    7. There are ongoing scientific studies on it but so far there is no evidence that it’s effective against the virus. The people using it are just reporting anecdotal results that may have nothing to do with the drug.

Which is wala ngang pinagkaiba sa virus.

    1. Hi. Yes merong available na ivermectin for humans na gawa from US. But at the time being, very limited studies palang ang meron para malaman ang effectiveness of the drug against the virus. And naglabas si FDA and DOH ng memo na tatanggalan ng lisensya ang doctors na magpreprescribed neto before their approval.

  24. That’s irresponsible and anecdotal nonsense. There is scientific evidence at all that it works on covid19 virus. From the latest study, this is what WHO said:

The WHO looked at studies that compared ivermectin against a placebo and against other drugs, in 16 randomised control trials examining 2,400 patients.

"We currently lack persuasive evidence of a mechanism of action for ivermectin in COVID-19, and any observed clinical benefit would be unexplained," it said.

    1. So anong tawag mo sa group of doctors na nag submit ng research data sa US senate and how they were able to use it on mild cases and with a big success rate?. In fact after them submitting data the drug has been elevated to a status of possible option as treatment by doctors by the national institutes for health. These group of doctors were treating covid patients for nine months one of them is a pulmonologist and ER doctor. As in they dealt first hand with cases. Dahil dyan Hindi yan mga dr quack quack na haka haka hula hula at pasok sa sinasabi mong scientist and doctors. People can choose vaccines but if the drugs can deliver anong masama sa madaming options na line of defense besides these are best protocol for mild cases pa Lang yung mas severe can have another protocol I don’t see what is wrong with having a lot of options especially that we are in an emergency. Magandang may dagdag Laban sa sakit than what we have right now.

      Delete
    2. Its not that I know for sure it's not effective but there isnt enough evidence to use it yet outside of clinical trials?? Its too soon to promote this for widespread use like what people are doing now. It is dangerous and misleading. I am all for ending the pandemic especially on cheaper and more accessible options but also wary of those who take advantage at pinagkakakitaan lang ang desperation ng mga tao. You state what is happening in the US. That was December 2020. Even now the US FDA does not recommend its use. On 5 March, they issued a warning on the use of veterinary ivermectin. “The FDA has received multiple reports of patients who have required medical support and been hospitalized after self-medicating with ivermectin intended for horses,”.

      Delete
    3. Any medicine or drug approved or not if taken by self medication is not adviseable. That applies also to FDA approved medicine even approved medicines have their dangers if not monitored or supervised or followed as advised. Example is pain killers which is intended for humans.

There are also some approved medicines being used not for its targeted or intended therapy I think the term is repurposed.

As far as I have read the ivermectin has been around for 10 years. Its so easy to just dismiss there isnt much evidence. So you think what these doctors submitted to the US senate hearing are flimsy research material?
Why would they do that? They are experts naman is it that hard to give their findings a look?

      Delete
    4. I’m sorry correction more than 10 years na pala yang ivermectin and there is the human grade,

      Delete
    5. Why would FDA and even our local medical community discourage it then, theyre experts as well? Importante ang peer review and consensus in medicine. People are looking into this as clinical studies. Ang point lng is antayin sana muna enough proof that its safe and effective for the larger population. Its not dismissing it, its giving due diligence

      Delete
  38. Nilinaw na ng expert yan. Kahit sila expert hindi nirerekomendA yan

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why don’t the proponents of this Ivermectin just apply and comply with the requirements of FDA instead of resorting to publicity and campaign. If they are confident with their drug then they should go ahead and present scientific studies and trial results.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Naku hindi yan na-approve ng WHO or FDA.

Ok, let's say it was effective to some, but what about the side effects in the long run. Better watch out on your kidneys and liver, di ka nga nagka covid, nagka liver and kidney failure ka naman. Tine-take mo na and nire-recommend pa eh di pa pala scientifically proven at wala pang FDA approval?
