    1. Ito naman yung madalas sabihin about Filipino food. Hindi na nakalagpas sa "gradually being known". Lagi na lang nasa level 1. Naiisip ko tuloy hindi siguro masarap magluto yung mga Filipino abroad na nasa food business.

    3. Filipino food kasi is not a visual food. Di makulay. Lagi brown, like earthy toned. Unlike yung pagkaun ng mga puti makukulay... pero walang lasa. Dito sa lugar ng mga puti, nag uunahan mga yan tumikim ng pagkaing pinoy kung may muktinational salo-salo. Yum. Sabi.

    4. 1:53 Kasi naman kung ikumpara mo sa Korean, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Japanese and Vietnamese food, pinakakulelat at unappealing talaga sa Asian countries ang Filipino food na masyadong greasy at high in sodium. But I think the pinoy restos abroad have done well in representing our food.

    5. Depende naman sa lutong pinoy, may mga luto na presentable at hindi nalulunod sa msg (pero wag ka, msg is asian! In small amounts, ok naman siya!). Medyo fusion lang talaga kasi mga putahe natin, medyo spanish (callos, caldereta, estofado, even spain has their adobo and lechon), medyo chinese (mga pansit, fried rice, lechon kawali), medyo western (spaghetti na matamis, burger steak na salisbury steak). Kaya mahirap mag-establish ng culinary identity.

    7. I don't think kailangan pa ni Selena ng clout dahil nga Selena Gomez na siya. Pero I agree na may mga foreign content creators sa YouTube at Facebook na may mga Pinoybaiting ang content bilang maraming Pilipino ang hayok sa global validation.

      Parang yung mga "reaction" vids ng mga foreigners sa Filipino singers or shows. Puro Pinoy ang viewers kaya kumikita talaga sila agad. May mga "proud to be Pinoy" pa sa comments.

    5. @155, the term adobo came from a Spanish term. The method already existed before the even came to the Philippines. When the Spanish people saw this, they did not know what it was called so they called it adobo ( from adobar/adobo, marinade).

      Please educate yourself. While the term is Spanish, the dish is Filipino. Adding soy sauce for some regional versions of adobo is not even Spanish. Guess where soy sauce came from? Adobo, the dish, with its evolutions is uniquely Filipino.

    12. Sa visayas naman ang pork adobo namin is more like humba (braised pork). When we speak of adobo, it's usually chicken and the best version for me is adobong pinauga which uses native chicken.

  22. Wag nyong pagdiskitahan ang mga international superstars like Selena kasi hindi nila tayo kailangan. To be honest, mas genuine pa nga sila pag sinabi nila na gusto nila ang particular thing sa pinoy culture kesa sa ibang foreigners sa youtube na puro pinoy ang laman ng channel nila. Ang laki ng kinikita sa pang-uuto sa mga pinoy tapos ang tatamad pa na puro reaction videos lang about Philippines ang ginagawa. Hindi man lang mag-effort gumawa ng original content about PH kung talagang interesado sila satin... Eh basta may big news dito or may nagviral na pinoy video, aba, gagawan nila ng reaction as if napakaimportante naman ng reaction nila. Sadly, madaming pinoy na hindi nag-iisip ang nauuto ng mga ito...
    Some of them I can really feel na mababa ang tingin sa pinoy eh... May iba dyan na gumagawa ng reaction to pinay actresses pero pag pinanood mo, may isiningit na celebrity from another country tapos yun ang talagang pupurihin nila. Matuto sanang bumasa ng subtle insults ang mga pinoy kasi insulto yun while they are smiling to us at pinagkakakitaan tayo tapos hindi pa nyo alam na iniinsulto na pala tayo. Malamang pinagtatawanan ng mga youtubers na yan ang mga pinoys in private.
