2:34, You can go online and check. Australia is one of the least corrupt countries in the world. Ang level ng Pilipinas when it comes to corruption is pang Third world.
So what if Cat is Australian? She is also a Filipino and has every right to speak up on Phil issues. In fact, Filipinos should be encouraged to speak up if they see something wrong with our public servants. Those who keep quiet become enablers of this regime's abuses.
So wag kayo magtaka kung may nagrereklamo.
People dont have a problem fighting terrorism, they have a problem of the government consistently violating human rights and do not want to give them more avenues to do it with impunity.
Aussie laws may seem tougher than laws in Pinas, the big difference is kapag law, law talaga. It applies to everyone. Kapag may tiwali or scandal, kinabukasan or makalawa stood down na ung tao and there are times na even their opinion would step back.
Ngek, manuod nga kayo nang 60 minutes at iba pang Australian news, mas masahol sila umabuso nang position oy. Hindi porket puti sila at mayaman na bansa nila zero abuse na of power --- if the grass is greener on the other side it is probably fake.
Ghorl wala naman umawat sa kanya to represent Australia as well pero baka she knew she had better chances to win if Philippines ang irerepresent niya.
The law guides the actions of the government. Malay mo magimprove ang officials natin in the future.
Australia’s laws are strict because this is one law that no public official would abuse over there. It’s strictly focused on anti-terrorism and extremism. Now, until our country isn’t seen as a dictatorship by Western counties and organisations, this law is questionable given our notorious record of corruption, misuse of power and police brutality.
What i find frustrating is yung mga taong in denial pa rin na may abuse of power sa Pinas. Bilog ang mundo. And if one day makuha ng LP/Dilawan/Anti-Duterte yung pwesto, tignan natin kung hindi kayo manginig sa takot. Like i said talamak ang power trip sa Pilipinas.
sinole lang naman kasi.. DO NOT UNDERMINE people’s opinion on why they are sgainst the sudden passing of this bill.. HINDI BA PWEDENG PAKINGGAN YUNG HINAING NG MGA TAO NA KARAMIHAN NAMAN E MAY UTAK DIN AT HINDI BASTA BASTA LANG KUKUDA.. THESE PEOPLE ARE JUDT ASKING NA REPASUHIN AT BIGYAN NG SPECIFICS YUNG MGA NAKIKITA NILANG MEDYO MALABO AT GREY AREA NA PWEDE TALAGAMG MAABUSO KUNG GUGUSTUHIN. Lalo pa sa Pilipinas, jusko, sinpleng DUAL CITIZENSHIP NA NGA LANG E HANGGANG NGAYON E DI PA TAPOS PAG USAPAN AT PILIT PANG HINAHANAPAN NG BUTAS.. what more yung mga ganyan anti terrorism act na direktang may kinalaman sa hindi pag sang ayon sa pamamapakad ng gobyerno.
The ethical standard, strength of institution, morality of government and quality of the police are much higher in Australia than in PH. How much trust can you give to the PH police?
Why should we compare the laws of Australia to ours. Our government can basically do whatever they want with impunity and without accountability as it is. Now they want to basically legalize impunity under the cover of the “anti-terrorism bill”. This is not the case in Australia.
Lol, Australia is one of the ten least corrupt countries in the world. Pinas is among the bottom countries on the list. That pretty much says it all. Lawson’s point is invalid.
We are copying the laws of First World Nations. Walang masama duon? Gusto nating maging better.
And mind you subject to interpretation pa ang batas sa current administration
But sir ping, why the heck ito anti terrorism law ang uunahin nyo???? Bkit hndi nyo unahin yung kay late meriam's law... Kasi mas may sense yun s nangyayari ngayon kesa s terrorista.
Hello Sen Lacson Australia is not corrupt and there is at least tranparencies in governance unlike in the Philippines na one of the most corrupt countries in the world and the government officials are just warming their seats and yet enjoying the perks of being a government official.
She’s a Filipina citizen, or else she wouldn’t have been Ms. PH. She lives in the Philippines. She pays taxes in the Philippines. She has the right to express her disapproval. It’s as simple as that 🤷🏻♂️ Bringing Australia in the discussion is merely diverting the issue.
Lacson hit the bull’s eye. Please read the proposed bill and the 1987 Constitution. Filipinos, wag naman po puro komento. Read and don’t skip any portion of the bill. The exceptions, the reportorial requirements to CHR and the Judge in the locality. Please. Read them all.
We read the bill in its entirety several times and discussed it with human rights experts. The conclusion is that the government will weaponize it against the citizens and will disproportionately disadvantage the poor and the vulnerable
Smh
The 1987 Constitution allows only 3 days detention while this proposed bill allows the detention of a suspected terrorist for 14 to 24 days without judicially charging them. Also, the Anti-Terrorism Council to be composed of mostly cabinet members could allow taking custody of a suspected terrorist. The Constitution is very clear that only the judicial power could do that.
It is not just about the letters of the law. The big issue is do we trust that our government will not abuse it? NO NO NO.
Lol I am in Germany ha at akala ko dati dito halos wlang problema pero jusko.
There is only a small number of homeless people in Australia. You can even count on your fingers. And during the outbreak, they were all housed in hotels by the government.
Any citizen of the world can oppose it because we are living in one world, and the abuse of one affects the rest of the world.
nagpapaniwala kayo jan k lacson. i migrated here in Australia. yes mahigpit dito lalo n sa foreigner pero sa pinas un p lng bagsak na daming overstaying. tsaka u can never be tag as a terorist pag pag voice out k ng opinion laban sa government dito depende n lng anu gnawa mo sympre my proseso din yan at hndi gaya sa pinas na aabusuhin lng yng power n yan.
We have trust issues against those who are supposed to uphold the law. They are simply not trustworthy.
This is a democratic country dude. Everybody is free to have their own opinion.
Kung ayaw natin itong bill because it is subject to abuse, then huwag na tayong gumawa ng anti-terror bill? Yun ba ang gusto natin? How do we protect our country from experiencing the acts of terrorism like Marawi and those experienced in Europe?
I dont know kung may law ba at ayoko mag google pero imposibleng walang law about terrorism.
aw... Catriona research muna kc.. i find her articulate p nmn pro hndi dn pla gnun katalino.. lol.. halatang scripted lng ang pinagssb..
ReplyDeleteLol. So kayo na agree ang matatalino.
