I remember watching Sana'y Wala ng Wakas with my son who was 1 year-old then. I was crying a lot when Sharon, Dina, and Cherie reunited in the end, and my son started to sympathy-cry 😁. That movie for me is classic.
RIP 🙏🏼 Cherie Gil I remember her from her song 'Boy' I love You in late 70's and in the comedy gag show Champoy Chanel 9 in the 80's with much veteran actresses Tessie Tomas and Mitch Valdez. She was the youngest then. Iconic on her Lavinia role and her dialogue in the movie 'Bituing Walang Ningning'. "You are nothing but a second Rate. TRYING HARD copycat." The most Notorious PH Female villain/ kontrabida since Bella Flores ( nee Gladys Reyes /Princess Punzalan). Many didn't know that she is suffering in silence. NO big news, No Funfare, Nothing 😔You will be surely missed. Your Craft and standard which is uniquely Cherie. She is a contradiction of being a villain with kindhearted and very humane attitude to small people. 💞 May her Soul Rest in Peace. 🙏🏼
Ang mga artista noong 80's napaka articulate mag english in speaking and writing. Titingalain mo hindi lang sa galing nila sa craft pero pati sa pagiging smart nila.
Cherrie seems to be a super nice person.
ReplyDeleteSabi nila kung sino daw yon madalas na kontrabida on screen yon pa daw yon mababait sa tunay na buhay. RIP Ms Cherie.

Dina really has a way of words. Actually lahat silang tatlo nila Sharon and Cherie very eloquent.
ReplyDeleteSing Me Your Song Again, Daddy was one of the first songs I memorized as a child. A few only know it was sung by Ms Cherrie.
