayo ng accent?
7:01 PM - true. As someone who regularly collaborates with Americans, ang feedback nila is the Pinoys with neutral accent, Pinoys who are fluent but don't have a twang when speaking, and Pinoys who have slight accents (mga nadudulas every word or so) but speak straight English all sound the SAME to them. I was surprised (and humbled haha) kasi naman neutral accent ako and all this time I thought I spoke better English than most. so yeah, humble pie doesn't taste so bad haha.
She’s bisaya and yes those accents do exist especially malalayong probinsya sa visayas and mindanao. Very matigas. She plays that part so I guess it’s apt. Non-filipino will not notice anyway.
Yun oh! She is the antagonist. Kayo talaga. There are different filipino accents.
This triggers me kasi meron kaming kasama sa haus na ganito tumingin dati. Ung parang hinihypnotize ka and i swear may off.
Looks good. And finally no conscious acting here. Some random theater kids here be all critical kasi siguro tingin nila they can do better than Chai. Will watch :)
The music is scaryyyy
I love how they used that accent for chai, an appreciation of the common filipino accent just like how common african accents, welsh accents, middle eastern accents & other variations of englisg accents are showcased in hollywood.
I love eva green such an intense actress

Si Chai tahimik lang pero may nagagawa
ReplyDeleteAng galing nga. Very quiet lang.
ReplyDeleteGanda..I will watch this
He forgot she is just acting and the accent is a realistic portrayal of her character's background. Alangan naman mag flawless English sya jan.
ReplyDeletenanny nga eh. bisayan accent. anong gusto niyo, british accent? proud of our pinoy talents! sana si john arcilla din. he has so much to offer.
DeleteWow, andiyan din pala si Mark Strong, one of my favorites! Go Chai, Inigo & Liza!
DeleteIm in Uk and karamihan ng Pinay n nakapag asawa ng puti na andito ganyan ang accent
Delete1:14 excuse me naman po sa bisayan accent??? Bisaya ako pero di ako gnyan mag english. Nkaka insulto ha.

DeleteHaha just have to laugh dun sa clout woke guy sa twitter na nagrrant about her accent. Congrats chai!
ReplyDeleteGrabe leading role
ReplyDeleteibaaahhh......
ReplyDeleteBakit galit about the accent? Parang chinese, mexican and spanish characters lang yan sa hollywood just matching ang need movie.
ReplyDeleteMahirap din for sure kay Chai to act that accent. Kudos to her! Bongga! I will watch this!
ReplyDeleteScary. Galing clap clap!
ReplyDeleteHays tigas msyado ng accent beh
ReplyDeleteSo now we're going to be stereotyped as mangkukulam? Lol. I'm def watching this!
ReplyDeleteBeh. Ikaw lang nagiisip nyan. Masyado kang paladesisyon.
DeleteKa grabe ka naman mag isip. In fact one of the producers is a Filipino.
Delete1:57 AM - she is a nanny so yes, stereotyped pa din. still a meaty role that goes beyond being a caregiver of sorts. nice to see her being the aggressor and antagonist versus the usual victim of human trafficking and overall kawawa.
DeleteOkay, I'm all for it.
No one minds naman.

DeleteSorry, akala ko si Alora nung una.
ReplyDeleteWow. Dami na pinoy in hollywood and international movies lately. Well-deserved! Im going to watch this!
Yung taga UP
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Congrats Chai!
DeleteShe's also in Maria Clara at Ibarra
ReplyDeleteMagaling Si girl. Watch natin ito guys!
ReplyDeleteNice one. The accent is a bit off though. Sounds unnatural. She could have chosen to either use southern tagalog or bisaya.
ReplyDeleteShe’s bisaya and yes those accents do exist especially malalayong probinsya sa visayas and mindanao. Very matigas. She plays that part so I guess it’s apt. Non-filipino will not notice anyway.
DeleteYun oh! She is the antagonist. Kayo talaga. There are different filipino accents.
ReplyDeleteHuy, major role ito!! Mukhang maganda!!!
ReplyDeleteThis triggers me kasi meron kaming kasama sa haus na ganito tumingin dati. Ung parang hinihypnotize ka and i swear may off.

ReplyDeleteThe title is not very catchy!
ReplyDeleteThe rest is good a look into the Filipino folklore.
Trailer palang I'm scared na. We know what PH folk magic can do kasi.
