    2. 12:58 no it's not. It's way back.

      Delete
    3. Wow 1258. Mas May alam ka kesa WHO Ikaw na expert

      Delete
    4. 12:58 Nope. Saying it's M to M is inaccurate. Let's go back to how it started. It was discovered in 1958 sa mga captive monkeys sa Denmark. Hence, the name monkeypox but it's originally from rodents. It was an exclusively African virus. The "M to M" transmission is inaccurate because

      1) like smallpox and other viruses such as flu, it can be transmitted through infected bodily substances. Example, kung yung blisters ng positive monkeypox ay oozing and napunta sa skin ng negative person, the chance of the negative person getting it is high. As easy as that.

      2) Droplet transmission, if one positive person sneezes on your face, you will most likely get it too because the infected bodily substance (saliva) can go into your mucus membrane.

People shouldn't be scared anyway. If you had smallpox before, your chance of being immune to monkeypox is high. OR if you had the smallpox vaccine, your chances of not getting it is good as well. Also, smapplox vaccine can be used as PEP. There's also a monkeypox vaccine.

      Delete
    6. I hope you mean Monkey to Man. Napaka ignorant lang kase ng hirit eh

      Delete
    7. These viruses originates in North-Western hemisphere because of their outrageous lifestyle.

      Delete
    8. 12:38 Wrong. See 5:58.

      Delete
    9. Here in the US, maingat din sa paglalabas ng info at hindi hayagang sinsasabing ONE OF THE most common ways of transmission is via man to man intercourse. As an RN, alam naman sa ospital namin na totoo yan, wala lang nagsshout out loud because ayaw macancel

    10. Yes sa WHO nanggaling yung sa m to m. Anyway I’m sure kuya kim’s intention is not to humiliate the lgbt community but to spread awareness. As it was said, developing pa yung studies regarding monkeypox. Same with the covid vaccine, sabi nung una you won’t get the virus anymore if you take the vaccine pero hindi pala. Kaya guys spare him with your negativity

  2. Ok apology accepted but sana nag research ng mabuti, the damage has been done.

    1. He stated facts po. He researched and these infos are all from credible sources. Pero, mejo insensitive sa part na i highlight yung m to m. Yes, dyan nag start ang monekypox however, hindi naman sya std or just from m to m.

      Delete
    2. Hina mo naman maka intindi anon 9:00. Facts yun sinabi niya nagmamaru ka

      Delete
    3. If nag research sya Bakit nya kinorrect sarili nya…duh!

      Delete
Even here sa Canada, ganun din yung initial message. They made it sound na its STD and prevalent sa men.

      Delete
    5. Ganyan din po understanding ko.WHO or CDC released their initial statement how can monkey pox be spread.Men or gay with sexual relationships can be one of the transmission.Monkey pox vaccination rate is very high in New York City right now because of the high cases and the epicenter and I saw men are the ones falling in line to get it.I am not really worried by now that my family can be affected by this outbreak compared to Covid that unfortunately we all get it not once but two or three times.Unless CDC will announce that everyone of us needs a monkey pox vaccine.

      Delete
  3. That is why, as part of media, when you tweet or share things like that, dapat in a quote form. The way he wrote it is parang, "this is how I understand it". Instead, he should have written, "according to...". So kahit mali pa yung initial na tweets mo, okay lang kasi it was just a direct quote from someone else.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

      Delete
    2. Yeah, citation and quotation matters when it comes to journalism. He will mix his personal opinions for public information, he should have attached a citation on his tweet para hindi lumabas na direct attack at opinionated lang siya. Apparently, hindi siya journalist.

      Delete
  4. He's not a medical expert and shouldn't be posting things like this especially yung statement nya na M to M kaloka, mapa bata matanda lalake babae can get it basta may skin at body fluid contact, leave it to the experts

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

      Delete
    2. Teh itanong nyo yan sa WHO nagkakalat sa newsfeed at sa newspapers.Bakit sinabi yun kaya daw hindi kailangan vaccine for everybody just for those who are vulnerable.

    3. Sya ata next na DOH secretary if im not mistaken. Char.

  7. Kuya Kim you dont meed to apologize, tama naman yung sinabing mong mode of transmission na ma prevalent sa M to M per CDC na yan.

    1. Nasa newspaper din yan sinabi nung WHO

    2. Yung delivery ng tweet kasi is mejo off para sa mga myembro ng lgbt+ BUT then again ikanga "Facts don't care about your feelings".

      Delete
    3. Siguro ang mali nya dun parang sinabi nya kasi na through s3×ual transmission nakukuha ang monkeypox, hindi n nya nabanggit yung ibang way na makuha yun. Pero tama nga na mostly mga nag M to M daw(based sa local news) ang nagkakamonkeypox kaya sila yung priority na bakunahan ngayon dito sa state namin. Ingat po tayong lahat.

      Delete

    4. Exactly. He said USUALLY m to m, he did not say always.
Fact that have been established na by recent studies.

    5. Nag apologize na ano gusto mo delete nya?

      Delete
    6. Lol. He needed to apologize kasi yung WHO and CNBC, if you read their articles, may clarifactory paragraphs sila, na its prevalent to Gay and Bisexual Men with MULTIPLE PARTNERS.

      Delete
Mga less than 10 years old pababa. Little children.

  14. Monkeypox is not just spread through sexual intercourse. It can be thru droplets or mga bagay na nahawakan ng infected individual. Sexual intercourse is just one of many ways to transmit it. There are a lot of infographics na mas reliable sa source na pinost ni Kuya Kim. As someone from media, he should be mindful on how he uses his platform. Apology accepted, but may we all learned from this mistake and never do it again.

    4. Wait nyo dyan sa Pinas pag nagbigay ng monkey pox vaccine kung sino ang priority like in the country where I am now it’s not being homophobic but it’s because they are the most vulnerable according to CDC.

      Delete
  15. He could have said it better but I’m not surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Actually he is partly right . One of the modes of transmission is thru intercourse and it is prevalent among m to m . Although it can also be transmitted thru close contact .

  17. Covid19 was caused by a lab leak and then monkey pox came in as covid19 is waning in popularity :) :) :) Wake up people, monkey pox is here to make big pharma big profits :) :) :) Weird how they have a vaccine to a "disease" that just showed up recently :D :D :D

    2. Isa ka pa 11:32 na proponent of fake news. The vaccine being used for monkeypox is the same vaccine for smallpox that used to cause havoc decades ago. Since almost eradicated na smallpox, thanks to immunization, they set the vaccine aside. Now eto, may use ulit.

    3. yun nga,it is clearly man made.

Nakita ko yan sa WHO news kaya siguro yun ang nabalitaan ni Kiya Kim.Loko din kasi itong mokong sa WHO wag daw mabahala kaya daw they are not offerring the vaccine to everyone.

    ReplyDelete

  20. And that is the difference between media and journalists from the now-favored-by-the-government bloggers: accountability.

  21. Tama naman sinabi ni Kuya Kim. OA lang talaga itong lgbtq

    ReplyDelete
  22. He said, “usually M to M” there’s nothing wrong with this statement. His statement was not absolute, so stop the hate! Even in the US specifically in SF, this is what’s in the news, that monkeypox mostly affects those in the gay/bisexual communities - the dph even advises for gay/bisexuals not to have multiple partners!

    1. Same here. Parang through sexual transmission lang and usually M to M ang nagkakaroon nun.

      Delete
    2. Actually sa europe sinabi nga kumalat agad sa isang sauna tas more on gays yung nagkaron dun.Idk why people are so sensitive these days daming articles about it na nilalabas naman.

      Delete
    3. Pareho din narinig ko dito sa Canada. So wag masyadong high blood kay Kuya Kim.

      Delete
    4. Yup he said usually M to M. Hindi naman sinabi ni Mr. Kim na only for M to M. So tumigil na nga kayong mga reklamador.

      Delete
M to M daw. Bat ganun ang sinasabi.Dapat bilang WHO wag ganun ang ikuda sa interviews.Tinanong about the vaccine yung head mismo, it will not be distributed to everyone.

      Delete
  23. Check CDC. It is a fact.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tama naman kasi, straight to the point.M to M. Mag Ingat na lang mga baks. Use protection palagi,

    1. protection k jan, skin to skin contact kng or kahit sa mga bagay na meron monkeypox virus at nadampi sa balator nahawakan mo maarari ka nang mahawa, kahit sa beddings or clothes, kaya anong protection b yan? dapat naka full PPE with faceshields ganern?

      Delete
    2. 12:38, wrong ka baks. Anybody regardless of gender who has close contact with a career can get it. Gets mo. Get educated.

      Delete
  25. Others are still at risk through non-sexual contact. Kulang lang ang info ni Kuya Kim. It does seem like a setback to the gay community, and the homophobes would certainly take advantage of this issue, but the monkeypox virus doesn’t discriminate. It is what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  26. eh yun naman sabi ng WHO atbp. anong mali dun? nasa balita nga yan, as in mentioned talaga sa international news na Male to Male ang pinakamarami

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ang mistake ni Kim eh parang sini single out nya lang na sa gays lang nagmumula or thru gay sex lang makukuha ang monkeypox. That creates stigma again, just like HIV and AIDS.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True. Emphasizing to M to M alone. Kaya siya sinunog ng lgbt community. Even if his statement is factual, it shouldn't be single out alone sa M to M lang. It can be transmitted to droplets as well halos same sa droplets ng covid-19. Treatment are antiviral drugs, immunoglobulin and vaccine.

  30. Bigot. Slipped of the tongue remarks usually reflect who you really are.

    1. Kaya nga siya sinisi, kasi kulang info binigay nya and single out on M to M alone. Isip isip naman! Media personality siya, his info should not just be credible but also reliable. He may have stated a few facts on it. Which is sexual intercourse, but should not be limited to M to M alone.

  34. Ganito na lang, sa ating lahat na may social media account, please think before you post. BE RESPONSIBLE naman. Post the source, double check the source if hindi sa iyo nanggaling. Your mema can be death threats, bullying, racism, sexism, harassment, fraud, terrorism, sedition, and abuse in the eyes of a stranger and there are some laws that you might violate, with undeniable proof. The more followers, the more famous you are, the more LIABLE you are.

Nothing false with Kim's tweets, they just sound homophobic because he singled out gay men. What if someone famous proclaimed in public, 'many pedophiles are Catholic priests!' or 'a good percent of homophobes wear cowboy hats!' Nothing false too, but irresponsible with bad intent.

    1. I think Kuya Kim just heard this news from international News outlets. When somebody asked if vaccine should be made available for the public, then he said that its not for all blah blah.

      Delete
  35. Why are people here concluding that Mr. Kim is homophobic? So does that mean that WHO, CDC, and other government agencies in other countries are homophobic? The info that transmission and infection is thru M to M came from these agencies, which were based on the cases that they have. They even advised to not have multiple partners for the gay/bisexual communities. It came from them, not from kaya Kim. Gets niyo people?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Correct,it did not originate with kuya kim

      Delete
  36. What he said was a fact! This was based on the number of cases that first emerged in other countries.

    ReplyDelete
  37. People. This generation is so arrogant and sensitive. San Francisco LGBTQ is in crisis right now with the uptick in cases. And the cases confirmed so far are those M to M contacts.. di mo na talaga mapagsabihan ang mga tao ngayon. Tsk tsk

  38. tanong ko lang ano, bakit ang emphasis sa sexually transmitted disease coming from M to M, when the pictures of monkeypox victims are children. Yung tipong mga five year olds and toddlers when you google it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 1:43, I don’t know where you are getting your info or websites. For monkeypox, the pictures shown are usually hands and torso with vesicles typical of monkeypox. The pictures don’t even show the faces of these people. Maybe you’re googling chickenpox! You are so misinformed my friend kawawah ka naman...

  40. Those currently prioritized for vaccination in the US are men with multiple male sex partners. There are those who have come forward to describe their monkeypox experience and their commonality was having painful lesions in the mouth or rectum. Monkeypox is not an STI per se but since there's prolonged skin-to-skin contact in a sexual interaction, having an infected partner will make you an easy target of the virus. The present outbreak is believed to have been triggered by gay sex parties in Europe.
