Hindi sa pagiging hypocrite, pero personally, we should wear appropriately when going to the church. Marami na kasi nakakalimot nyan ngayon. Tahanan pa rin yan ng Diyos. I used not to care too before until may isang pari na bago mag end yung mass, nag paalala sya about sa pananamit ng mga nagsisismba. Maraming tinamaan nun. May naka shorts, spaghetti straps, yung iba parang napadaan lang. He reminded, wear your best when you visit and present yourselves to God. It goes beyond judgment. It's about respect to our Almighty. Aminin man or hindi, they wore those because they thought it's cool. Matchy pa nga sila. Otherwise, there are plenty of any other suitable options. :)
I totally agree on you, my husband always put on pants tapos sando at jacket lang then slippers when going to church. I told him he should present himself in the church with effort. Its a gathering to thank God for another day to live and for surpassing difficulties. May maayos namang damit why not put it when going to church.

Who decides kung anong klaseng damit ang disente at maayos though? Styles of clothing have relaxed in general over the past few decades. As for meeting the pope, I dunno pero pag tiningnan mo naman ang clips ng mga tao sa vatican they all wear casual clothing. As for the queen, that institution impose yung mataas na level ng "decorum" cause they have to appear a certain way in front of the masses, mainly because their power is not as stable as before and their people can decide to dissolve the monarchy if they choose to. They have to project power and authority at all costs and impose it upon their constituents because that's what it will take for them to stay relevant...for the people to continue giving their hard earned taxes to them. They have to make people believe that they have power. For the most part I guess hindi naman ganun ang pinopromote ni jesus, he wants people to come as they are sa loob ng place of worship and go out na may natutunan man kahit papaano to be a better person. I'm not for or against sa dress code sa simbahan, my point is yung mga ginagawang fashion show ang simbahan at yung nagjujudge ng mga kasuotan sa simbahan are same side of the coin, at completely separate from those who sincerely go to church to pray. At the end of the day people who want to dress up a certain way will do so no matter what whenever they go to church. And in the same way, people who really want to be in church will be in church regardless of what they look like.
Kung okay lang pala ang ripped jeans, then imagine priests wearing ripped jeans na rin during mass, how would these "not hypocrites and judgmental kuno" feel? Okay pa rin? Iba ang simbahan, period.
Madalas ako naka ripped jeans sa simbahan, never akong sinita. More like pag sleeveless ang suot pinapa suot kami ng shawl o kahit anong malaking panyo o whatever basta pinapa cover up ang arms namin ng damit na provided ng simbahan. :)
