  1. 10 years is just too short for the hate crime he’s done. Just go back to your country and never ever ever come back!!!!

    1. Some perspective. Stalin killed 20 million Russians, Mao 45 million, Manson murders, Armenian genocide and so on.

    2. Hate crime o dahil natanso siya?

    3. Who would even want to go here? Mga medical workers nga mismo natin ayaw dito, yan pa ba. And yes, he should be denied entry everywhere spare his motherland. I wonder if he'll be jailed there?

    4. 1:15 nope, but he will have a felony in his record

    1. Hindi settlement yun kasama yun sa hatol as damages. Binabayaran talaga dapat yun.

  4. Victim blaming na kung victim blaming pero sa dulo kasi wag tayong manlinlang ng kapwa. Yan yung moral lesson to this. Kung no issue sa simula then walang prob na lalabas. Masaya ang buhay.

    1. But how did you know na nalinlang sya? Again, patay na yung trans so how can she defend herself sa accusation nung Pemberton na naloko sya? We have to keep in mind na gustong makalaya or makatakas nung tao, so syempre he will say/do anything para makalabas na.

    2. Its not a hate crime then but deceit

    3. Besh, buhay ang kapalit sa pag linlang? Wag naman, hindi naman tayo tulisan. Patayin kasi nagoyo?

  6. If only he just walked out when he realized he was actually a dude. Kapag may trouble, keep your composure and just walk away.

    1. Pero he was drunk that time di ba kaya siguro di nakapag keep ng composure.

    2. I dunno, hindi mo talaga mapepredict yung reaksyon ng mga tao dahil essentially r*pe ang nangyari if the events did unfold the way you described it (I guess we'll never really find out) and if ang scenario na ito ay nangyari sa biological female for example, na let's say nagconsent sa isang intimate act and later on after the deed found out information that would otherwise affect whether magcoconsent ba siya or hindi nobody would just tell her to have the composure to walk away because the deed was already done afterall. One of the reasons why hindi pinapatay ng mga victims yung r*pist nila is because of strength/size difference, they're not physically capable but I feel like they would do it kung may opportunity sila at that time na nangyari sa kanila yun. That being said, parang ang hirap paniwalaan na hindi alam nung marine cause of the context, cause for the most part parang associated na yung olongapo sa s** work/tourism na ineexploit at sinusustain ng mga dayong US military sa lugar na yun...so I have a feeling they would have an idea kung saan silang lugar pupunta depending on their preferences, like if they just wanna hook up, or magbayad for 'services' from every gender na preferred nila, etc. Parang imposible na hindi sila aware na that is a possibility if they hook up with strangers at a context like that.

    3. Excuse na yung drunk siya? Pwede pumatay kasi lasing naman?

    4. Excuse ba ang pagiging lasing? Mga drunk drivers nga pinaparusahan pag nakaaksidente.

  7. Hmmm, in pinas the question is always, how much?

  8. @1:15 yes, my husband is an active duty us marine and he told me na makukulong sya pagbalik nya dito sa brig or military prison inside their base. But idk how long.

  9. kung ako sa laude fam, humingi ako ng us citizenships, secure jobs/education at bahay/property sa tate for my family. jennifer wanted a better life for them and this would've been a way to accomplish that.

    1. They did. I’m from subic. The whole family is in states na.

    2. Hmm, di ko sure beks...pero as far as I know hindi path to citizenship yung mga ganitong case. You can't just demand a country to grant citizenship, housing, and jobs because may ginawan ng atrocity ang isa sa mga citizens nila, though representative ng military nila yung individual na yun so I dunno. But even refugees na nakaexperience ng pinakamalupit at pinakaevil na oppression sa bansa nila hindi basta basta nakakakuha ng US citizenship and have to wait a few years.

    3. 1.35 na sa states? How?

    4. That’s not the way to become a US citizen 10:45. Citizenship is govern by immigration laws and not by virtue of being a family of the victim killed by US citizen.

  10. As a soldier, he should have had the discipline to walk away when he found out that the victim was a guy. But to be fair with him, the law is the law and the law that convicted him is now giving him the freedom he earned. Ma swerte siya because he has the privilege to have an attorney and the US to look after his affairs. Ang dami din sigurong prisoners ang eligible to have their sentence shortened pero walang means. I’m torn with this kasi someone was killed, pero how can we give people a chance to rehabilitate themselves na within their rights na provided by the law din naman.

    1. To be fair to him also, he was just 19 years old when it happened.

    2. And to be fair din with Jennifer, she was only 26 when she died. Pemberton, pag makalaya, still can continue with his life. Bata pa rin siya. Jennifer was deprived of that when her life was cut short.

    1. He did his time. The worst he can get is a dishonorable discharge.

    2. Yep! automatic DD 5:47 and he can’t even claim a veteran status if he applies for a job.

  12. 3.02 Hindi Kasi pumayag Ang pinas na iturn over siya sa military court dahil siguro sa kawalan ng tiwala. But yup! Way worse doon!

    1. At least the prison facility’s condition’s is waybetter than the hellhole prison of the phils. Prisons in the states are clean, the food is good, they’ve recreation area like library/gym, they have options to go to earn a degree while in confinement, etc.
