Just Be Watchful

With competition becoming intense in the entertainment industry, every move of a talent is carefully watched. Acting skills are not enough to sustain a talent, as even behavior outside of the camera is observed. Social media posts and reactions are duly noted, as such items reflect the personality of the talent. Subsequently, being rude to netizens can affect the image of that talent.

As a talent moves up in the priority list of management, the more that he/she should be mindful of his/her actions, which is not easy to accomplish. Eventually, something gives in that will merit damage control from his/her management if a talent acts without thinking.

When Network Talent (NT) realized that the time between her projects was increasing quickly, she asked for a meeting with the management. Once the management’s pride and joy, NT’s career has been a rollercoaster ride. One time, her projects were bringing in money to the producers, and the next time, the movement has slowed down and eventually halted.

The meeting did not turn fruitful, as the decision-makers could only say that they have yet to find a suitable role for her. The implication was that NT has been demoted from the top go-to talents to the ‘we’ll think about it’ list. NT could only do so much, as the decision was handed down. Thus, these days, her projects are slow in coming and any one that is aired must create enough waves to ensure that she would not be relegated to the back.
