Alam mo 3:01, yan din iniisip ko noon eh. BUT because my daughter loves a Kpop boy group, I had to learn more about them - kako e baka masamang impluwensya itong mga to. Guess what I discovered? This particular Kpop group advocates self-love, nourishing one's mental health, shows respect, discipline, and humility in every instance possible, and are boys full of heart and passion for their music. Sikat kasi so parang ang daling tirahin na 'mababaw', 'retoke', 'walang sense ang lyrics' - but ohmyGod if you actually read their Korean lyrics translated to English - it's poetry! Hindi kasi natin naiintindihan, ang nakikita lang natin yung nababaliw na mga fans. Pero pag inintindi mo bakit ang passionate ng fans nila - maiintindihan mo eh. To be honest, our local artists have a lot to learn from them in terms of how to interact with fans (they ALWAYS make their fans feel the most important - not the other way around), how to NOT settle for mediocre work (they train like 12 hours a day. YES, hindi exag yan. For most kpop groups ganun ka-intense, and makikita mo naman sa level of performance nila when on stage), and how to remain HUMBLE through it all (ito pinakamahirap, kasi jusko mga ibang celebs dito, sa Youtube pa lang sikat kala mo kung sino na).
This Kpop group I'm talking about just got their first Grammy nod after 7 years of dreaming about it, working hard for it, proving naysayers who said they'll never make it dead wrong.

I listened to one of her songs. She sounds like an auto-tuned Britney Spears. I mean Britney as is sounds auto-tuned but that auto-tuned Britney as the baseline then auto-tune it more - that's how auto-tuned she sounds. Second, the lyrics of her song are 80% "Baby" and 10% breathing. The remaining 10% are for English gibberish. So not sure what her beef is with Kpop nor why she thinks she's better - she's equally formulaic, overproduced and nonsensical. Her music is devoid of originality, it is vain and basically empty too. There are better ways to get noticed.
