So many people in the Philippines have poor media literacy - that's why the fake news and social media machinery put to work by some politicians work so well. That's what you get in a country where public school education standards are atrocious. It also explains why film and TV have such basic standards. People are generally ignorant, uninformed and lacking in discernment.
Sana nga. Ang issue ko lang here is that mismong taga DepEd and teachers ang pasimuno ng misinformation or revision history. Ang dami kong kilalang teachers na ganto. Ang kawawa pa dito is that kapag kinorrect mo pa sila sila pang galit. Pag iinitan pa ang anak mo
This is the same issue during the US Elections. The better solution would be to hold social media apps accountable. Like facebook for example, they should do some thing to at least lessen the spread of fake news.
