Video of Catriona’s introduction as judge at #MissUniverseColombia . “Australian by birth but represented Philippines after living for a few years there.” WTF? You can see Cat clearly not comfortable with the introduction pic.twitter.com/qeXOuRTnaK

pwede naman sabihing Ms. Universe Phil eh, tapos wrong spelling pa yung last name, How impolite.
ReplyDeleteWith the name I agree. With the citizenship, in case Australian citizen talaga si Cat, I don't see anything wrong kung sabihin yun. Kung yun naman talaga ang totoo.
DeleteI don't see any lies said though.
ReplyDeletebut the question is, do you really have to say all of that?! Why can't you just say "Filipina" haha! She could have lived and raised in Timbuktu all her life and she will always be a Filipina coz her mom is a Filipina and she was raised like one.
DeleteYes! She’s Australian in the first place. Born, educated and raised in Australia
Deleteunnecessary and mejo shady kase ang dating. kung halimbawa iintroduce ka as "ate na panget". totoo naman pero di na kelangan sabihin diba.
DeleteThe truth is, if she had more chance of success in Australia, she would never represent the Philippines. Kaso pag dating nya dito, instant model agad sya eh. Proud to be pinoy na agad mga baks.
DeleteManiniwala lang ako na hindi nya ginamit ang Pilipinas pag pinatanggal nya yung Australian citizenship nya which I doubt she would ever do kasi madaming perks ang pagiging Aussie lol. She simply wants the best of both worlds and we are too stupid to fall for it.
DeleteWhy all the hate? She is Australian as much as she is Filipina. Such people exist. Ano problema dun?
DeleteGising mga baks may gegerahin tayis!
ReplyDeleteBadddddd ng columbian!!!! Pinahiya nila si catriona...
ReplyDeleteI would agree with you but please they are Colombians. Napapahiya din sila sa spelling mo mamsh.
DeleteOk lang Gray nga di nila kayang spell. Mas mahirap naman ang Columbia oh Colombia spell lol.- not 12:21
DeleteRUDE INTRODUCTION! Whoever created that horrible introduction should be castigated! You invited our Ms Universe only to be insulted! NEVER AGAIN!
But, anyways, parehas naman silang tama. She really is a filipina as well as an australian.
DeleteAng dating kasi is tumira lang siya dito for a few years then represented the Philippines na. Let’s not erase the fact naman that she is also Filipina.
Deleteang daming sensitive na wala sa lugar. there was nothing wrong with that introduction. it was an acknowledgement to both her birth country and her heritage.
DeleteWala! Tinagalog pa nga apelyido niya!
DeleteYes may mali. She is a Filipina.
DeleteThey were trying to throw shade at Catriona.
DeleteThats an offensive remark, and unnecessary. It’ s a shade sa philippine pageantry na pinas cannot claim catriona’s win as she’s australian. Habang lahat ng ginagawa ni catriona esp when she landed in colombia was all about philippines.
Delete2:14 On point! Mga know it all di pa marunong tumanggap ng corrections.
DeleteYES, IT WASN'T NECESSARY TO MENTION THE "AUSTRALIAN-BORN" PART.
DeletePWEDE NAMANG FASHION MODEL, SINGER, OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH EDUCATION ADVOCATE, AND SMILE TRAIN INGERNATIONAL AMBASSADOR, BAKIT IYON? KALOKA!
DeleteFilipina mom, Scottish dad. Australia is just where she was born. Obvious naman sa buong mundo yung efforts ni Cat na ibandera ang Pilipinas even sa hikaw at damit nya, but they had to go with her citizenship to define her. Yep, shade was thrown.
Nagkaroon ksi ng double meaning pwede naman sbhn na miss universe 2018 who is a black belter or kaya a good singer of all the things n pwede sabihin bakit un pa?
DeleteWhat they said is technically the truth; people with good manners just know not to underplay their own guests.
baka gusto nila sabihin may lahing Colombian itetch.
DeleteSubtle shade by Colombia
ReplyDeleteTaray ang Garay.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the lie tho
ReplyDeleteWhere’s the respect? Do they really have to say that?
DeleteThere is no lie but that is disrespectful.
DeleteKnow the difference
Nagkaroon ksi ng double meaning pwede naman sbhn na miss universe 2018 who is a black belter or kaya a good singer of all the things n pwede sabihin bakit un pa?
Dual citizenship si Cat pwede niya sana irepresent ang Aus but she chose Phils. Ugaling pinoy yan mapag angkin! HAHAHA
Delete@2:44 she chose the Philippines kasi alam nya na she'll stand out dahil patok ang mga half dito.
Delete@244 walang umaangkin kay cat, that’s her choice to join bbp, no one force her
DeleteTbh totoo naman. She went to the Philippines to have a career here. Dont give me that BS na she represented PH kasi mas mahal nya ang Pinas. She has a greater chance to be noticed here kasi we prefer halfies. Matic na yun na pag halfie ka, sasabihin sayo na mag artista sa pinas and not mag artista sa Australia.
Delete532 alam ng lahat yang pinagsasabi mo but in denial pa ang iba. 🤣 Pabayaan mo na. Lol
DeleteThat was shady af.
DeleteAnd to think Catriona happily obliged to go there as an invited guest.
DeleteHow disrespectful of the organizers!
Karma is upon their people!
totoo nmn anong sinabing mali ng host truth hurts
ReplyDeleteTruth hurts ba ateng?
ReplyDeleteYan din naisip ko😅
DeleteWas that necessary? The host could've just said Miss Universo 2018 from Filipinas. Then Mali pa ang spelling ng Catriona Gray. Naging GARAY?! Maling-mali ang Colombian organization. Bastos!
DeleteFor me there is nothing wrong with what he said because in actuality she is an australian citizen (or dual citizen) because what matter is her choice to represent the Philippines. Citizenship is irrelevant when it comes to making a choice. So...
ReplyDeleteWhich didnt translate with how it was scripted nd read. And again, those are unnecessary.
DeleteYou dont invite people in your house and disrespect them. There is 'truth' but theres a way of telling the truth in a respectful manner(kung kailangan pa nga bang sabihin). The organizer of Ms Colombia ay bastos
Delete2.53 yes its unnecessary but for me i don't care what is necessary and unnecessary for them because like i said her choice to represent the Philippines is the one that matters.
Delete10.57 bastos?? Hmmmm... Well for me they are ignorant because they dont know that citizenship doesn'tmatter when it comes to making choices as long as the country you are choosing is allowing you to choose them.
ReplyDeletePero ganda nya diyan diyosa
ReplyDeleteLol, kapal lang nang makeup. Too funny.
DeletePhilippines is one of the biggest social media users so...alam na this lol
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth tho? Lol people just don't want to accept that fact because she's OUR MU.
ReplyDeleteMismo.
DeleteNo. She is Australian AND Filipino "by birth" thanks to her parents. BORN AND RAISED in Australia kung gusto nila mag stick to the facts.
DeleteYes it is true, pero ang bastos lang ng dating kailangan himayin pa kung saan siya galing. Parang very wrong, tama ka 12:52AM parang nag invite para bastusin Pilipinas at may halong pagganti
DeleteFact is she is Fil-Aussie.
DeleteYup, half breeds know that they can make money here, even with no talent or profession. It’s a fact.
DeleteShes Fil- Scottish migrated/born in Aussie.
Deletelol ethnically Fil-Scottish but nationality is Australian. no shade pero she distances herself from Australia because pwede syang icriticize na hindi naman talaga sya representative of the Filipino people. which is true naman. she even changed her accent nga eh.
DeleteOkay Sana gown nya kaso ayoko Yung part na parang p.. p.k shorts siya
ReplyDeleteAgree. Sana mini skirt nalang
DeleteTrue. Ang awkward ng suot nya. Sinabutahi yata sya eh. Totoo nman yung introduction but hindi na kaylangan pang sabihin
DeleteMimiyuuh pasok! It really hurts...
ReplyDeleteIts the truth but there’s a lot more better ways to intoduce her.
ReplyDelete116 one side of the truth, basta Filipino citizen ang parent nya, kahit saan sya pinanganak Filipino si Cat.
Deletemuch love and respect for Cat, if that was me, I would have call them out for their shady introduction. Filipino citizen mom = Filipino citizen kiddo hence known as Citizenship by birth
DeleteWhat do you expect sa mga lahi nila, walang respeto, gang life.
DeleteWho the hell is Catriona Garay
ReplyDeleteBarrio fiesta level lng ang pageant lol
DeleteThe intention to disrespect her was so obvious
ReplyDeleteTruthhurts! She knows she’ll have an edge over local girls in the phils kasi half sya..vested interest!
ReplyDeleteThis! She could've chosen to represent AU kasi mas matagal sya dun pero alam nyang may advantage sya dito.
DeleteMismo!
DeleteYup. She can’t even speak the language.
Deletenothing wrong with being half half. ang daming mga half half na laki sa pinas na talagang pilipinong pilipino. sya she's pretty much australian despite her ethnicity being half asian. she doesn't even look filipino honestly.
Deleteiba ang mestisang pilipina na mestisa lang because heritage nila yun eg. sa grandparents time pa as opposed to yung half half na magulang ang half tapos yung anak laking abroad capitalizing on half-white (pretty much white) looks to get ahead in their ventures.
speak tagalog nga.
Pasabog pa rin siya as judge.
ReplyDeleteLalo na yung promo countdown HAHAHAHAHA
Hahaha bloopers! ...but she looks like a doll :)
ReplyDeleteher mom is Pinay, so ung citizenship na Filipino naipasa.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, they are just saying that she is not native pinay. Half-breed siya.
Delete6:45 ikaw yata ang hindi marunong umintindi. Ang sinasabi nila hindi siya Filipina, that she just live here and decided to represent this country.
Lol
ReplyDeleteIf you have no problem other people disrespecting you, then you have a big problem
DeleteAnong klaseng pagiisip yan? Pinay sya. Pilipino ang nanay nya. Hindi naman sya ampon. Dugo nya ay pinoy kaloka ka.
DeleteTrue! She doesn’t speak our language fluently.
DeleteVery true. She doesn’t look pure pinoy naman kasi.
DeleteSame sentiments mars
DeleteWhat made her Australian? Her dad and the fact that she was born there. What made her Filipino? Her mom and the fact that she CHOSE to be Filipino ( inaapply pa ang dual citizenship, hindi yan automatic). You can’t say mas matimbang ang pagiging Aussie niya because she is literally HALF Filipino HALF Australian. Ganiton kung ang baby of both Filipino parents born in Australia, automatic Australian citizen, don pinanganak, mukang Pinoy pero hindi nag dual sasabihin mo bang Filipino ang bata? Hindi. By blood and by law Catriona is Filipino tanggapin mo man o hindi
Deleteisang makitid na pananaw tsk tsk
DeleteAnong walang bahid eh kamukhang kamukha niya nga nanay niya hahaha
DeleteDisrespectful.
DeleteIntentional sabotage!!
ReplyDeleteTama naman ang description nila. Why is kat bothered by it.
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that Catriona is wearing Philippines all over her ever since she landed in Colombia., eh Dapat ni respeto nila un, they don’t need to mention Australia
ReplyDeleteCatriona Garay hahaha
ReplyDeleteBut that’s facts.
ReplyDeleteShe was born Australian then decided to have a Filipino passport (it’s her privilege) . 💁🏽♂️
4:45 - SHE DIDN'T DECIDE TO HAVE A FILIPINO PASSPORT. HER MOM IS PINAY SO AUTOMATICALLY SHE'S A FILIPINO CITIZEN.
Delete10.51 is her mom a filipino citizen when she was born or no dahil nagassume ka lang???? - not 4.45
DeleteThat’s the truth she’s Australian. Grew up and Educated in Australia, she doesn’t speak our language fluently.
ReplyDeleteUsually dapat pinapabasa muna sa person kung ano magiging introduction prior the event para pede irevise kung sakaling may mali sa info or may gusto pabago ung person to be introduce. weird at
ReplyDeletemukhang walang ganitong nangyari.
Oh my, the poor thing. May patama sa kanya. But it’s true though so she can’t really do anything.
ReplyDeleteOh well, the truth always hurts when you hear it.
ReplyDeleteThose people who find no fault in the kind of introduction are probably the kind of people who says "ang taba mo" to their pamangkins during family gatherings and find no fault because comment lang nila yun and totoo naman daw.
ReplyDeleteManners means knowing when to shut your trap about certain truths that could be offensive or awkward to people around you, lalo na sa mga taong inimbita mo lamang.
Imagine inviting Ariadna Gutierrez and introducing her as the woman who thought herself Miss Universe 2015 for a few minutes. It is true, but is it the right thing to say lalo na if ikaw mismo ang nang imbita sa kanya?
True sis
Delete6:52 - THANK YOU! YOU'RE MY HERO TODAY!
DeleteTumfact!
Delete6.52 They are ignorant thats why they did that to cat. But for you to say that ariadna thought herself as ms universe 2015 for a few minutes is very wrong bec Steve is the one culprit who made her think that. OMG! You are so wicked! I just cant.
ReplyDeletePinagsasabi mo tita? Ang pure American ay Native Americans. Everyone else are immigrants
DeleteLol.
ReplyDeletePia is halfie too pero we all know naman na lumaki siyang Pinay. Si Catriona ba marunong magtagalog? Lol.
DeleteYes what they say is true BUT it was insensitive and inappropriate as she represented the Philippines so parang nagtthrow sila ng shade sa sinabi nilang yun
ReplyDeleteIt really hurts ba? I wonder if aware sya beforehand na ganun intro sa kanya?
ReplyDeleteIt is true but tama na may madaming ibang ways to better introduce her. The fact that she posted a picture na nakalagay Filipina means may mali doon sa naging dating ng introduction. Ang tanong na lang kasi jan is ano ba yung intention nila to introduce her that way.
ReplyDeleteThe translation is wrong! He said: Born in Australia, represented the Philippines where she lived for many years. Get your facts right !!!
ReplyDeleteohhhhhh
Delete@ 2:41 AM obviously may bitterness sa introduction. why the need to say that she is Australian born and then mentioning that she represented the Philippines after only stayng here for a short while? She came to the Philippines as a teen ager, and been living here for quite a while. her mother is Filipina that makes her 50% Filipina. So paanong naging mas matimbang ang pagka-Aussie nya? She is a Filipino Citizen. otherwise she can't represent the country. She chose to represent the Philippines as a Filipino Citizen. ang mali doon e yung kinailangan pang sabihin yung Aussie-born siya.. so hindi ka proud dahil nanalo ang Pinas sa Miss U? so pag half breed dina pwedeng sumali sa Beauty contest?
DeleteI respect her. But since issue naman pala talaga lagi sa kanya ang citizenship, why not she initiate to drop her Australian citizenship and just be 100% Filipino? Mahirap ba yun? Just my two cents
ReplyDeleteBut she is both. Why force her to drop one over the other?
DeleteThat is the reason why I want to witness a pure pinay to win Miss Universe. Just like Gloria Diaz and Janine Tugonon.
ReplyDeleteCorrect!
Delete11:16 - PURE PINAY? HANAP KA DUN SA BUNDOK. SILA IYONG NEVER NAHALUHAN NG FOREIGN BLOOD.
Delete10:53 fyi. most Filipinos, even those from the highlands have ancestors that were of Malay descent, or from Southeast asian na mainland. Thats why we have similar features with Indonesians, some Malaysians and other SEA countries.
Haller? She wouldn’t have this much success if she stayed in Australia.
DeleteShady but true hahaha
ReplyDeleteWala namang mali sa sinabi. She was indeed born in Queensland, Australia. She even deliberately changed her accent to be more relatable to the average Pinoy.
ReplyDeleteWalang masama sa introduction ng host....
ReplyDeleteCatriona Gray
Model,Beauty Queen,Miss Universe 2018,Australian born represented the Philippines where she live for few years, black belter in taekwondo, music teacher and singer.
Wala naman sinabi na mali ah.
Why do they have to put into script "Australian born"?
Deleteis it really something cannot be taken away to her title as Ms. Universe?
that's is indirectly disrespectful and insensitive introduction.
I agree. When said in Spanish, parang hindi naman sya shady for me. Kasi baka hindi rin talaga uso sa kanila to mention dual heritage like "Filipino Australian" or "Mexican American". I don't think it was meant to throw shade at Cat, though naiintindihan ko rin bakit pwedeng mamisinterpret when translated in English in the context of the situation na it happened in Colombia to a Filipina beauty queen.
DeletePalpak ung Garay so i think palpak pati intro.
DeleteIt's wrong and unnecessary. The disrespect. It's like you do not acknowledge Philippines as her home country. Sa mga hindi makaintindi sa point, get your shts together.
ReplyDeleteShe was indirectly disrespected.
ReplyDeletebeing called and address as an "Australian born" as an introduction was technically inappropriate as she holds the title Ms. Philippines and Ms. Universe 2018.
what is the script trying to insinuate? mga bastos.
Maybe she just prefers being introduced as Filipina, because she represented the Philippines when she competed.
ReplyDeleteBut the introduction was correct though...lol, rude but true.
DeleteIt's all about pakinabang. Nakinabang siya as a Filipina, pinakinabangan ang English niya as an Aussie ng mga Pinoy.
ReplyDeleteThis.
She clearly represented the Philippines so sana yung title nalang binanggit nila.
ReplyDeleteVery uncouth. Very uncalled for.
ReplyDeleteThey could’ve said Ms. Philippines cz that’s the country she represents when she won Miss Universe.. Ba’t pinahaba pa ang intro unless of course they’re up to something...
ReplyDeleteThis is very typical sa ugali ng mga Latino. Wala silang pake. And alam natin na malaking dagok sa kanila na di nanalo yung bet nilang mukhang cheap imitation ni Sofia Vergara vs Queen P kaya they took this opportunity to get back at us making it seem na a pure blooded Pinay wouldn’t make it to Miss Universe.
ReplyDeletethat's colombia being saltyAF but i mean... truth be told, she's aussie; sorrynotsorry
ReplyDeleteTotoo naman kasi kung don sya sa australia wala ng papansin sa kanya ordinary lang sya don kaya dito sya lumipat to have beaucon career ay modeling! Alam mabili ang mestiza dito! Parang james reid, yong ex nya, sina kim jones, solenn, derek, georgina, at iba pa na half!
ReplyDeleteNaive naman ng iba dito. Siguro true nga na born in Australia pero obviously they were throwing shade at her and the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteThis was a trap from the very begining to humiliate Cat, sour graping pa rin mga Colombians
ReplyDeleteOMG! Filipinos are really ignorant katulad nung host. A pot calling a kettle black?
Siguro kasi they can’t contest ang pagiging Pilipina ni Pia while Catriona on the other hand...
ReplyDelete
