If the movie flopped, Daniel would be quiet. But because it became the most succesful local movie, he’s claiming he turned down the role. He should just let kath and Alden enjoy their success. He will have his time to shine as well, he just needs to be patient. He’s starting to look insecure and jealous of the succes kath has achieved without him.
He didn’t accept the movie because he was satisfied with achieving the highest grossing Filipino movie THOU. He thought no one could beat their record anytime soon, but he was wrong. If he knew HLG would beat THOU, he would’ve accepted it.
Tbh DJ turning down the role was a good move career wise for both him and Kath. Kath was able to grow as an actress and establish a solo career. While DJ took a break from being boxed in the typical SC pabebe movies. Doing another one right after THOU, would’ve just proved even more how Kathniel can only do pabebe projects. Dj needed that break to venture out into different genres of movies. In addition both THOU and HLG were more focused on Kathryn si DJ would’ve just been a supporting role.
we, the casual viewers, did not need to know this. Alden as Ethan was perfect for the role. Couldn't have it any other way. Be it Daniel or any other leading man. Alden suits the role with that handsome barista look and he nailed that badboy-ish attitude as much as Kath was perfect as Joy.
Daniel needs to stop milking on HLG. Alden is already over it. Next year, you can still have a new movie with Kath and make it blockbuster. No need to make HLG all about you.

ReplyDeleteDJ might have felt a bit threatened for a lot of reasons pero sana gawin niya tong inspiration not to compete with Kathryn but to do better and explore his capabilities more with other actresses. Mukhang secured naman na yung relationship niya with Kath eh.

And CGM said that the lead actor can't be Daniel because the plot is about strangers meeting for the first time. She wanted a fresh pairing to bring a different dynamic to the film. ReplyDeleteAnyway, someone’s loss is always another’s gain. That’s how i see it. Alden Richards made Ethan’s role iconic, interesting, and unforgettable. Can’t imagine anyone else playing Ethan. Parang si Tom Cruise sa Jerry Maguire. It was originally offered to another Tom- Tom Hanks, but he decided to do “That Thing You Do” instead. Di ko maimagine si Tom Hanks sa i iconic line na “You had me at hello.” Sorry, di keri. Parang yung “I love you.” din ni Ethan. Si Alden lang din. :)

ReplyDeleteIf the movie flopped, Daniel would be quiet. But because it became the most succesful local movie, he’s claiming he turned down the role. He should just let kath and Alden enjoy their success. He will have his time to shine as well, he just needs to be patient. He’s starting to look insecure and jealous of the succes kath has achieved without him.
ReplyDeleteHe didn’t accept the movie because he was satisfied with achieving the highest grossing Filipino movie THOU. He thought no one could beat their record anytime soon, but he was wrong. If he knew HLG would beat THOU, he would’ve accepted it.

ReplyDeleteTbh DJ turning down the role was a good move career wise for both him and Kath. Kath was able to grow as an actress and establish a solo career. While DJ took a break from being boxed in the typical SC pabebe movies. Doing another one right after THOU, would’ve just proved even more how Kathniel can only do pabebe projects. Dj needed that break to venture out into different genres of movies. In addition both THOU and HLG were more focused on Kathryn si DJ would’ve just been a supporting role.

Alden suits the role with that handsome barista look and he nailed that badboy-ish attitude as much as Kath was perfect as Joy.

What's the big deal na pinalitan ang casting? It happens all the time! Successful ang movie kaya di ko ma-gets ang bitterness ng Alden fans? He just said the project was theirs originally. Pero ang angas talaga ni Daniel sa interviews at very mataray; interesting siyang subject kasi walang filter!
