Maybe it’s a Filipino thing to wear so many jewelries... I used to when I live in the Philippines but when I move out of the country, I only wear my wedding ring, sometime I add watch if I have time, as I don’t see people i worked with everyday wears gazillion jewelries, except for some black woman (but not all) wears a lot of blings...
Personally I find it tacky and not practical to wear so many jewelries if you're only doing your groceries or going to the hospital but I know some people who like to show off them blings which is fair enough because they paid for them and it's their choice.
Not just Filipinos, Chinese, Middle-Eastern and other Southeast Asians are so into jewelries. Japanese and others from rich nations are not fond of displaying their jewelries. For me I don't like it, it is braggart's thing.
Mahilig ang mga Pilipino na nasa Pilipinas sa maraming suot na alphas. Ayoko ng marami dahil istorbo lang, kaya maliit na hikaw at wedding/engagement lang ang suot ko.

Yung mga yayamanin sa EU, maalahas naman! Sama mo na rin yung nga rich Eastern Europeans na may PYT na nakasabit sa braso nila, hahaha! Why do you think jewelry powerhouses like Bvlgari, Chaumet, Graff, Piaget, and VCA are still in business? Yung mga scandi-poor, or spain/portugal poor... eh poor talaga so walang borloloy, hahaha!
Tingin ko nasa kultura lang ng Asians ang mag-alahas; same reason why the jewelry biz always expands in Asia. Di mo rin masabing "trashy" ang tipong mga Indians or Middle Easterns na normal lang magsuot ng Rolex at mga half kg ng ginto for day wear. Sa Pinas, Thailand at Japan, kahit simpleng pearl or gold studs sa tenga, susuotin kahit pupunta lang sa mall para mag-grocery. To each his own, walang basagan ng trip.
Mas maigi ng isuot kaysa mawala o nakawin. Lol, I learn it the hard way. Mas nagsisi pa ako na nawala yung hikaw ko sa Paris kasi hinubad ko at nilagay sa tissue, ayun hindi na nakauwi ng De. Kaysa sa hikaw ko na tumalsik kasi nagwalwal ako sa Amsterdam. Yun ang hindi ko pinagsisihan na mawla. 😂 Yes, lagi akong nawawalan ng alahas kasi nilalagay ko din kung saan saan kaya mas mabuti ng suotin. Isa pa, kung anong choices mo, gawin mo. Hello, ang iksi ng buhay at hindi mo yan madadala kapag shutay ka na. Kaya wear it the way you want it. Keber na sa mga inggitera. Lol
Nakakaloka naman yung comments dito. Pati pala pagsusuot ng jewelries "trashy". Depende lang yan sa preference ng tao. Tulad ng yung iba fashionista, while some naman are into basic clothing.
Ano nga bang dapat gawin sa old wedding rings? Itapon? Itago sa baul? Tunawin? Galing naman yun sa tatay ni kc, kaya siguro binigay na lang nya. Its a rememebrance thats once upon a time her parents were in love... i guess.. hehe
my daughter wanted to keep my wedding ring also to her dad who is now my ex husband. kids want to have a keepsake of something special that would remind them that their parents used to love each other and that they are the product of that love. na hindi lang bad memory ng separation ang naalala nila but positive din. sana magets nyo tong lahat ito. salamat.
