    1. Capital kasi.

Good vibes na gusto pa gawing nega. Wag selfish. Manila is Phils capital, majority nagets yon. Mapapakamot kami ng ulo, as always.

      Delete

At ayan may umalma nga.

    10. It was a show of very high and beautiful spirit and Sarah wants to ruin that. Why? Sayang ang saya. It is a very iconic OPM.

      Delete
    11. none of the above... ang gusto daw ni Inday Inday ay budots wahahahaha!!

      Delete
    12. 150 Tama bahay kubo nalang na ibat ibang dialects para all inclusive, as they say.

      Delete

Kahit nung sa ibang bansa pa ako nagwork, nung sinabi ong I'm from the Philippines, nakatingin lang sila, pero nung sinabi kong in Manila, ayun alam na nila.

      Delete
    18. OKAY. I GET HER SENTIMENT - THAT THE PHILIPPINES IS MANILA CENTRIC BUT THE PERFORMANCES SHOWCASED DIFFERENT SIDES OF OUR CULTURE SO PWEDE NA.

No offense meant to Yoyoy and the composer.

Guys, i-google nyo yung song then imagine nyo si Pia and the Philippine delegation walking to the beat of Philippine Geography 😛

    1. Hindi un ang point nya e.

Im sure if the song is Davao Davao, it won't be an "inclusion" issue with her.

"MANILA" is one of the most popular songs associated with the Philippines. Ano ba yan

      Delete
    2. also, Manila is the capital of the Philippines so ok lang naman i showcase sya

      Delete
    3. Dapat pala Manang Biday at Waray Waray para Ilocano at Bisaya.

      Delete
    4. It’s pinas baks, magulo, maingay, makes no sense.

      Delete

So for me, okey lang na yung song ang ginamit.

      Delete
    7. 126 Literal yata sila magisip. Nung narinig ko din yung song and napanuod ung performance, hindi naman ako naproud for Manila alone, I’m proud for the whole Philippines.

      Delete
    8. sana kse pinoy ako n lng

  5. Manila is Philippines , it's the country's capital.

    1. 125 It is just the capital, not the entire country and does not represent the entire nation.

      Delete
    2. It is the country's capital. It is the representation of the nation. If I am to subscribe with your line of thinking, are you saying that Lupang Hinirang is just a song, it does not represent the Philippines? Go to Timbuktu then.

    3. 149 isa ka pang snowflake e. It was not intended to offend.

      Delete
    4. 1:49, Sorry. Pero minsan foreigners able to recognize Manila first before Philippines. It’s synonymous.

      Delete
    5. 1:25, 1:30, shame on you. Manila alone is not the Philippines. Know your history and your geography.

      Delete
    6. Meh, Manila is the armpit of the country.

      Delete
    7. 1:49 agree!

      Delete
    8. Ignorante kasi. Everywhere you go, if you tell somebody you’re from Manila, they will know you’re referring to the Philippines.

      Delete
    9. Going back to Manila kasi dito naman ang opening sa capital bale bumalik siya.

      Delete

      Delete
    12. 2:20 , why so sensitive

      Delete
    13. 149 Hay sige ano dapat gawin. Diba nung elementary, meron sa history subject, country and their capital.

  6. this kind of mentality is so divisive. why so regionalistic, sarah duterte? i dont think ryan cayabyab and his team meant anything by this. you will use your nega influence again to make this tagalog vs bisaya. how can we ever be one kung napaka regionalistic?

    ReplyDelete

    1. "No place in the world like Manila" As a Visayan, Manila wouldn't be the most incomparable for me. And it's not Manila I'm gonna miss.

You speak of being one, then consider respecting all other people/culture in the Philippines. Manila isn't the Philippines.

      Delete
    2. 2:30 the dance performances didn't originate from Tagalog region tho. ibang regional culture naman nashowcase dun. so why single out the song "Manila"?criticize everything then.

      Delete
    3. 2:30 masyado madamdamin at feel di kasali. So wag sarado utak, MANILA IS THE CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES, live with it! At it will always be known the manila is also philippines

      Delete
    4. Sana inopen niya IG niya for comments lels

      Delete

      Delete
    6. Nauna pa nyo napnsin na may manila na song, mas napansin ko pa nga na wala na tayong mga ganyang kanta ngayon which speaks fondly of anything about our country or of being pinoy.

      Delete
    7. @2:30 synecdoche po tawag dun. halimbawa sinabi ng isang tao na pare check out my new wheels ang wheels pertins to the car. it's a figure of speech po. wag masyadong literal. masyafo naman kayong nagpipity party.

      Delete
    8. Why are so many people so sensitive with that song? 1:26 is correct.
Then what song was proper for the event? Manila by Hotdog is already a "classic" and an iconic Filipino music.

      Delete
    9. OMG Sana huling termino nyo na talaga lahing Duterte! Bisaya ako pero last time I went to Davao eh feel na feel ko ang hatred ng mga bisaya sa mga nagtatagalog! Parang may galit kayo sa taga ncr? Anong kasalanan ng ordinaryong mamamayan sa inyo?!

      Delete
    10. 230 Masyado naman kayong butthurt. Habang pinapanuod ko yun, naiisip ko nakakaproud maging Pilipino as a whole. Kayo pala habang pinapanuod niyo, naiinis kayo na puro Manila sinasabi. What’s wrong with you guys? May personal grudges ba kayo?

Hindi pa tayo iisang pilipinas nung nakipaglaban si lapu-lapu, and he didn't die because of our war with foreign invaders as far as I'm concerned...if what I've learned from history textbooks a while back is still accurate. Also, I get the whole issue about imperial manila, but let's face it, kahit dumating ang araw na maging federalist nation tayo, manila will still represent us dahil nandun ang seat of power, unless magbuo ng bagong capital (which doesn't seem feasible so far).

    3. 10:39 same sentiments here. Sobrang dami nila like mas marami pa to all other countries combined at nakakainip yung paulit ulit na Manila song. Pwede naman magkaroon lang ng representative ng delegates for each lugar kaso gusto lahat epal at nasa camera. kahit nga sa olympics yung host na big country di ganung karami delegates na nagpa parade

Some Filipinos are just so sensitive about it because people from Manila have always been condescending to pinoys from the provinces.

Di ba kayang magunite as one? Di naman yan about being Tagalog, Bisaya, Ilocano, etc. It’s about being Filipino and supporting one another kahit ano pang piniling song!

  59. Sana pinatugtog na lang nila iba't ibang upbeat songs from different provinces. Baka naman meron. Then end it with Manila by Hotdog. Some Twitter users commented Manila is for our OFWs that when they come back to the Philipines, they first arrive in Manila airport during the 70's, hence Manila is a representation of the Philippines. I like that observation. Music, television shows, and films usually present the status quo of the period when they are produced. so wag na masyado magpawoke.

  67. I believe, she's irate coz the song is already associated with the City of Manila. Ilang beses na to na highlight sa mga programs etc ni Mayor Isko Moreno, who's stealing all the limelight away from her supposed "wonderful city" ng Davao and her leadership. Hehe. Pero ok din sana if they borrowed PINOY AKO by ORANGE AND LEMONS or BAMBOO's NOYPI. Tutal Filipino spirit naman ang ina uplift, and these songs are about our resilience at determination. Oh well.
