is it not too early? im a first time mom of a 13 mo old and from where i am now parents are advised to potty train toddlers from 2yo (kids begin school unofficially at 3 and they have to be potty trained by then). this early is bad for their hips moreso on the toilet without a babyproof seat. or am i wrong? ???
The age-appropriate time for toilet training is at 2-2 1/2 years old. Mommies / parents, stop forcing your toddlers to potty train too early. It does not help them, especially in this example where the baby cannot even stand alone yet. The normal development of the child's anatomy and cognition will be the innate signal for them to potty train.
Forcing activities that are not developmentally appropriate are harmful to infant growth. It also sows anxiety to other parents who may wonder why their kids may seem "delayed", or see it as a reflection of their parenting methods. Let us refrain from posting things like these just for social media content.
No, not bad for the hips. When you're carrying a baby ganyan rin position ng hips nila. And as you can see, the baby is fully supported, so halos walang weight sa hips yan.
I agree with you 12:34.
It's not really potty training pa, since the baby can't really go potty independently. We call it elimination communication wherein we create a routine for the baby so it's easier to transition to full potty training when they are older and ready, para din syang sleep training. It's being practiced traditionally here in the PH and in other Asian countries, pero ngayon lang sya mas nagiging mainstream.
ako naman hindi ko pa ini-start proactively mag potty train ang anak ko because he still pee during nap time. he’s 2.5y/o now. hope that does not make me a bad mom.
