(Warning graphic content, content that can trigger those who suffer from depression and other mental illnesses) RARELY do I share personal stuff on my social media accounts but I think its time I talked about this dark period in my life because I know that someone out there is going through the same thing. I want you to know that everybody has issues and sometimes you seeing other people have them will help you cope with your own. Years back I found myself in a place where I only saw one way out. I went through a spiralling journey of Depression and suicidal thoughts. Where everything seemed like nothing matters anymore. Locked myself at home, turned down almost every job that came in and shut myself off from work, friends, family, the world. I am introvert. And as an introverted person I was so used to keeping my thoughts to myself. Even when I wanted to share stuff, I truly didn’t know how to. I didn't know how to voice out all these feelings and thoughts inside me.So here I am sharing with you guys that even the people who appear to be okay or who seem to “have it all” might be going through their own struggles, fighting their own demons. Please, dont be afraid to reach out to your friends, family, and loved ones. Often times people will brush it off thinking it's nothing to be concerned about or it's a small matter. Don't be scared to voice out what you feel no matter how hard it is. Never lose HOPE. If you arent ready to open up to the people closest to you, you can also reach out and call hopeline

  1. Sorry but this is too vague. Not that we're asking for a blow-by-blow account abt your diagnosis but posts like this seem to gloss over the medical aspect and just jump to the "reach out and ask for help" line. Nagiging trite na at minsan di mo alam if attention seeking lang.

    1. Minsan kasi mahirap mag share sa family kasi ayaw mo sila magalala. Talking to someone helps.

    3. your comment is self righteous and entitled, and is a non-factor on his mental state. he does not owe you anything, and you do not have to believe him. who are you to judge and assume that he is seeking attention? this is the reason why most of the times it’s too late for some people, because people like you stigmatize. you could just be sensitive and say nice things or repost the intention, but here you are, wanting to be on here questioning someone else’s mental state. just scroll past.

    6. People like you are the cause why some mentally ill people find it hard to express themselves. You easily judge them. Try to be empathetic to all.

    8. Vague? He is posting this for people suffering mental health issues to seek help. I had been suffering anxiety and depression for long. I kept it to myself kasi I dont know how to express it to my family and friends. People suffering mental illness tend to hide themselves on fake smiles and laughter. We tend to shut down people from our lives. I myself am afraid to let people who knew me that I am mentally ill. Its like drowning in water where no own can save you.

    9. I pity Anon 1:08. Such an insensitive person 😕

    10. Mental illnesses don’t need to be disclosed in public. The person has the right to disclose whatever they want, no matter how little.

    11. Yung mga ganitong comments ang dahilan kung bakit increasing ang numbers ng may depression e. Meron pa ring stigma. Instead of understanding someone who going through it, minamaliit lang at sinasabing attention-seekers lang sila. :(

    12. So attention seeking pala ang maglaslas ng pulso at magpakamatay.

    13. The last thing na kailangan nang merong depression o mental illness ay yang judgement mula sa makikitid ang utak. Shame on you 1:08

  5. Many celebrities are going through depression, not just in the Philippines but in other countries like Korea. Many lives were taken. Let's pray that those with mental illness and depression would reach out and talk and that their friends and loved ones would learn to listen and see the signs. Let's pray for all those that are crying for help.

  6. Kahit may trigger warning ka Paulo no-no magpost ng ganyang image dahil people in undergoing depression can get nasty ideas. You should know better nagpapaka mental health advocate ka

    1. Easier said than done. With mental illness, your battling with yourself. It's not like you have an on and off switch. You clearly need to educate yourself. More empathy than judgment and giving unsolicited advice.

    2. He visits his son. Nagba-bonding sila. Nakita ko minsan sa IG story niya.

  13. thanks for sharing Pau. Hoping for your full recovery! very inspiring and not easy to open it to everyone specially if you are introvert like me. sharing is caring and remember you are not alone

  14. Alagaan mo anak mo para di ka madepress. It's one thing to have a condition it's another to use this as pambawi when you have nega reputation and gusto mo ma save image mo.

    1. I feel sorry for you for lacking empathy. Whatever he lacks in an aspect in his life does not give you permission to judge or act morally superior. You are not helping people fight the stigma on mental health illness.

    2. Get your head out of your showbiz bubble 4:40 and consider the fact that Paulo Avelino is also a HUMAN BEING with HUMAN FEELINGS. GRABE KA sa pagjudge sa kanya saying na 'pambawi' lang ito for his nega rep. His relationship with his son is no longer our business. This is between them and the mother of the child too.

  15. PAO TRY MO MAG REACH OUT SA ANAK MO, BAKA YUN LANG ANG MAKAKAPAGPAWALA NG DEPRESSION MO

    1. Ay teh please educate yourself about mental illness. I agree with you ba sana makabawi siya sa anak niya. Pero di yun ang “makakapagpawala” basta-basta.

  16. I hope I don’t offend anyone with my opinion regarding depression because I’ve experienced this myself intermittently over a period of years. Aside from seeking professional help (and the medications do work depending on your case), but surrendering everything to God gave me peace and joy that I’ve never experienced before. I turned to Him and told Him to take over my life and my entire being because I can’t handle it anymore. I have a very good career, materially blessed, supportive wife, family and friends but when it strikes, you’re so lost and nothing seems to matter. Only God has given me the spirit of joy, love and sound mind and not the spirit of fear, anxiety or depression. And here’s my two cents worth...

    1. Sa tingin ko the first step is always the hardest. May stigma parin na kapag may mental illness, crazy na. Madaming depress na hindi kayang iembrace ang condition na kailangan magpatingin sa psychiatrist or kahit sabihin sa magulang or friends na may mental illness sila. Kaya may movement na mental health is just as important as physical health. Wala masama magpacheck up sa psychiatrist.

  18. 10:21 depression is an illness. it is different from what people refer to as "nakaka depress", etc. those who suffer from depression do not wish to feel down but they do. read more about it.
