I see it’s doing well overseas and it’s charting here in the phils but is it enough where he can sell albums and concerts.....probably not seeing as his first album palm dreams didn’t do well. He kept his end of the bargain and did what they required him to do with the contract they bound him to. He now feels that he should explore the dreams he has for himself. They’ll probably still give him projects because he has a big social media presence.

DeleteSome actors who become famous sometimes forget that it takes a lot of work, financial investment, and complex strategy to sustain their fame and the interest in their brand via multiple media platforms. That's why huge stars like Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Angel Locsin or Kathryn Bernardo don't leave their management/networks even though they are famous and rich enough to do so. They are seasoned enough to know the give-and-take needed for longevity, and willingly participate in the rules imposed on them to achieve that longevity. Without that machinery supporting them, they are not assured of consistent well paid work and audience reach. James Reid is taking a huge risk, with many newer stars on the rise, and considering that he has not had a huge hit since OTWOL days (already 4 years ago). Spotify hits are peanuts ($0.0084 per stream) compared to the 6-figure salaries they receive for teleseryes or endorsements. If he does not stay relevant and appealing to the public, he will likely be bypassed for other in demand stars. And, he will not be able to sustain his lifestyle with Spotify income alone.

Actually hindi dapat ipagmayabang yang pagtatayo ng music label. Madaling magtayo. Mahirap isustain. Marami nang indie labels na nagtayo sa Pinas at nalugi. Being a producer means ikaw mismo ang gagastos sa lahat lahat ng expenses ng artist mo from recording to promotion to concert hoping it will all pay off.
