She gets bashed sometimes but the truth is she has set the bar of standard so high that Filipinos should strive to achieve. From her flawless English fluency (for someone who grew up in the Philippines) to her consistent excellent stage performance, I couldn’t think of anyone who come close. Let’s trash Taglish please!
When she was starting her career sa broadway ang dami nang ba-bash sakanya na feeling daw, naging inglesera daw kesyo nakatungtong ng America. Sadly, mga pinoy pa mismo ang nang ba-bash sakanya. Then here she is, still relevant and giving pinoys something to be proud of kahit na wala syang support na nakuha from her kapwa pinoy noon
even until now naman may mga haters pa rin sya. di na tlga maiiwasan yun. ang pangit lang kasi sa mga Pinoy, kung sino pa yung puchu-puchu, yun yung tintangkilik. yung totoong talent, dedma or binabash.
True. During Lea's teenage years, pre-Miss Saigon, she was not liked by many, to the point of getting mocked at. Especially when she was picked as special guest of Menudo (Ricky Martin, Robbie Rosa, etc.) sa Pinas. Mas appreciated noon the likes of Lotlot de Leon, Janice de Belen, Manilyn, Sheryl Cruz, Tina Paner. Haha, napaghahalataan ang edad ko.
Lea does not have the pinoy masa appeal but she is world class. She went for world class level instead of pinoy masa appeal which means Pinoys’ standard is far from world class. Shouldn’ Pinoys raise their standard as well? Leave the bakya standard behind and up the game.
toroy ni tita lea! congratulations!
ReplyDeleteDon’t call her tita
Deletewow kudos tita lea!

ReplyDeleteLea is in a class of her own. Her likeability (masa) factor may not be there, but her achievements and singing talent speak for themselves.
