Ahead of You

Within the past months, the covid-19 pandemic has triggered various and diverse reactions from celebrities. On the one hand, many celebrities have used their resources to start donations to help the healthcare sector and other communities affected by the work stoppage. Certain celebrities have used the time to explore other possible ways to earn, such as producing their own products and selling online. On the other hand, others have expressed their disappointment at the responses of officials during the crisis.

The reality was that all activities in the entertainment industry halted and workers had to react at the situation presented to them. Most celebrities became ordinary citizens and followed their lockdown rules. For example, communities implemented a system for distributing relief goods. People who needed help formed lines according to marks on the street and observed social distancing. In other areas, residents left chairs in front of their homes as the spot where officials can place relief goods.

In a certain community, neighbors were surprised to see a chair in front of the house of Seasoned Actress (SA). What was striking was the consistent putting up of the chair in front of SA’s house. Her helpers would even be the first to bring out the chair ahead of everyone else, which gave her neighbors something to think about.

Unlike most of her contemporaries, SA had a string of projects from a network and appearances in movies. Thus, she had a means of living prior to the stoppage of work due to the pandemic. Hence, SA was expected to behave like other neighbors. Many homes in her area have made signs that their households did not need the relief goods and that they preferred their allocation to be given to the poor neighbors or the ones who need the goods most.

As to whether SA’s household partakes of such goods or she gives them away remains a question. The only thing that is sure is that her neighbors who are not as well-off as SA have forfeited their share for others.

‘I think I've always been very good at taking advantage of the opportunities that have been given to me, because I didn't have many. Once I got one, I grabbed it with two hands.’ − Victoria Azarenka

  2. I think wala naman masama sa ginawa niya? Tbh we all deserve to get a ayuda from our goverment pera natin yun. We have the right makuha mayaman ka man o hinde. Yes, I Can say we are blessed but siempre as an citizen gusto ko rin makakuha para maramdaman ko rin kahit paano at nakikita ko San napupunta taxes binabayad ko sa lungsod na saan ako nag work at a nakatira. Nakakuha kami 1st wave lang and thats it. I never explained . did i share it? Yes we did naman siempre . Sa mga kasambahay namin, sa guard ng subdivision namin marami. May iba nga ayuda diyan hinde nga binibigay talaga minsan binubulsa pa. Kaya I dont see any wrong sa ginawa ni actress. Tandaan ngayon pandemic labanan dito patagalan ng pisi at para paraan para mabuhay at makain

  7. Why discriminate? Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt that she shares it with others.

  9. She pays her taxes and she does not have income now. She has a right to that. She may be giving that to her kasambahays to add to their food.

  11. thats the problem with some people. sa tingin nila “well off” people are not entitled to anything. puro less fortunate at mahihirap. they are people too lahat may karapatan mayaman o mahirap. lahat apektado ng covid. kung maka pansin at discriminate naman parang wala na karapatan pansinin nyo muna sarili nyo rather pointing fingers.

  12. Lahat may karapatan sa ayuda. For sure nagbabayad naman sya ng malaking buwis

  13. Well, kung sunod-sunod projects nya. Pandemic ngayon kaya may kaya or wala, go lang kung may ayuda. Besides, required ba na wag kumuha if may pera ka? hindi naman diba. so Go lang actress. :)

  14. Wala naman masama. Ako na may kaya sa buhay hinayaan ko na maglagay ng upuan ang mga kasambahay ko. Then nung may dumating, pinakita sa akin. Then kinuha rin nila kinain nila.

  15. Ako kinuha ko. And gave it away to people whom I think deserved my help.
