    4. I'm sure she's bothered with all the jabs she's been getting .Money can't buy everything including peace and a sense of dignity..May aura din sya that she wants to come across as intelligent and accepted by the AB demographics but the educated ones are mostly repulsed by her.

    5. Contradicting yung statement mo.

I don't like Toni mula noon lalo na ngayon. never supported her shows or movies. Periodt. Pero ikaw may pa leave her alone pa.

FYI (sa mga negatrons na naniniwala at nagpapakalt ng fake news) Shopee which has its HQ in Singapore has been downsizing since last year due to losses. daming unclaimed/returned na parcels, at medyo humina ang business nila when malls started reopening, sa buong Asia. hindi lang sa Pinas. Nag lay off ang Shopee sa China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore (sila ang nauna) and now the Philippines.

  2. I don't hate Toni but d ko talaga type ang Shopee, mas gusto ko yung Lazada kasi mas may trust ako at less scam.

Like, may nabasa ako na "nawala" daw siya sa Lazada cause of the interface. Like naligaw sa mall????

    5. I use Lazada din to buy online from uk to ph for my mum. Never tried shoppee but Lazada is quite good

      Delete
    6. The backlash is working though. Lazada is now no.1 app for Shopping in the App Store. Also, Shopee has not changed its collaterals in all of its socmed accounts to feature Toni G. I guess to prevent others from jumping ship. Goodluck sa Q4 ng Shopee

    3. Nung kasagsagan ng pandemic sarado mga department stores so nag hire ng madami for online shopping. Ngayon at medyo back to normal alangan naman shopee keeps on employees na sobra na. Wag namab makitid and mahina ang utak. And para palabasin na patriotic kung ano ano sinasabi against toni

  10. People are being malicious. I will continue to support the sellers in shoppee because they are human. You're targeting shoppee now because of toni (yuck) but we have to admit we lost. We have to accept this defeat.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No. We are targeting Shopee itself.
From massive layoff to increase in charges and fees, Toni was just the last straw.

      Delete

So haloa wala silang naiuuwi. Kaya nga yung iba bumabalik n lang sa pv live selling or poating sa ig, fb and even sa tiktok. Tiktok is actually a good platform for sellers din. So no, buying in shopee doesnt necessarily support the sellers kasi malaki pa rin ang nakukuha ng shopee jan

      Delete
    4. Already asked may suking tindahan sa shoppee if they're in lazada and they are. So walang problema sa akin.
I'd be the same level of affected kung ang kinuha is si anne Curtis ulit or kim chiu or sarah g. Unconscionable move from shoppee.

    5. Yan yung tamang reasoning 4:16 if you dont like the platform anymore. Yung iba kasi dito kung ano anong sinasabi.

Agree with 5:10 sana nag market study sila

Then now, naglabas na nang statement nag shoppee regarding this situation. Super bagsak na ang Shoppee becuz of this moves.

Tapos to think na they announced the downsizing of PH operation tapos biglang may multi million spent for an endorser.

    1. This is so true. And their free shipping is not free anymore. Parang the owners or investors are getting more money na or putting bad investments (spending millions on endorsers) than making it go around the business to support the operations of the business (my guess only though). I hope shopee stays because it helps us small businesses actually and helps many delivery guys have work too.

  32. Toni thanked the netizens for placing her and the platform on Twitter's trending list since yesterday. Hear ye! Hear ye!

  34. As consumers, we have the right to choose where and how we’ll spend our money. I want to be a conscious buyer that’s why I stopped buying from online a month ago. Honestly, the packaging is contributing so much waste from the plastic to bubblewraps. I want to be more sustainable when I make my purchase that’s why I started shopping at physical stores more often and make sure to bring an ecobag with me. I want to lessen and if possible eliminate the plastic waste so that’s my primary reason for not shopping online. I used to buy stuff from Shopee because they have a lot of promotions plus you can find unique and affordable items. Rather than going to Divisoria, people buy from Shopee for convenience. However, my overall experience of buying from Shopee back in 2020 during the height of covid has relatively changed and not in a good way. Vouchers and promos are not as competitive and enticing compared before. In addition to that, I did not like the fact that they had to downsize their workforce in order to stay afloat. Within the same week, they had to announce a new brand ambassador, I mean, how insensitive can their management be? We all know Shopee paid Toni millions. Wanting to stay afloat by downsizing and getting a new endorser with a hefty talent fee is like rubbing salt into the wound. That is very distasteful, regardless of the political view and stand of their chosen endorser. But I still believe regardless if Shopee did not have to perform retrenchment, Toni G still would not sit well as their new brand ambassador because of her negative reputation. It is your choice to keep supporting and buying from Shopee but you can’t dictate the others for choosing to boycott a company that does not align with their core values and standards. We are in a free market at the end of the day.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Your sentiments are valid, but boycotting shopee will also affect the company- possibly more lay offs. So please don’t mass boycott because of their “insensitivity” please think of the other employees that May be laid off eventually if sales continue to go down. May be it’s good to share sentiments online so that shopee will know that they don’t need to get endorsers and pay them millions for shopee to become “relevant”, but get real people and show people that they give more jobs so we can support them. Let’s teach shopee how we will support them more ex. Tell them to tell the sellers to use eco friendly packaging etc. so people will have more jobs thru shopee.

  44. Tigilan nyo na c Toni. Sa ginagawa nyo lalo sha sumisikat, at nageenjoy sha. Please. Tumigil na kayo. Wag nyo na sha pansinin. And besides, c shopee ang May decision nun, so why blame TOni. Wag nyo na paginitan c Toni. Ang best way is don’t mind her, don’t watch her, don’t react about her kasi the more you do the more effective she is the more she will get endorsements.

  45. Shopee reported that they loss almost a billion for this year that's the reason for the massive layoffs tapos kukunin mo si Toni as a new endorser. Naku good luck will she increase sales??? Abang abang ba lang

  46. maybe strategy din to ng shopee pra mas maingay at mapgusapan sila for publicity ksi bumaba sales.. publicity be good or bad is still publicity. mas macurious ang tao, mas tingin ko potential customers din.

    1. 9:55 "publicity is still a publicity" can only be applied sa showbiz. This quote would never be applicable sa business, medical, and food industry. Dhil the moment n may bad publicity and the company were unable to diffuse or correct, super doom sila. Remember that

PS. Shopee failed with their strategy. Good luck n lng

  47. I dont understand the logic of those saying na support shopee to support the employees daw. Shopee laid off hundreds of employees and then signed on a new expensive endorser.
I remember noong pandemic several companies forwent advertising in order to support their employees or give away products.
Support employees by supporting companies who are kind to their employees. Avoid patronizing those who prioritize endorsers and ad budget over employees.

  49. Saw an article saying they’re down about $920 M in sales last quarter from the quarter before that. Dapat safe endorser na lang kinuha nila, esp with the political and social climate right now.

  50. Nakielam lang kayo sa massive lay off nuong naging political eh a couple of yrs back may massive lay off din naman di nuo kami pinansin

  51. The impact of this issue goes beyond Shopee and Lazada. It sends a clear red flag to other brands. As a brand manager, you would not want to associate your brand to a brouhaha like this one. One can argue that it creates a lot of talkability but typically this has short term impact on sales but long term negative impact on the brand.

  52. It was not only in the Philippines that Shopee cut down workforce. In fact in Singapore they already downsized their manpower. So i dont get it as to why some people think that they did it because they have to pay Toni millions.

    1. Kumuha din ba sila ng expensive endorser sa singapore after nila mag lay off?

  54. I think ang pag laid off ng maraming employees dahil cutting down sa budget at the same time yung pagkuha ng Shopee Kay TG as endorser na sinasabi nilang mataas ang talent fee ang nag-triggered kaya madaming hanash. yung iba naman hinahaluan ng politika. I don't shop at Shopee kasi wala ako sa pinas at hindi ako pinas voter.

  55. Ang daming pauso talaga kahit kelan. Kapag nag ingay sabay sabay. Oh well, hangganh ingay lang naman

  56. Nasa endorser talaga yan.

  59. Avoided purchasing from shapi this year. They became too problematic. Capped free shipping but they're not letting you use the full amount. 1% top-up admin fee. They're infested with fake shops with made-up reviews. Downgrade talaga ang services nila in the recent years unlike when they were still starting.
