It’s more on encouraging the mother to have proper nutrition by eating balanced diet and increasing fluid intake ( water). Infant formula can be given if there’s no other option to feed babies 6 months below, pag wala na talagang lumalabas na milk kay mommy. ☺️

    1. Not all mommies can produce sufficient breast milk. For my first child I had to supplement with formula dahil she was not gaining weight. FED IS BEST.

Breastfeeding is good and that is a fact pero aanhin mo ang breastfeeding kng yong nanay walang makain na masustansya or malnourished ang nanay. What kind of milk man ang makuha ng baby? I gave birth at 42 and yes I have a problem producing enough milk for my baby that is why I had to feed her formula too while doing breaastfeeding. Ang importante dito is that the baby is getting the right nutrition. If sardinas lng kinakain dahil sa lockdown, ano expect mo makuha ni baby. Yan ang point ni Chyna. And again not all moms can produce milk right away upon giving birth so hospitals should stop being hypocrite about 100 % BF. It sometimes take a week or so to produce milk.

    4. not gaining weight? that's not a valid reason to switch. weight isn't a big issue unless malnourished yung anak mo, then yea, i guess it is. pero if not, wag mo pilitin tumaba yung anak mo. make sure lang that the kid gets fed on time.

    5. i dont think the government is prohibiting you to do whatever to your body, they are more concerned about the baby who cannot decide for themselves and not you. you do know pinag aralam mabuti yang mga batas na yan, it's not just a mere "utos" like what you're trying to say. if you want, you can make a study and present it to them.

    6. 12:36 how can you say that lahat ng nanay can produce milk. Cause I myself I wish I can pero Hindi talaga ako makakapag produce cause I'm breast cancer survivor both of my Breast was removed via mastectomy. I have a 5 month old baby right now. And my number one concern is how can I feed my child. And that concern was before all these things happen. But after the lockdown was announced mas lalo akong nagworry kasi before makakalabas kami to get breastmilk to milk bank or diff org that donates breastmilk anytime. Now seeing my child walng makain it really hurts me as a mother. But I will rather use formula milk para sa kanya kahit ayaw ko kaysa seeing him hungry.

    7. There's always an exception to the rule but maliit lang na percentage ang hindi nakakapagproduce ng milk or hindi pwede magbreastfeed. And ung diet ng mommy has little influence on her milk. Same lang ang quality sa healthy moms.

  3. i understand her point, pero madali kasi matake advantage yan ng mga infant milk companies. iniiwasan kasi na magkaron ng stigma that infant formulas are the way to go. especially we are a 3rd world country, most people cant afford infant formulas. if people would start to think that formula is better, then they'd be forced to buy infant formulas instead of breastfeed. many people here madaling mauto ng mga commercials. the law is there for a reason. if u want to change the law then you can go through the proper channels.

    1. I agree 1:19. If only she was educated about breastfeeding, wala sana syang problema kung saan hahanapin pambili ng gatas ng anak nia. And take note, kailangan din ng distilled water lalo na sa infant eh pano ma-aafford un ng mahihirap. Breastmilk is so much healthier and safe kesa formula milk.

  4. There are findings na kahit hindi healthy ang kinakain ng mommy, she can still produce breastmilk that is far superior than formula milk. I understand na maraming mommies nagka-problem sa breastfeeding but we also need to accept na compared sa commercials ng milk companies on TV, parang less lang ang press release about how to do proper breastfeeding. Tapos may mga mommies, may postpartum or baby blues kaya may anxiety so madalas natatakot if tama yung ginagawa nya. Wag sana i-include sa donation yung formula milk kasi it will just give the milk companies undue advantage and free promotion. After pandemic, the family will have to continue buying formula milk which will translate to thousands of pesos compared to breastmilk that is free and far superior. If talagang kailangan, tska na lang bibigyan ng formula milk but there should be a process at hindi lahat bibigyan kaagad-agad. Breastmilk contains millions of good bacteria that can help the baby. A baby who had corona virus in another country just recovered from the virus just through breastfeeding at walang meds. Scientists are now exploring if breastmilk can help address corona virus.

  5. Whether Exclusive BF yan, pumped breast milk or formula Ang importante Ang mapakain Ang bata. Do u know how stressed mom get trying to BF their baby kung talagang hirap mag BF? I know I was one of them. In the end, pareho Kami nagsuffer mag-ina. I'm still working through my PPD

    1. I understand you, 100%. I did my very best to bf my eldest. Lactation massage, supplements, drinks, unli latch, wala. Hindi talaga umubra. Baby had dehydration. I almost lost my mind worrying. That time pwede naman ako magpadala sa pressure na breastfeeding is best. Hehe. Wala talaga. So our Pedia went ahead and prescribed formula. That was 9 years ago. Healthy ang anak ko. Hindi sakitin. Matalino, consistent honor student. Mabait.

Pero sa bunso ko, nakapagpa breastfeed kami. Healthy din siya. Hindi din sakitin. Matalino din. Mabait din. Na pressure din ako. Nagirapan din.

The point is, sana i-consider din nila yung hirap ng nanay. Emotionally, physically. FED IS BEST. Kahit magkamatayan tayo, yun ang apniniwalaan ko.

  6. 1:19-So you'd rather have the child go hungry instead of putting safeguards to protect against potential abuses/prosecuting wrongdoers? The priority should be feeding the child so that he/she can survive. Not everyone has access to breastmilk, and it is shortsighted, insensitive, and inhumane to preclude the donation of a perfectly viable alternative. From: a mom who grew up on formula and who had difficulty producing breastmilk, and whose child ended up confined in the hospital after birth in part because nurses refused to permit supplementation of the child's diet with formula when I was not producing milk.

  7. Formula milk in all its commercial glory will always be INFERIOR to breastmilk.
Iba ang structure ng cows milk - they are for the younglings of the cows nga di ba.
Kaya kung ano anong fortification ang gingawa sa kanya - iron fortified, DHA and whatever that will appear good Sa commercial.
Even going as far as claiming mas mainam siya kesa breastmilk (check old commercials before milk code was strictly enforced, there is a brand na aggresive masyado ang promotion)

Your baby is a human. Not a cow. Bakit ka magdududa sa kakayahan mo mag produce ng milk for your LO? Says who?

Yun totoo, mahirap kasi magpa breastfeed.

Yun "Fed is Best" is a propaganda by milk manufacturers by the way.

Sorry out of topic ang post ko. Hehehe. Love love lang mga mamsh.

    1. To mommy 7:46 congrats!!! Dont stress masyado. There are tons of ways even if inverted nipple. You can use breast shields. Also, there’s a fantastic support group on FB - BFP (breastfeeding pinays) that was a huge help for me. Join ka na dun mommy so you’d get medical advise.
