When Mary had her church wedding with Edu M. in 1989 at the Apostolic Nunciature in Taft Avenue, Manila (it was kept private), it was James Cooper who acted as her parent and walked the aisle with her. Mary's mom and siblings were in absentia because of misunderstanding with her.
