Uh, I guess...except she manipulated the "work in progress" photo to make it seem like she didnt follow a numbered outline. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think tracing helps you learn how to paint...painting is not really so much of an "eye-hand skill" (otherwise everybody who can see and handle a paintbrush will be able to paint, but there are blind individuals and amputees who are painters). Almost all of the skills involved in painting is related to perception/cognition, and tracing is a mindless activity and doesn't allow you to "perceive" or analyze the subject in front of you. With all that being said, nothing wrong with paint by numbers. Just wanted to discuss that assumption about learning how to paint a little bit, cause based on my observation people who are bad at drawing can be pretty good painters if they are good at perceiving color and how it transitions (e.g. a person's face cannot just be one color, there are parts na mas reddish, mas light, mas dark), so tracing may not really be necessary as a starting point to learn. If people are looking for therapeutic activities though, paint by numbers fits the banga, it works on attention/self-regulation, and it's very repetitive yet doesn't require much processing, tapos maganda yung final product.
