Pag pinilit mo kasi yung instrument like a guitar for example sa overhead cabin or coat rack, it will take so much space na dapat good for 2-3 persons' na.
it’s either to check in your instrument or buy a ticket for your instrument. yun kasi ang standard policy ng mga airlines kaya ang PAL nagadjust na sila sa standard policy. wag ng ipilit just follow the rules. it’s your choice check in or buy a ticket. tapos!
Musical instruments that cannot fit in the aircraft cabin's overhead compartment or under the passenger seat cannot be accepted in the cabin. This means such instruments cannot be part of one's "carry-on". Instead, these shall be accepted as "check-in baggage" and will be loaded in the cargo compartment of the aircraft. Another option is for a passenger to avail of the 'cabin baggage option' whereby a seat is provided for the instrument, subject to charges.
If the musical instrument fits the aircraft's overhead compartment or under the aircraft seat, it can be accepted in the cabin as part of one's "carry on".
Kung ayaw nila i-check in ang musical instrument, they can avail the cabin check in, i think, if i am not mistaken. Huwag masyado entitled. Kailangan natin sumunod.
True!
Artists should understand that airline would put people’s safety over any other material things. You buy a seat for your instrument because in case of emergency it could block passengers from exiting the plane. Instruments can be stored in a hardcase to keep it secure. We all take risks when we take the plane or even take a car. I can travel with a ming vase and the same risk would be there with any musical instrument. Would you rather put people at greater risk than 1 person’s belongings?
Musicians who are earning well enough are willing to pay more for proper care and transport of their instruments, but not all of them can afford extra seat or 2 business/1st class seats. Some instruments are worth millions, some are centuries old. Given that they cannot always choose how they travel (yeah, I've read that poster insisting to go via ship if musicians need more space. Like duh, when will they reach?), or which airline to use for the destination.
It's a reality that fragile stickers aren't respected by porters and baggage handlers. Why else are instrument cases that are made of good materials are still getting broken when checked in? So rather than insisting for buying extra seat or checking in, airlines can ask for an extra fee for a separate stow for guitars and the like just as some do for wheelchairs and strollers. I think that's a win-win solution, since the airline gets extra income, and the passenger musician is happy.
Yeah,Ive seen that ,others just pay extra for their items like strollers, Fishing rods etc. Im not sure about guitars.like if you are the one carrying the guitar for example, the other passengers at the back might get injured or something.
Kung ako yan ha,suggestion lang.If you want to make sure that your valuable items do not get destroyed in the airplane.Just pay the movers prior to your trip.Ipa fed x mo,lbc mo ganyan.Im sure the forwarding company will take care of your items.
What if they just pay a forwarding company then have their musical instruments shipped to them, hindi pa masisira pag forwarding company.Instead of.bringing the items with you sa airport.
You can't buy a seat for personal effects or items. Kahit nga bags bawal nakalabas pag taxi at landing. Kasi di design ung seat belt to keep them intact. Pag nagkaproblema ung plane, lilipad ung gamit at pwede makasugat.
Or magbusiness class or first class ka para mas malaki cabin size nyo. Kalurky!
Classmate, you are not helping; alaska na lang ba and kalurky attitude palagi? Pano kung starting out pa lang yung musician and cant afford business class tix? Sana naman meron tayong ma-isip na way to help local musicians di ba? Classmate, malay mo in your next life, musician ka and need to travel, pano na? Hug-hug.
You can’t buy a seat for any musical instrument. Most inter island flights don’t have business class or first class. Lol. Alamin mo mona before satsat.
Oh my god these people are not first time travelers. Arline's have different policies about carrying musical instruments. Not because x accepted will automatically mean y should too! I've always thought musicians as intellectual Pero bat ganyan
I will never fly with that airline ever again.
Tama yan, sign a waiver, since pinilit nila yung instrument nila.
You can get Cathay, China, Thai, Singapore, etc...
Meh, we are not just talking about international flights. Ice is talking about inter-island flights within the Philippines, meaning PAL and Cebu pacific lang.
Question, pano nakaka perform mga malalaking orchestra or yung mga back up bands pag may Tour abroad? Ibinabarko ba muna ang instruments bago itransport yung mga tao?just wondering?
Mahal na musicial instrument vis-a-vis a policy from an airline company with an utmost diligence required by law? Totoo talaga? Napaka self serving naman ata nun. Instead of telling us how expensive yung instrument is, bakit hindi alamin yung wisdom behind the policy bakit hindi pwede i-hand carry ang ibang gamit like your instrument?
Lay people could easily understand na SAFETY ang reason and believe me BOY, mas magugulat ka pa kung ano ang mga rason bakit hindi pwepwede. Kaya kayo na tatawag na entitled e!
Guys read the post again. Kahit gusto man nilang bumili ng ticket for the instrument itself, bawal nga, pang check in talaga. Kaya yung rason na need ng space is a little bit moot.
Bakit hindi nya magets yung for safety?
Naka padala na ba yan before they get to the venue?
I think it has something to do with the airline itself.
I work at the airport at sinasabi ko sa inyo.. ang guitars are considered as check-in baggage. Alam niyo kung bakit nalulusot yung ibang instrument as hand carry? Simple. Kasi maliit siya enough to be placed in the overhead bin. Tsaka in some instances, kahit maliit nga pinapakiusapan pa namin yan sa Flight Purser if pwede kasi minsan ang flight puno. So we also have to be considerate. Basta naman hard case, pwede i-check in.
Pag pinilit mo kasi yung instrument like a guitar for example sa overhead cabin or coat rack, it will take so much space na dapat good for 2-3 persons' na.
Deleteit’s either to check in your instrument or buy a ticket for your instrument. yun kasi ang standard policy ng mga airlines kaya ang PAL nagadjust na sila sa standard policy. wag ng ipilit just follow the rules. it’s your choice check in or buy a ticket. tapos!

DeleteNot this again. Just freakin' buy cabin baggage for your VERY important instruments. PAL offers that product kung ayaw i-check in.
ReplyDeleteNothing as such. Airline charges extra fee for additional checked baggage BUT never for cabin baggage
DeleteGirl, just google PAL musical instruments or PAL cabin baggage. Nothing as such ka dyan. Taga-PAL ka te?
DeleteWhat if ipadala mo kaya sa forwarders prior to your trip.
DeleteFeeling entitled, e airline policy e. Di huwag kayo sumakay sa Pal o kaya bili kayo ng isang seat for the guitar?

For sure PAL have reasonable reasons for their policy.
